Loved everything about this place- warm vibe, friendly staff, fab drinks, yummy food. Place is small and fills up even on a Monday night, but we lucked out with a table after just a short wait. Small booth with a round table is the perfect size for two- not really a place for a big crowd. Creative cocktail list. Loved the perfectly balanced Calmer Than You Are. Plates are good for sharing. Everything we tried was delish- charred escabeche wiht sourdough bread, persimmon tartine with a nice smear of triple cream brie, kushi oysters with sambal cocktail sauce, and a lobster roll. Highly recommend and would return.

Leisurely weekend up from Portland with Wife N visiting a few friends. Six of us met at Bar Miriam, Saturday evening, 5:00pm.Not too busy at that time, all of us got a straight row of tables together, place was about half full.Drinks: Wife N ordered the "Blue, Myself" and then a "Sword of Destiny". I ordered a "Frightened Inmate #2". Around the table were a variety of other concoctions. We all took mini sips of each others' and agreed that wowzers, the drinks are very on-point here. Stellar mixology. Inventive. Complex. NOTHING was off--every one of these drinks nailed it in every way.On to the food. She ordered the lobster roll, because...they have one so it must be ordered. Wow, umm...they put like almost an entire lobster in that roll. $27, in retrospect, was not high--that roll brought it and was a solid whole meal in itself. Lightly seasoned with a mayo base and lemon--not much adulterating the flavor, they really just let the lobster shine here. I had the Chilean Sea Bass Crudo.. This was very different from the more Peruvian (leche de tigre, cltrusy) preparations I've typically had. This one was more Mediterranean-style, with an ajoblanco (white creamy/oliv-y/almond-y soup) tart thin-sliced strawberries and micro greens. Absolutely fantastico! Nipped a couple nibbles from around the table...that corn spaetzle is really nice, smoky and sweet. Wife finished it off with their funnel cake dessert. Semi-crispy funnel cake with sliced fresh strawberries and a mezcal-lime infused honey. Nom nom.Fabulous in every way. Absolutely keeping Bar Miriam on our "must return" list.

There were so many twists and turns to get to this unassuming neighborhood gastropub, that you begin to question what you are even doing here. But then you notice the little things; the bottle of Chinese rocket fuel they have on the shelf, the chaotic wall art that oddly matches the background music/noise(?) coming through the speakers. Menus are carved into wooden blocks at the bar. It's a very chill vibe. I asked for an old fashioned; he didn't ask me for specifics or what type of bourbon I preferred. I thought about it and then got distracted by emails. My old fashioned arrived and my eyes popped. Easily one of THE best old fashioneds I'd ever had. Sweet, smooth, delicious.1. Stone fruit & tomatoes: so good. Soooooo good. I could and would happily drive back through all those twists and turns for another hit of this delightful salad. That addictive yellow dressing- first instinct is curry bc of the rich yellow, but it's not. I checked the menu. Charred corn buttermilk- what?? Amazing 2. Tandoori eggplant: I love a good charred eggplant, but this was nothing compared to the first dish bc it was still blowing my mind.3. Street corn spaetzel: had to get it bc Jen raved Really interesting and fun textures and flavors 3. Lobster roll: again bc of Jen Generous amount of succulent lobster, well seasoned with light touches of pickles on perfectly soft toasted buttery bread. 5. Steak au poivre: juicy, perfectly cooked flat iron. I respect the fact they didn't ask how we would like it cooked anything beyond medium rare is a crime. The breaded and fried onions were a delightful surprise. Cherry tomatoes added the perfect note to this dish We were too full for dessert, but I will definitely be back. This is such a charming little neighborhood spot, turning out very innovative and delicious creations. If the right people find them, it won't be long before they end up on the James Beard list.

Came to Bar Miriam for an after dinner drink. Small, cozy, PACKED on Friday night. Party of 2 waited to be "seated" and were directed to stand by a bar. Then were ignored for the rest of night. 2 thumbs up for Stiff drinks. NYC bar vibe 100%.

Cute date night location. I usually don't like mezcal but I really wanted to try a drink that had it - the waitress encouraged me to get it and offered to switch it out free of charge if I didn't like it (I loved it btw)

Bar Miriam is a tough spot. While I consider myself a cocktail snob, bar Miriam takes it to a whole new level, with many ingredients even I am not familiar with and a wide array of imported amaros, aperitifs, digestifs, and infused-spirits. While I really enjoy the speakeasy/jazz-club-esque vibe going on, the menu is fairly unapproachable and at times bizarre, even for those of us who are studied in cocktails. I know once can order classics off the menu, I suppose, I just wish there were innovative mixes that were not quite so avant-garde, but rather unique takes on classic favorites. Bar Miriam, I want to love you, and by all accounts, should, but I just don't yet.

We popped into Bar Miriam on a whim before our dinner... solid vibe and ambience. Thanks to our awesome server, she rearranged multiple people to fit our group of 6 at the hi top table! We only had 1 drink so I need another visit to fully take it in. Most of the cocktails are pretty obscure - I know my way around mixology and didn't know half the ingredients! Most of the drinks were solid - mine wasn't quite my jam but was going out on a limb. I'll be back to try again with some bites!

Terrific cocktails and food. Service was outstanding. We arrive shortly after opening and the server was great, answering questions, offering suggestions. It was probably partly due to fewer patrons that early but she was still attentive when they filled up. We'll definitely be back.
