Let me preface this by saying prior to the pandemic, Vizzini's was just that spot that I knew from various school dances in middle school. However, since moving back to the area during the pandemic, it's become my go to local spot for pizza, a cheesesteak, etc. A couple of things before my review of my most recent experience:1) The prices of the food are decent for a smaller mom and pop chain and are in line with other spots in the area with a similar number of locations (Squisito, Bella Italia, Carini's, etc.).2) I don't expect much from places like Vizzini's because it's a neighborhood pizza spot in suburban Maryland. As long as it's hot, fresh, and what I ordered, I'm fine. This isn't New York and therefore I know I'm not gonna be getting John's of Bleecker, so the scale on how I rate something like this place will be less picky. My most recent experience I ordered a chicken sub with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, mayo and a side of fries. The fries were that perfect salty, crispy, skin on type of fry you fantasize about at baseball games. You know the ones. No complaints. I had also ordered a large birch beer -- something that you don't see at most restaurants -- but this was my first nitpick. I got a drink that was much smaller than advertised, so needless to say when it was delivered, I scratched my head a little bit.My biggest issue was with my sandwich: lots of chicken which was GREAT because some places skimp on protein around here. However, half the toppings were missing which again... kind of a hard thing to mess up on. I'm willing to give benefit of the doubt to a point, but that seemed off. All of that said though -- this last experience is kind of an outlier. Typically they do a great job of honoring requests like asking for ranch on the side. One time, my roommate wanted a side of nacho cheese but didn't see an option for it on her delivery app so she just asked for it and they gave her the hookup. That's the difference between a good mom and pop local spot and a bad one! Overall, really solid spot and I'm happy to have it in my rotation of local restaurants I plan on continuing to support.

I just had a delicious steak and egg sub Marine on a delicious freshly baked sub roll. Very clean. Very nice. I can't say any more than that. Other than that the owner is a true Sicilian from the Sicilian town of Vizzini. I thought he named it after the character in the Princess Bride movie. But no, it's his real name.

My wife and I lived in Arnold as newlyweds from 1993-1995. We had Vizzini's pizza every Friday night for two years straight before we left and moved back to my home state of Louisiana. We still talk about Vizinni's and how much we loved it. Which is why I'm posting this review 30 years later.

They stink except for their pizza. They have a few decent appetizer items, but the prices for the small portions are outrageous. I have ordered delivery more frequently than carry out. You never know when the order is going to arrive. They always say 45 minutes, but it could arrive in 15 minutes or an hour. They don't have dine-in. I will never forget the incident around 3 years ago when I viewed their current menu and pricing online. I called in the order and was told it was going to be around $10 more than the menu stated. I cancelled the order and suggested that they should be reported to The Better Business Bureau. A few minutes later I received a nasty call from "one of the owners." Extremely argumentative. He went on about how great their ingredients are. I couldn't get it through his skull that it is not good business practice to advertise items at one price and charge a higher amount. There wasn't even a "pricing subject to change disclaimer". They have lost me as a regular customer except when I'm in a pinch.

Grew up loving this place. Haven't been in years and decided to make a stop. I ordered a cold cut sub with fries. Ended up regretting it afterwards. I was in the bathroom all night. Never again will I eat here.

Heed other reviewers: this place does not care about cleanliness or the safety of food. After paying, the young worker handled the cash, closed the drawer, and went right to smooshing dough around with bare, unwashed hands. Whichever toppings you get know that you're also getting whatever was on the money/wallet/pockets of the person who came before you. (And who knows what happens where customers *can't* see!)

The pizza is alright but definitely better options out there. Used to go here a lot but to be honest I prefer Ledos more even Papa John's more. I mean Vizzinis is alright but you never hear someone say they want to order Vizzinis. It's only let's go get papa John's or let's go get ledos. I say only go here for convenience if you live in cape st Claire or just go to papa John's near it

1 star for the mozzarella sticks which seemed to be fresh out the fryer and hot. Which is super strange because in contrast, the pizza had clearly been left under a warmer for many hours. As tough and as flavorful as actual cardboard. All of the moisture from the sauce and cheese had seemingly evaporated under the lamp. Maybe its better fresh? But not willing to risk ordering from here ever again to see. So the second star is for service (lamp pizza=fast) and benefit of the doubt.

New to the area, so first time trying this place out. Ordered a chicken cheese steak and the Vito, and both were delicious! The chicken cheese steak was the favorite, overflowing with meat and grilled veggies, and of course cheese. Not too salty yet flavorful. The Vito sun was also good and packed with meat! Definitely will be ordering again.Also this is during the COVID-19 crisis and staff were noticeably quick and professional, all wearing gloves and changed them after doing payment. Thank you for your hard work during this time!
