Since moving to the DMV area, I've been on the hunt for a spot that serves good fried whiting, and I think I've finally found it! TriecyDC did not disappoint. I ordered the whiting with fried cabbage and yams, and everything was perfect. The fish was fried just right--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The fried cabbage was served hot, and the yams were just the right amount of sweet without being overwhelming. My friend got the whiting with mac & cheese and collard greens, and they were just as delicious. I personally prefer my greens cooked with smoked turkey, but these seemed to have a non-meat base, likely to cater to the vegan/vegetarian crowd, which I totally respect. The location itself is a plus--plenty of free parking, a sit-in area to escape the cold, and a great vibe with music, a TV, and what looked like a full-service bar. One tip: get there early! The line gets long, and with Uber Eats and DoorDash orders constantly coming in, they run out of food every time they're open (just check their Instagram). If you're looking for some seriously good soul food in the DMV, I highly recommend giving TriecyDC a try. I know I'll be back!

I found this restaurant while browsing DoorDash. The reviews there and on Google were good, so I decided to order the jerk chicken dinner and a side of yams. The chicken was too salty and dry. The mac & cheese was bland and dry. No cheese pull at all. The greens tasted bitter and had a lot of stems in them. The best thing were the yams. The portion sizes are big, so my son and I were able to share. I may try this restaurant again. I ordered close to closing time, so maybe that's why the food wasn't up to par.P.S the owner responds with hostility to every low-star review.

TikTok angels blessed me with this find!! I wasn't expecting it to live up to the hype but OMGOODNESS!!!! I normally wouldn't open with reviewing a side BUT THOSE YAMZZZZZZ! To LIVE FOR (not to die for cuz then I wouldn't be able to have them anymore)!! Next, the fried fish! Crunchy, flaky, fresh and DELICIOUS! Everything I ate was yummy but the yams and fish were the 2 superstars for me!! I don't know what type of sorcery is going on in that kitchen but everything is PURE MAGIC!!

I heard great things about this place, so I decided to try it. My food was delivered via Uber Eats and didn't need reheating upon arrival. The whiting fish was good, greens were ok too many stalks for me, and the mac & cheese was decent. I thought including packets of crystals hot sauce was a nice touch. The candied yams were scrumptious, the bourbon chicken was very flavorful with just the right amount of smoke flavor to it, and the cabbage was the star of the show. My sister had the jerk chicken and said it was good but not as spicy as she likes it. I'll definitely try more items from their menu. 10 out of 10 I'd recommend!!

If you're looking for southern soul food in the DMV look no further because everything here tasted like home! You could taste the love in the yams, Mac and cheese, and cabbage. The fried chicken was also good but a little bit on the saltier side but I'll be back to Tricey's again soon. Also they make online ordering easy for pick up. You have to check them out.

The Mac and cheese alone is worth ordering from here! Definitely give this place a try. The bourbon chicken is not always a menu option but when it's there I highly recommend it!

I highly recommend this establishment to everyone in the DC. The owner is a black male chef with great customer service and great food. My favorite dish from here is the Salmon hash with the cabbage. Baby the cabbage will have you coming back for more everyday! Each time I've ordered from here everything was fresh and delicious. You have to order your food via the site or can get it delivered via Uber eats, and DoorDash. I like that they bring your food directly to your car and greet you. The communication is great too. Check them out ASAP!

Everything was absolutely on point! Not one complaint whatsoever. For all those that said that the candied yans were Yummy were exactly right! The fish was good. The jerk chicken wasn't bad. The greens were decent. The mac & cheese I would do again. I'll pass on the cabbage though - not that it was bad, just it wasn't my taste. All in all, I will definitely order from this place again.

Amazing portions & delicious food!! I love the whiting dinner with Mac and cheese and yams. Will be back please keep up the delicious food.
