The Rec Room

We visited The Rec Room last night to catch Indeadnation (local Grateful Dead cover band) and had a blast!Wear your tie-dye and join the tribe every first Friday during good weather. We sat at the bar (of course) and had the Black & Bleu burger and the chicken quesadilla. And OMG the sweet potato fries are So Good here.We had excellent service at the bar and enjoyed the whole Towson-y vibe in the shadow of the old Hutzler's building.Be sure to tip the band and your server!

Stopped in to watch the Ravens game... they had the game on w/ sound so that was great. Sat at the bar and service was good. Ordered wings (which were half off, yay!) and crab dip. I guess they were out of the pretzel bites that come w/ the crab dip so they sub'd fried pita chips. Crab dip was a little salty but otherwise food was good. Overall, prices are very reasonable.

After driving 9 hours in the car, we did not want to cook dinner. So, off we went to The Rec Room for their Half Price Burger Night. My husband enjoyed a Blue Cheese Burger cooked medium rare with French Fries. I was more traditional this time and had a Cheeseburger with American Cheese and sauteed onions with French Fries. The burgers were perfectly cooked and the fries were crisp and hot. Brandon, the chef, stopped by the table to introduce himself, and we were delighted to have the chance to tell him personally how much we enjoyed the burgers. We did take a slice of Sweet Potato pie home for dessert later, and it was delicious. Kelly, our server, is always so welcoming and friendly. The Rec Room never disappoints!

The best bar to go to if you're underage !!! They'll let you right in with your fake id. Don't even worry. If terrible music and rude bartenders are your thing, look no further. The only bouncer that does his job is the one who sits at the front. The line of underage kids to get in the back entrance stretches a quarter mile every Thursday and Saturday. The most recent time I came here I dropped my ID on the floor and the next night I called and asked about it and they told me they had it. Two days went by and I asked one of my friends if he could pick it up for me. He drove there and tried to get it for me but the bartender refused to let him pick it up, I guess the policy is that it has to be whoever's ID it is. He asked why and she told him that it could be a fake which is why he can't get it. Make it make sense please. 2/3 of the people that patronize this place aren't even 21, their id is either someone else's real Id or a fake.I drove 30 minutes out of my way today to come get it, and they're telling me that they don't have it. Absolutely ridiculous. They have it one day but the next day they don't.My blood is boiling.

If you want to hang out with 17-19 year olds come here. They'll let anyone in. Not fun for adults. Careful you might catch a charge. This is a first hand experience. They often skip ID's or don't bother to check if they are real. I also have proof of minors drinking inside of the building.

The people who work here are absolutely terrible. Me and my friend were in town from a different state and wanted to have a fun night out so we went to go into Rec Room, the bouncer grabs my friends ID doesn't even look at her face or the id, and just shakes his head no. Does the same thing to me, claiming our IDS were fake. I suggest actually training your employees on being able to see if IDs are real or not, instead of assuming they are fake because they are from a different state. He told us to go check with someone else in the back and they were saying the same thing, that they were fake. They were so rude about it too and wouldn't tell us why they thought they were fake. We went to a bar after that had scanners they scanned our IDS in and let us in easy, unlike Rec Room where they have bouncers who are clearly stupid.

Had an awesome spinach salad with grilled tuna yesterday for lunch. Crazy healthy alternative on a summer day!

I thought I'd get a less expensive drink before my show at the Recher next door, but ended up paying $10 for a flat draft beer. Big booooo!!!!

Nice place for a good time , staff was friendly and they did asked for my id, I'm 53 lol, the crab burger was great, beer excellent, we played some pool nice 80s music, we had a great time, definitely will go back . Thank you

This is definitely not the place to go for an Adult night out. Underaged children swarm this place weekly. The bouncers seem to not care and let them in regardless of wether or not their ID is fake. One night I went to grab a drink in their outside smoking area and I overheard a group of girls talking I guess about this security guard Mario that can get all underaged teens in. Police are usually posted on York road so you'd think that officers would be able to notice children walking into a club but who know nowadays. I asked around and apparently that's a culture there at Recroom. A lot of messy sloppy children who don't know how to hold their liquor. Very unsanitary probably due to the frequent use from underaged drunks with no home training. A more adult space with better setting and no underaged children, is definitely Backyard or Kent House if you just want a good brew. C&R is cool if you like solely country music... As a resident of Towson since 2007 this place should really be shut down.
