When the previous bbq place at this location closed, I was fairly sad. There's not a lot of good spots to pop in for lunch. So, I was really excited when this place popped up in that location. It honestly looks identical to the old restaurant, and I suspect someone just took it over. The menu is seemingly the same. I ordered a pulled pork bbq sandwich platter, with fries and mac. It also comes with pickled veggies and a bag of crisps. The sandwich came quickly and was slathered with bbq sauce. The sauce is a bit sweet for me -- honestly it reminds me of "sweet baby ray," and I would not be shocked to find out they're using it -- but it was tasty. The pork was flavourful, though I do wish there was something else on the bun, too. The mac was fantastic, and you can taste the cheeses in the mix. Gouda, I think? Whatever, it's good. It's really rich and I couldn't finish it. Wimp. The pickles are the best part, though they're spicy. Overall, a nice addition to the Mt Wash area.

I checked out this newly opened bbq spot for lunch today with a friend. It's a very small operation in which the owner both takes the orders and cooks. He was extremely kind and greeted my friend and me as soon as we walked in. Our food came out pretty quickly (in about 10-15 minutes). I ordered the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese as a side, and my friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese. The first bites of our meals were heaven. I found the meat to be well seasoned and extremely tender. I loved the bbq sauce and wish I had ordered a little extra for my sandwich. It was quite warm in the restaurant, but the heat is honestly miserable everywhere right now so I'm not sure how much of that is on the owner. All in all, it's a great spot for a delicious meal, and I would come back!

Great ribs, fries and potato salad from super-friendly chef. Adding them to takeout rotation!

You MUST get the beans ( loaded with smoked brisket) Had the smoked wings. Excellent choice. Also got the smoked crab cakes . Yes I said SMOKED crab cakes. Another good choice. Only I would hope for less filler . Flavor was outstanding. The place is basically a carry out with a few tables you could dine at. I'll definitely be back to try other items ( catfish) Staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

Service was great. Food size was ok and bbq tasted great. Sides were a little lacking

First time visit but we are now definitely fans of their brisket and the BBQ sauce they use! We tried a couple of their sides and I would recommend them in this order:1. Coleslaw or Fries (both very tasty) 2. Mac and Cheese The staff was very friendly as well so we will be back!

I really wanted to like this place as we live locally. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed in our meal. The quality and cost/portion were a bummer. My pulled sandwich was small and rather tasteless and there were no sides or pickled veggies (as described on menu)- just meat on a bun for $16. The Mac and cheese was 90% hardened cheese top and additionally was a very small amount for the $6 charge. The $10 cheesecake was a mini cheesecake, with average taste- I can buy the same quality/size at Whole Foods for 2.99. I'm happy to pay these prices but expect a better quality of food. Sadly, we will not be returning. Online ordering and the young man behind the counter were all great. This review is purely on the meal.

We got takeout from this great new little bbq spot in Mt Washington tonight. If you love smoked, well seasoned bbq then check them out. The bbq sauce is incredible-- order a couple extra. My partner also loved the spicy pickled veg that came with her meal. We can't wait to come back and try the brisket.

I had a taste for some Southern BBQ. I searched high and low on Google and Yelp and found this place with 5-star reviews. And let me tell you, this "Brotha" knows his BBQ! His sauce is out of this world. I had the smoked chicken and pulled pork platter with string beans and mac & cheese. So well- seasoned. And for dessert, a delicious mini chocolate chip cheesecake. Everything was absolutely mouthwatering!

Good cooking. I had crab cakes. Wasn't busy at lunch time. Will be back. 85 words are a lot.
