Love being around the corner from this butcher - clearly the quality of meat here is above the rest! Service is also super helpful if you have questions or are not sure what/how much to buy! I'll definitely be back - New York strip steak and hot dogs were stand outs to me!

Amazing little butcher. Had to stop while mtg a friend of mine in the area and they were already closed but let and my friends daughter in to use the facilities. Love the vibe and will definitely try to get back to try their array of wines and some yummy looking chocolate salted caramels.

The issue I have is with the business saying they have local meats when the meat is not local?! Yes, they have local farm foods in the frozen section, but not fresh meat. I think they are being beyond misleading with the local claims to put it kindly. With all the farms locally (for the purpose of meat/produce is generally refers to within a 2 hour radius), I do not understand why someone cannot sell some local fresh meat. Between PA and VA, we are more than covered without even throwing in good old Maryland. I literally talk to people in Arizona who order meat from Lancaster. Granted it is frozen, but that just goes to show you the scope of what we have locally when people all over the country are ordering meat from "here." On top of that the meat sold at Organic Butcher is not grass finished. Again, not saying that's an absolute requirement, but you would think it would be. So far, it looks like I will have to drive to Cockeysville or Baltimore to find fresh local meat which sucks since I live in Montgomery County. If you want local frozen, yes, check out the Polyface Farms case here. Or these fantastic local farms which have pickup points:Smith MeadowsPolyfaceWhiffletree FarmsPurifying PasturesButtercup Farms - Fantastic raw dairy. or head to Mary's Land Farm in Clarksville, MD for great stuff and an on the farm shopping experience. Drive slow. Organic Butcher does have some great products, and I'd love to support them, but I'd also love them to support our local farmers.

Ordered 5 lb quarter inch flanken cut shortribs for galbi. Looked overly thick at the shop. Asked, "are those really quarter-inch?" Got an affirmative response and trusted the butcher. Yeah. Turns out they were over 0.5" thick (5/8" by my measure). Which made for some embarrassingly thick caveman galbi at my dinner party. Meat quality was fine. But the cutting debacle combined with the butcher doubling down on an untruth when asked directly just means I can't trust these folks to follow simple instructions or to be honest with me with a $100+ order. So yeah. One and done. Won't be back.

Even the leftovers the next day were incredible. I'm speechless. I really can't stress just how good this place is.

Great customer service. Friendly. Tons of great local products. Beautiful selection of fish and meat. I came for a specific reason: wagyu. I bought a Japanese A5 ribeye. Cooked it as recommended by the customer service rep. It was perfect. Compared to ordering wagyu at a restaurant this is great value. Can't wait to try more that the shop has to offer.

Good selection of products and great service! Love that one can get pastured and even regenerative meat there. The store is nice and clean. Definitely going back.

I believe in consumer protection and service . At first I was so excited to have found a place that would offer Carpaccio cuts for the home . Quaint atmosphere but service not tranparent . I had to order it the night before which is reasonable . They asked me what type of beef and I picked the best . When I went to pick it up I was given a fully wrapped package . Did not get the opportunity to see the quality of the prosciutto cut or beef quality . Naive me expected top quality with all this " organic and butcher sales pitch " I got to the counter the young lady said that she needed to weigh it . I said all wrapped up ? Oh yes we have an average for the packaging we take out . i was about to tell her what I had ordered but figured i better ask how much weight they were selling to me . I had ordered 8 ounces . At this point she said it was a little less than but I did not catch the amount . I decided to go along my way . When I opened the package it was sadly disappointing , not only was the cut not Carpaccio thin it was full of fat veins . it Had a few oxidized sections . I consumed it the same day and crossed my fingers I would digest it well since I stopped eating red meat on a regular basis years ago . Even at the Supermarket when you buy Roast beef they show you the quality of the meat you are about to purchase . Everyone was very cordial but I expected higher transparency .
