Tribos Peri Peri Chicken - Ellicott City

I'm never disappointed with Tribos! The menu is flavorful and has a bunch of options. In do wish there were better descriptions on the menu. The "rice bowl" isn't actually a bowl but rather chicken on top of rice and a small salad next to it on a plate. Additionally the online menu says there's couscous and quinoa in the salad section and when I asked they said no. Maybe menus differ from location to location. I still wish the salad section had more details. Overall, the food is delicious, well prepared and extremely fresh. Today I got to try the tandoori chicken and it does take some time to cook almost 30 minutes but it was quite delicious and worth the wait. The french fries are also quite a treat packed with lots of flavor! The restaurant is clean and comfortable for dining in. Service is always friendly as well.

Overall: delicious food, cute and clean ambiance, and good service with multi-stall gendered restroomsWe always leave this place feeling super happy and full. It's always been empty when we drop by which makes us nervous because we would like this place to last. It's a pretty big location with big booths and cute decor. You order food at the register, but they bring it to you and bus the tables. I like the variety of their menu and sides. Their chicken is always falling off the bone, super juicy with excellent flavor. We love their sauces and rice. I think their French fries are the best fries I've ever had. I love their garlic sauce and their yucca fries too. I always see the desserts in the fridge. I've yet to try one but the tres leches looks yummy. My only complaints are that the steamed veggies are definitely from a frozen bag and taste like it and the containers they put their sauce in don't really let the sauce out.

I am so so thankful for Yelp Elite introducing me to this location!Tribos seems to be a fairly new location, but they are seasoned in my stomach! I visited by myself, ordered some of their empanadas, along with a spicy lamb bowl... *literally screaming* IT WAS SO SO GOOOOOOD!I wish there is more that I could detail. Everyone I know just needs to visit this location. Spacious dining area, with great food and good customer service. Unfortunately, I am not in this area too often, but when I am I will be revisiting!

I stopped here the other day for lunch. I ordered a lunch special of the Falafel rice bowl. It came with a drink as the only addition but the price was about the same as the regular bowl. The woman behind the counter that took my order was very nice and greeted me when I came it. It wasn't very busy on the day I came so I didn't have to wait in line. It was rather quiet inside. They did have some light music playing. I had my order to go. It was prepared quickly. When I got home I only ate half of it then saved the second half for dinner. The food was prepared well and all the ingredients has a fresh taste. It's so close to my house that I will definitely return.

I tried this place mainly because I was considering ordering their catering for an upcoming party and saw the 5-star reviews, but it was extremely disappointing. The first red flag should have been that before I ordered, I asked for a catering menu, and the lady at the counter said "do you want Indian food?" Why would I come to a peri peri chicken restaurant (that has no signage or menus for Indian food), to order Indian? I know I looked confused, so she said they don't have a catering menu. I ordered a quarter chicken dark with lemon herb sauce, an extra side of the hot sauce, and red skin potato salad.The second red flag was that at dinner time on a weekend, there was no one in there aside from two parties (both large families with kids). No one was waiting in line, no carryout orders were being picked up, etc. Anyway, the chicken was so bad that I couldn't finish eating it. I pretty much never throw food away, but it was gamey and tough, and had not been seasoned or marinated at all before cooking. The texture seemed like it had been baked instead of grilled, broiled, or roasted, which left soggy chicken skin around the chicken quarter that I had to pull off. The only flavor came from the sauce that was added after cooking, which doesn't flavor the actual meat, so I added the hot sauce I had ordered and more of the peri peri sauce they had on the table, but even that didn't have the tangy and spicy flavor I expected, and was watery. The red skin potato salad was the texture of mashed or smashed potatoes and was heavy on the mayo.

I tried this pot through a Yelp event and then went back. I ordered the chicken t tenders, which are grilled not not fried. I asked for them to be hot and they def. had a nice kick to them. They were very tender and it was a lot of food. I didn't realize it came with a side of rice, so I was pleasantly surprised by that. The rice tasted like it was basmati rice cooked with cloves; it had South Asian flavors to itI made three meals out of the one meal. It was very decently priced for the quantity we received.There was plenty of parking in the lot. The customer service was great and the place seemed clean.

I came with 2 other people around 5:30 - a little bit before the dinner rush hour. It was only us and another party when we arrived. When we left, the place was full!I ordered the boneless lamb over rice with the medium sauce. There was a lot of flavor, but the meat was too chewy for my taste. The rice was really good. One ordered a quarter chicken dark with rice. A little disappointed because the chicken was cold and they forgot to put the Lemon + Herb sauce. The flavor of the chicken was alright, per the person who had it.We also ordered a bunch of items, just so that we can try everything out - the appetizer platter which has 3 each of the falafel, wings, mac & cheese bites, jalapeno poppers; mixed olives, empanadas, paneer sticks, peri fries and peri mayo corn. Everything came out already cooled down; the only thing temperature hot were the poppers. So again, we were disappointed in the temperature of the food. Out of all the items we ordered, we really enjoyed the falafel. Very flavorful and not too dry.The space is very clean. The air from the vents can be powerful, so we moved to a booth to block some of the draft. There was only one server at the counter to take orders and at least 2 people in the back preparing the food. The server was friendly. The music selection was good (early 2000s pop mix at the time) and not overbearingly loud.Parking can be a little rough depending on the time. The lot is shared by another restaurant, dry cleaning, subway and a day care center. When we arrived, the lot was packed, but by the time we left, there was plenty of spaces.

This was a delicious find with great food and great service. From out of town and in the area for a concert. Saw the good reviews and the food we tried did not disappoint! We ordered the 1/2 chicken garlic lemon sauce, 3 wings with mild sauce and one large side of peri fries with an extra 2 empanadas. The chicken was extremely moist both wings and the 1/2 chicken. The mild sauce is a little hot if you are a heat wimp like me. The lemon pepper was really good. My husband who can take the heat got a side of the extra hot sauce and enjoyed that along with the chili sauce that comes in the bottle that they bring to the table. We both really enjoyed the white garlic sauce. Dipping the seasoned peri fries in the garlic sauce was delicious. The chicken empanadas were nice and hot and had a great crust and filling flavor. Service was great and they bring out your food to you and were great with bringing us extra sauce when asked. Checked go to see how we were doing and if we liked our food. Inside is nice and clean with plenty of tables. It's sort of fast food like because of ordering at the counter but than they bring you your food out and on real dishes. If I saw one of these restaurants again, I would go and visit!

Great place for a quick lunch or dinner. I got the chicken wrap in medium spice and my husband got the same with very spicy. I recommend going up a spice level as my wrap was not very spicy. My daughters both enjoyed the lemon chicken at the lowest spice level. The star of the dinner for me was the spiced French fries. They were crispy and delicious. My daughter loves the max and cheese bites as well. The service was quick and the staff was friendly. The booths are huge and comfortable.

Stopped by this place on a rainy Thursday night. The place was empty but looked so welcoming and bright. I think it's a family owned business. Everyone I encountered was super friendly. The restaurant is very spacious with plenty seating, both booth and table options. They serve peri peri chicken, lamb, and vegetarian rice bowls, wraps and platter. I for some reason opted for a beef burger and it did not disappoint. I'm typically a medium rare person on my burger but since you don't get an option the well done burger I received was flavorful and not dry!! The burger was topped with onion, tomato, lettuce, sweet pickle and perimayo. I decided to wash my sandwich down with one of their delicious mocktail options, Peach mojito. The mojito was nice and refreshing without a mint overkill. I highly recommend this place for friendly service, spacious environment and well prepared food. I hope to see this place packed the next time I stop in.
