The Pier has a new name and is under new ownership & management. It is now Coconut Joe's (as it was a few years ago). We had lunch there today, and everything is GREATLY improved. We were totally impressed. We ordered the Deviled Eggs Chesapeake. They came out with a huge chunk of jumbo lump crabmeat on each egg. The cream of crab soup was excellent (the serving sizes are more like a bowl, not a cup, so the prices were very reasonable for the quantity served). We asked to sit in the back (inside upper deck), where the bartenders take care of you. Our server was Callie, and she was very pleasant.Lunch is a great time to go if you want to linger and chat while enjoying the food & the view.

I guess everyone was at the beach because my friend and I got great seat right on the water. What a gorgeous view!! Even when it poured it was great. We split the calamari which could have been crisper. I had some banging rockfish tacos. My friend got the mango shrimp salad. That looked super fresh. We both had crushes of various types that was fresh and tasty. Service got a little spotty as the evening went on but all in all a nice night. Will go back with the kid for the play area and ice cream.

We were visiting David's son and grandson and we wanted some place to have an early dinner. First we went to Annapolis and it was packed this Memorial Day weekend. So Matthew took us to the Pier which was on the water. I wasn't very excited because it was crowded and there were picnic benches to sit on. Plus it didn't look like anyone cleaned under the tables. There was a kid's playground adjacent to the restaurant, where the kids could play while the parent ate. There was live music-that was a plus! We moved to high tops in the bar and it was much cleaner and easier for us to sit. We ordered a variety of food , wings and mussels for appetizers. The mussels were amazing and we were totally surprised. I had salmon with Parmesan glaze, broccoli and a side of pickled beets which was an additional up charge of $4. Dave had a fried grouper sandwich which was short on the grouper, but had lots of fries. The negative thing was that we were all sharing the appetizers and the person bringing them neglected to bring any plates. All in all we had a great time with the family and the lovely view!

The Pier Restaurant Edgewater is a cozy little restaurant nestled off the beaten path not far from Annapolis Mall. They do not have lot on their menu, which believe it or not made it hard to choose. LolFor drinks my daughter and I started off with a Frozen Pineapple Margarita (for my daughter) and a Frozen Pina Colada (for me). The Pina Colada is one of the best that I've ever had.We ordered Guacamole and Chips for an appetizer. OMG this is up there with the best guacamole that I've ever had. The guacamole and chips were both very fresh. As an entree my daughter ordered the Loaded Hen, which consisted of grilled chicken, cheese, bacon and bbq sauce over rice with seasonal vegetables. It was a nice size portion. She said it was delicious. She ate half and took half home for dinner.I ordered the Taco Salad, which consisted of lean ground beef, lettuce, havarti cheese, tomatoes, onions, sour cream (on the side) and salsa (on the side) in a crunchy fried tortilla bowl. This salad was very good. I cannot believe I ate the whole thing. I kept eating because it was so good. I cannot believe I ate the whole thing. I should have done like my daughter and eaten half and saved the other half for later. I paid for it all the way to the car. I was so full in a good way. LolWe got a slice of Strawberry Smith Island Cake and a slice of Cheese Cake to go. They were both delicious.I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back.

Great service and amazing views! The Pier is a great place to relax and hang out with friends. There is a lot of space to accommodate larger groups and there are multiple bars, so quenching your thirst is easier and more convenient. Our experience was enhanced by the amazing weather. It was a perfect evening. I was there with a large group. I didn't have the full culinary experience, I just snacked on a few items that others ordered, but the food I did taste was great. I will need to return and focus on the food. The ambience is so amazing, I recommend anyone visiting Annapolis to stop by this place. In my opinion, spring and fall evenings are best.

My husband is there right now and I referred him to their Yelp page for some light entertainment to go with the light fare we always get just to get our kids out of the house to socialize at "The Pirate Ship Playground". It's occupying the kids who are impossible to take anywhere solo except a handful of places. This allows a tired mother to get a few things done on my end with then out of the house. Just exchanged messages with my husband. The kids are having a blast and the food is consistently good. As for service and speed of turnaround, I honestly can't weigh in we're distracted by the kids. If it's a long wait I wouldn't know. With our kids time flies. But my instincts are always "tuned in" and my gut feels that the critics are "unique" to the norm of service we receive. We just "go", it's not centered on an occasion that might be widely celebrated with "dinner out" along with the rest of town. If you go during rush and are met with a lengthy waits, as the reviews dominate and impress upon others, thats NOT the "majority experience". Again, I'm not watched by the clock, we go "on a whim" and actually avoid widespread celebrations/holiday dates. Our kids get restless, no restaurant is worth going to what we can easily predict will spoil all enjoyment. To tired parents of bored energetic or lonely children. Go with an open mind. If you don't you could be denying yourself a pleasant place to take your kids, eat decent food at a fair price while they burn energy with other kids.. I'm going to keep rating every time we go. If anything is valid to the critics it has my objective awareness and I'll rate and explain with objective fairness EVERY TIME.

Barely 2 stars for SUCH BAD SERVICE! Wow, I haven't been talked to like that for quite some time. There were 3 bartender/servers working our table or the bar (when I had to get up twice to get myself and our party drinks after waiting about 15 or so minutes). The first was absolutely rude, the second, not rude, but not nice or welcoming and the third was normal so-so service. Here's an example from server #1....Me: " my wife is deciding between these two drinks, do you recommend one over the other?"Bartender: "I don't care, just tell me what you want".Ooookaay.

This place is absolute trash. I have celiac disease, and they have gluten free markers on the menu, but they are all wrong. I was insured multiple times by the waitress that the crab cakes were gluten free and had no bread crumbs or anything in them. I then started eating them and quickly realized they had a binder that was suspicious. I asked her again, and she ensured me that they were gluten free and that gluten free people get them all the time. I cautiously continued eating and she then came back after I had eaten almost an entire crab cake to tell me that they have panko bread crumbs in them. I then talked to the manager about changing the menu, and his only response was, "yeah this happens a lot". They didn't make me pay for the crab cakes that glutened me but had no real sense of remorse otherwise. If I could give them zero stars I would.UPDATE: My friend who doesn't have celiac got food poisoning from eating a hamburger, also. So, they will get you sick whether you have an autoimmune disorder/allergy or not.

We found the staff to be outstanding, and the four dishes we ordered were outstanding. It has an awesome atmosphere, and is on the water. Will recommend to friends and go again when in the area.

Avoid! It's gone down hill! The food was bad- soggy fried- the seafood was not fresh! They took a lot of there stuff off the menu like the fish and chips which were so good! It really was not worth the price and all the drinks are served in flimsy plastic cups! There are many better restaurants down the road
