So they get 5 stars because they do what they do. In our little town we had a place that for 30+ years delivered quality pizza and food. Then it disappeared. So did the team.FOUND THEM!!!They are back and taste just as good as it did before. Consistency, quality ingredients and gravy for my fries.Only downside - as so as folks realize what's up in our town, I'll have to wait longer to get my food.Welcome Home Ty & crew.

Looks like I'm handing out yet another 1 star review this week. Obviously the other 5-star reviews here and on Google were written by friends and family (See the review below by "Jay D." as a typical glaring example of this type of "Grand Opening" copywriting creativity). Ty's place settled into the mercifully-shuttered location formerly housing Mike's Pizza, which over the past decade or so went horribly wrong, making cheap, greasy pizzas with Don Pepino canned pizza sauce (yes, for real), low quality cheeses and meats, and mass-produced and delivered dough balls-- even though the facility boasts a full kitchen and dough making machinery. Decades ago, this was a real pizza place turning out a quality product, but that was way, way back when Mike Sr. had it.After finally succumbing to its slow death several months back, the location closed, and now its reincarnation is called Ty's Place, as evidenced by the quick slap of a banner across the original Mike's name on the building. I gave it a try last weekend, and was very disappointed. Ty's Pizza was just average. The sauce didn't have much of a discernible flavor. The cheese left an odd, sticky film in my mouth. The cheesesteak sub was underwhelming with it's soggy roll, and boasting an obviously cheaper cut of meat with a lot of gristle running through it. The fries are just like the grocery store frozen variety, and were not freshly cut. So disappointing. With so many low-end pizza places in Arbutus (well, practically all of them), there's room to have a real star player making a delicious, high-end product. Unfortunately for all of us hopefuls, this isn't it.The best pizza in Arbutus is still Pizza Boli's, and the worst (not just in Arbutus, but of ALL TIME) is still Sorrento's, of which see my review. Why would someone come new to the market with just another low quality line of below-average products? It's really too bad, I was so much looking forward to this. I should have known the earlier "Grand Opening" reviews were fake, as they almost always are, and let's not even point out that the Ty's Place Yelp page is still unclaimed. There's also no Facebook presence, as the old Mike's Pizza Facebook page is still up and ironically says "open". There's appears to be a Twitter page, but only shows a few odd and perhaps stock photos of pizza. Good luck also trying to find their menu online. If you're looking for pizza in Arbutus, it's going to be hard to beat Pizza Bolis-- and that's not saying much. We're just waiting for someone to step up to the plate and do it.

Terrible. Mediocre food, strange hours, overpriced. I've never seen a restaurant so relentless with the fake reviews. Embarrassing

I've been a loyal customer since soon after Ty's Place opened. The ever preset owner, usually at the grille, greets me by first name. I usually get cheese steaks or pizza. The cheese steaks are better than any in the Catonsville-Arbutus area, maybe the best in Baltimore. The chopped steak is high quality, fresh and cooked to order with attention to detail. The fresh house-made dough and sauce make the pizza, also best in the area to be sure. Give Ty's a try.

I love this small family owned place. I always get the same thing when I come in the cheesesteak and gravy fries. the cheesesteak is made with fresh ingredients every time. And the first time I came in I was surprised by the incredibly friendly staff, I rarely get to see that kind of service in the area.

I have no idea who taught these people how to make a pizza but they seriously need to make a trip to someone who knows how. Do not hope to see any cheese because there will be none!!! Have yet to get anything that tastes good. It's beyond me how this place stays open. If it was possible to give zero stars I would!!!

Came in for a quick lunch. Was caught off guard when the staff greeted me (not used to that where I live, was a pleasant surprise!) I just got a cheesesteak sub.The meat is super fresh and delicious, juicy but not greasy, and you get a lot. The tomatoes taste like they were plucked out of the ground this morning. The bread is just the right flavor. The balance of condiments is perfect; real chef quality.Support local businesses like these! You'll get better service and food than any subway down the street. Excellent staff and the food is to die for! Gotta come back next here next time I'm around! :)

We are visiting Baltimore for a conference and there were no appealing places to eat around us. This place is in the cut but very good and very well priced. There's stools to sit down and dine in and that's what my sister, my nephew and niece did. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak which was pretty tasty. The enjoyed the pizza more which was delicious. The fries were very good fries. The customer service was my favorite. They were super friendly, helpful and observant. I never ran out of my beverage!
