Traders Seafood Steak and Ale

I came here for brunch before hitting the road with my boyfriend, and there was no wait at the bar and high top tables so we did that. The bar is a bit too dark for having a meal, but not complaining since we choose to not wait for a table.The bartender gave me the southern grandma vibe, she knows couple customer's "the usual" orders and she knows her way around the bar. I ordered the Chesapeake benedict (2 benedicts with crab meat on each) with fries (more like sliced potato crisp), and it was pretty good. The ingredients werr fresh, the crab meat on top of the benedicts were VERY fresh and generous portioned. The potatoes were lack of a bit salt, but you can add that by yourself.We also ordered a cup of the creamy crab soup, and ong that was the best crab soup I've had. I live in Virginia Beach and there's nowhere that can top this. Crazy amount of super fresh crab meat, the soup itself was smooth and full of crab flavor, and unlike the old bay soup in VB, this ome didn't need much old bay and yet flavorful enough to make me regret not getting the bowl or even a pot if they offer that option.

Perhaps because I haven't been to a really good smorgasbord in about four years, I failed to heed other Yelpers' warnings about the pitiful breakfast buffet. Now I can add my voice to the chorus of naysayers: the breakfast buffet at Traders is, at best, on par with a complimentary breakfast provided by a chain budget hotel. Despite the lackluster food, service was prompt, and the coffee was adequate.

Well, I made a trip from the Gulf Coast to the Maryland shore, wondering what to do for dinner, I thought, "What is Maryland known for?" Crab cakes! So, I found a quaint and quiet restaurant that a descent amount of reviews. I figured I would try it out. The crab cakes didn't disappoint. I ordered them fried and they were lightly fried, very moist, and very good. Not soggy. Large portions.The service was great! We had pleasant conversations. Family feel to the establishment. It was fun! When in Chesapeake Beach, I recommend Traders, ask for Britney. She won't steer you wrong!

We've driven by this place a bunch of times and never went. Well today stopped by here for the first time. We started with the calamari and crab soup. The crab soup was wonderful, could use a little old bay but great. The calamari was okay and a little chewy, certainly nothing to write home about. We also got the fried seafood platter, and that's really where things went south. The shrimp were overcooked, the oysters slightly undercooked. The flounder tasted old, and the clams were just rough. The service was slow to start but overall not bad. Bella made sure that drinks were timely, and the table was cleared throughout the meal. All in all, we came we saw and I don't think we have a reason to go back.

I enjoyed my first experience at Traders. The dishes are plentiful & can be shared if needed. Their outside seating was cool too.

Decent food but slightly pricy for what you get. Kinda a nice place to eat but the food was very standard. Reminds me of Waffle House (which I like once in a while)

The food was good. Needs more flavor in some areas. Steak was cooked to perfection. Only thing I would say is with the Chesapeake steak. Do not get the gravy that comes with it. I would say that needs to be taken off the menu. That steak is good without it. The ambiance of the restaurant is small town bar feel. Their menu is also good waitresses too. I would come back and try some different things.

Delicious seafood and crab dip plus slot machines! I've never experienced a place like this before but I'll definitely be back and hopefully hitting the jackpot.

Crab imperial... seasoned to perfection... delicious Loaded baked potato... goodSteamed brocolli... nice & tender... goodSeafood quesadilla... packed with crabmeat and shrimp and lots of cheese *which can become a lil chewy*.... but good

The calamari was absolutely delicious and came in a generous portion - definitely a highlight of the meal! However, I found the food overall to be quite pricey for what it was. The steak was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, something didn't sit right, as I experienced some indigestion afterward. While the flavors had their moments, the experience didn't quite justify the cost for me.
