This restaurant deserves a yearly update. This is in the middle of nowhere but with the best crabs. At the particular visit, we ordered the Jumbo, and they were AMAZING! They sell out often so I would recommend ordering out, so call early to reserve your dozen or two. We got the jumbo

This was our first time dining in. Our usual go-to crab house in Reisterstown wasn't available so we decided to try this place's dine in. We've ordered crabs from across the street (J&T Seafood) to Woodbine Inn before and they were good. They told us at that time if we ever wanted to dine in, we could go to the restaurant across the street and order crabs and they would be sent over to our table. So we decided to give it a try. We called ahead to check their crab availability. We decided to order a dozen large crabs and was told they would be ready and delivered to our table as we came in. The guy on the phone also told us they now had a special for $55 for all you can eat medium crabs from 4-9pm which also would include soup, hush puppies and some other items I can recall. When we got there, the restaurant seemed very busy. We were not immediately greeted and had to wait about 3 minutes before someone acknowledged us. The server told us he had just called our name and how we had a 6:00pm reservation...mind you the guy on the phone never gave us an exact time and...it was exactly 6:01pm. He then told us to hold on and he would seat us. He proceeded to go to the machine to get paper to cover the table and never told us to follow him over. He looked back to see if we were there, at which time we hurried along. He sat us right at the door, on a 2 seat table that would later barely hold the dozen crabs we ordered. After sitting for about 6 minutes we saw the server again and asked him for menus, as we wanted to order more than just crabs. He brought out our hot crabs about 10 minutes after we sat down, still no menus. He then came back and asked what we would like to drink. Each time he came to the table to ask us a question, he would hurry off before we would even fully respond or ask for anything else. We had to catch him as he waited on other tables to ask for napkins and refills on our drinks, as well as corn on the cob and French fries. When the fries came out, they were overcooked and burnt. We asked him to take them back at which time we received an annoyed look. He took them away and about 10 minutes later he came back with some hush puppies that we never ordered, claiming to give them to us in place of the fries. We don't like hush puppies and again, never order them. I'm not sure if this is the typical service or if service has gone down since they started offering "all you can eat crabs". I also felt and observed the waiter being more attentive to other tables. When we received the check, the French fries were on there. I took the check to the counter where the waiter was and he asked if there's a problem. I said yes, the fries are on the bill. He said "oh really?" He took it and removed the fries and somehow pretended to misplace the pen he literally had on the counter 2 seconds before. Guess he didn't want me to touch it or something. He finally found it and gave it to me with an eye roll. The receipt has the server listed as: "Cash S". We will not be eating here again. If we do get crabs again, we will order them from J&T Seafood across the street and take them home. The crabs were good but like I said, they came from J&T Seafood across the street from this restaurant. The restaurant itself is crowded, tables aren't spaced out well. There are much better places to get crabs and food in Maryland. Don't waste your time...or money!

Second time here, thought I'd give it another shot. It's the last time. Oysters were good but they pretty much make themselves. Got the soft shell crab hard fry, there was no soft shell crab to be seen just a fried mess. Onion rings seemed to be breaded in the wrong batter, something cakey not crispy. No refills on the tea probably because the waitress forgot about us, and I had lots of time to write this review waiting on the waitress to bring my check.

Service cared about our experience !Ambiance and service were great, so were the crabs! Will definitely revisit!

Friendly service The crab ball appetizers were chock full of crab. The lemon meringue pie was perfection. Nice friendly fast service as well.

Crabs are great and we had good service. Have dines here many times. The non-crab menu items are decent but not great.

The Woodbine in is a bar that serves seafood and you need to keep that in mind when you go. If you want soft music and ambiance, don't go! If you want cold, very cold beer, cold glasses, excellent seafood and some of the nicest people on the planet go! it's a gem and the food is always very good and we've traveled 30 miles one way for 30 years just to eat there:) enjoy!!Pete and Diana :)Frederick, Md

I'm writing this review with extreme sadness.A group of friends, 10 in total, visited the Woodbine for the all you can eat crabs. Notified the Inn the day before that 8 would be asking for the all you can eat, 2 off of the menu.1 of our group members secretly went to the waitress, and paid 1/2 of our total bill. Lovely gesture, however, we were all charged full price. In fact, we were charged for 9 all you can eat: I paid for the other out of good faith. We spoke with the owner/manager that evening, but she stated she had been drinking and would review the next day.Over 3 weeks later, and no refunds have been received. I am due $55, and my dear friend $377. Clearly they had an overage that evening. We have presented all of the receipts, indicating the payment of full price by all members of our party, as we were question by manager regarding our honesty.I have been a huge fan and visitor of the Woodbine for decades. I'll order crabs from J and T and bring them home from now on. Lesson learned.

Everything we ordered was great - crab pretzel to salads to entrees. Service was great and waitress was friendly.
