Customer service - 4.5 out of 5Wait time - 5 out of 5Cleanliness - 5 out of 5Atmosphere - 4 out of 5Food quality - 4 out of 5If you're craving exceptional Chinese food with generous portions, delightful flavors, and reasonable prices, look no further than The Orient. Conveniently located in the heart of Bel Air, this restaurant offers easy parking options. You can find limited parallel parking on Main Street or ample spaces in the rear.Weekdays see a bustling crowd of local workers enjoying their lunches, while weekends remain pleasantly quiet. This makes it an ideal spot for a peaceful dining experience with swift and friendly service. The food quality at The Orient is outstanding. While the complimentary crispy noodles can be a tad greasy, they pair wonderfully with sweet and sour sauce or as an addition to soup. However, rice lovers might be disappointed by the small portion provided. Extra white rice costs $2.95, and fried rice is available for $4.95, though the quality is merely average. In summary, I highly recommend The Orient to friends and family. On my next visit, I'm eager to try their Peking Duck! With a score of 22.5 out of 25, I give this restaurant an A-

The service was quick as soon as sat down. This was our first time so we got a little of everything and had plenty of leftovers. The dumplings were so good! Chewy and had great flavor. The spare ribs were great - they were my boyfriend's favorites things. The duck was amazing and crispy, and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. My favorite was the Ho Fun with Beef. Great flavor, chewy noodles, and so addicting. The house fried rice was also very good and gave lots of leftovers. Overall, I loved this place and would keep going! Not many places in Bel Air serve Asian food like this. There is also a sushi bar here but we don't do the sushi.

The apparent new ownership has ruined what was once a great restaurant. This last, and I mean last, experience was a disaster and I would recommend you don't even bother giving them a shot to ruin your meal. To start, ordering for delivery requires you to go through Door Dash. They add about 25% to the price of the regular menu on top of another 18% in "service fees" and that is before a tip to the driver. Highway robbery! Then when we drove downtown to pick up our meal, we were given the wrong order by a woman who could not have been more rude. She stated that we must have ordered from the "other Orient Express" so I was mistaken but I replied that I simply pressed redial to call back in. Then she asked me to hold. Subsequently she proceeded to hang up on me. Then I called right back. She answered and put me on hold right away. I sat waiting for her to pick up the phone for a very long time, and when she came back, I stated that she hung up on me and my order was screwed up. I could hear the disappointing "OH" in her voice when she realized I hadn't just hung up because I was wrong. She then proceeded to tell us that she gave us the wrong order and ours was sitting there waiting and we'd have to drive back downtown to pick it up. When my wife went back with the wrong order in hand, she refused to compensate us for their mistake in any way, shape or form or to take any ownership in the said mistake. When asked if they were going to compensate for the screw up, she said, you know, we can't do anything like that. As for the quality of the food preparation, I ordered shrimp Pad Thai, which was probably the worst tasting Pad Thai I've ever had. There was no peanut flavor at all, it was just noodles and soy sauce, without any attempt to resemble Pad Thai. We also ordered fried wontons that were clearly steamed and slightly seared on the top and bottom to look like they were fried and the egg drop soup had very little taste. My wife had the Singapore rice noodles and that was disgusting. On top of the incredibly bad customer service, when we finally got to try our order, the food was just as bad.Needless to say, we will never be going back to this place, and I will advise on every platform for people to steer clear of this "train wreck on the Orient Express".

Second best Chinese in Bel Air. So many of the take-out and dine-in Chinese in the area is bland and all of the dishes tend to taste the same, but the Orient is pretty good.

This place doesn't look like much when you walk past, or inside for that matter. However, the service was excellent and the food was amazing! The serving sizes were huge. Don't skip the egg rolls and spicy mustard. Definitely a must try for Chinese food!

I have been a loyal customer to the Orient for 15 years when they were in Towson and then when they joined Bel Air. I called this evening to place an order and was cursed out by the manager. When placing my order I discovered by asking that they changed the policy for spicy meals and hot oil on the side that had been free. No big deal if there is a new charge, but apparently the policy changed 4 years ago and they didn't feel the need to communicate it. I asked for the manager to call me back to learn more and when he calls me back he blames me and begins cursing me out repeatedly "I don't f****ing care," and screaming it at me. When I asked why he was cursing at me he said, "It's not my f***ing problem." I will never again return to the Orient.

I have been going to the Orient restaurant in Towson since the 90's. I was hesitant to try this location because I didn't know if it would be as good. Everything was amazing! Just as good as I remembered and I was so impressed they were able to be so consistent for so long. We had the California rolls, sesame chicken, green beans and triple delight. Everything was delicious!!!

food quality has really gone downhill from a couple of years ago. tried a few different dishes just to see if it was consistent. the only good item was the rice but decently-made rice is available in a lot of places locally. staff seemed detached and a little cold our final visit and the place was mostly empty with a quiet vibe that felt more depressing than intimate. we were disappointed as we typically order for our group movie nights a couple times a month but we decided not to go back.
