The food in the back of the store that everyone mentions is now located next door at Pollo Feliz & Taqueria! I got all my food to go so here's my take on things. First of all the customer service was superb! The bartender even took the time to walk next door a grab me a tres leches cake since they were out in the restaurant. I got 1 each ofbeans/cheese and pork/cheese pupusas, menudo soup, and 2 pork tamales (they were out of chicken). It came with rice, cabbage, onions, cilantro, and a variety of sauces and salsa. I was craving tamales, I'm from the south, and thought this would do the trick. It didn't, completely different. But that was my own failed wishful thinking. I love Latin American food and everything was ok to me. I could tell it was all homemade and the soup was my favorite. The tres leches was different from what I'm used to. It didn't have as much extra milk and it had peaches. It was ok but I prefer the regular way better. Would I came back? Yes and try the tacos and maybe the chicken. Plus like I said the customer service was outstanding! And next time I think I'll eat in the restaurant instead of taking it to go.

This place was AWESOME!Unfortunately, we went a little late and so they were not serving any fresh food at that time. I really do wish we could have tried it during our stay. Aside from this, it is located right next to a Mexican restaurant (that is also phenomenal) and so I find this market to be in an extremely convenient location! They may even be owned by the same people. How great is it to go have an amazing meal next door, and then come over to the market to buy some goods! This is exactly what we did.I was extremely impressed upon walking in. It was very clean, fully stocked, and up to date. A lot of foreign markets are not as stocked with their goods. This market had everything you could possibly need. They had everything from medicines, personal care, snacks, candies, and food all imported from other countries! We went to the back of the store, where the food area is. We bought some freshly made pastries. They were so tasty, and truly provided a great cultural experience. I really wish we had a market like this in Buffalo. We do have some that are close to this value, but I have yet to walk into one that provides this much and is fully stocked and clean.

stopped by, slim pickins in the grocery side. I find more latin stuff than this at Safeway in Harper's choice.According to previous reviews they had a samall restaurant in the back. Well it seemed abandoned and prettty yucky. I hope it is not actually open. I could not ask the cashier because they were busy with a customer with money sending. I think that is their main business and the grocery and restaurant is a second thought. Would not go back. If you want groceries I reccomend Cinco de Mayo in Baltimore Eastern Avenue or even safeway Harper's choice.

Whether you go to the store where it has a small carry out in the back or you go to the restaurant (Pollo Feliz) next door, you're going to enjoy every single bite of these dishes I'd recommend you getting:Al Pastor (Marinated Pork), Chorizo (Sausage), Lengua (Beef Tongue), Tripe (Stomach Lining) and/or Beef Head Tacos. They all come with the usual ingredients; onion, cilantro and lime. My favorites are the Tripe and Beef Head. The Tripe has a very crispy exterior while the interior has a chewy interior and also contains a burst of flavor. The Beef Head is similar to the Lengua, they both don't have a lot of flavor but are very tender and complements the rest of the taco really well.Torta Cubana: Steak, Chicken, Ham, Sausage, Cheese AND Avocado all in 1 big sub? YES PLEASE. You'd think from all the different meats that the sub would taste like mush or not as great due to the plethora of flavors, but you can taste each and every topping in each bite of that delicious monstrosity... Okay maybe not the Avocado so much.Horchata (Mexican Drink): Old White Rice in a slightly smokey and sweet dessert drink. It might not sound really appealing, but trust me... It may not be THAT great, but it's really good.If you decide to come here, don't expect the service and ambiance to be great. Just come for the food!

I love spicy food. First of all, I'm Korea: I think its a prerequisite that I love spicy food. Plus, in my opinion, I'm not really eating if I'm not sweating... usually... ok, thats kinda gross... but sorta true. Ok...That being said, Mexican/Salvadorian/Latin/Not sure what the correct term is food is one of my favorite cuisines... It all started in 6th grade when my family stopped by a taco bell on the way home... Nachos Bell Grande! Soft Taco Supreme! While I now realize that Taco Bell is as authentic as General Tso's chicken (Really?! Yes really!! Do you really think Chinese people eat deep fried sugar coated chicken???), it did start my love affair with Mexican food. Over the years I grew fond of the wide variety of chilies and spices that are found in Latin foods. Finding that hole in the wall Mexican place that serves insanely good carne asada became my new lifelong passion.Tere's Latin Market is easy to find and easy to get to: right on Route 40, close to the Route 29 intersection. I went in looking for chili peppers and cheese and found just what I was looking for. They have a wide variety of dried and canned chilies and soft and hard cheeses. There's also a bunch of other canned goods and a limited selection of fruits and vegetables. This place seems well suited for both Spanish speakers as well as English speakers. I'll have to come back and try the cafe/grill in the back of the store.

The beauty of a food blog is that it almost justifies getting a taco on the way to dinner with friends.I had noticed recent comments about Tere's Latin Market talking about tacos and other specialities that I don't remember from a visit in 2008. So I detoured there on Rte 40 one night on the way to Korean at Shin Chon Garden.Back in the day, Tere's was just a small market. Now, there's a taqueria in the back. It's counter service with tacos, sandwiches, and some other dishes. For $2.50, I picked up a snack -- and found a great little place for Mexican food.Start with the flavor. The first taco was al pastor. Diced pork on two fresh corn tortillas came through moist, fresh and spicy with chopped cilantro on top. Even the takeout packet came with sliced radish and cucumber, which crunched nicely in contrast. Then come around the butchering. My wife -- who doesn't snack on the way to dinner -- talks about the meat at R&R Taqueria at the Shell station in Elkridge. It comes beautifully even from a tiny kitchen. No gristle. No chewy pieces. Tere's Latin Market pulls off the same trick. The pork was just better than anything I can dice out on my own.So I had to go back. Like the next day for lunch. I ordered up two tacos -- chorizo and beef. Again, moist, flavorful meat with spices. Chorizo was rich and greasy. (In a good way.) Beef was butchered right again and went great with squeezes of lime. There is a small bar of fresh salsas and chopped peppers and other vegetables. You can doctor them in the fashion that works for you.Seriously folks, these were delicious tacos, and Tere's pairs them up with horchata -- the creamy, refreshing Mexican soft drink that makes a special meal. R&R Taqueria makes a magical meal in a gas station. Now, there is an Ellicott City option as well.

My favorites are any of the pupusas; the al pastor, pollo, and asada tacos; and the Torta Cubana. While I wait for my order, I always load up the mini containers with their homemade sauces. My favorite is the fresh jalapeño, verde, and hot. Try a Jarritos bottled soda too! I found this place per recommendation of the lovely lady at Rogers Custom Cleaners a store away. Tere's is a Latin market with a fast and casual in the back of the store. Everyone I take to Tere's LOVES the food. This place is definitely my go to authentic Mexican.

My mom went in to grab some Panela and Queso blanco. The woman at the register was extremely rude to her and refused to answer a question my mom asked her. It was truly disappointing as we saw good reviews for this place, however on top of being overpriced, the terrible customer service is just unacceptable. Please avoid going to this market, I know I won't be back.
