The Landing Strip

Passed by here many times and never stopped until today.First thing you see when enter is the bar, followed by high tops and then regular tables and chairs.Our server was also the bartender and I asked what dish(s) do they do well, she gave a few recommendations, but the best for last. A crab cake special. It was a 7-8oz crab cake with 2 sides. $20. That's what we both got. Sides were Brussel sprouts a hand cut fries.Wow, it looked really good when it came out. I finished the fries first, they were cut really thin and cooled quickly. The crab cake had a strange taste to it. It was fish, of all things! I had never heard of it anywhere, so I asked my gf if she had ever heard ot it. She said yes, it is sometimes used as a filler. Another outstanding thing was I could not taste any seasoning, very light Old Bay if at all. Nothing but s/p on the table. The Brussel sprouts had a little heat to them,I thought maybe white pepper, no, she said honey Sriracha, they were very good.Since they do have daily specials, listed on a chalkboard sign by the dining room, we will probably give it another try. But not the crabcakes. Will call first.Military discount.

I stopped by here for a drink last night and enjoyed the experience. The bar service was good and the place was pretty busy.

I was told the soft opening was Monday, and the grand opening was Wednesday.Upon entry:Inside looks great.Staff is super friendly.Patrons engaging well w/staff. Local patrons were comfortably seated at the bar and in the restaurant. All seemed elated to have their local watering hole reopened.Perhaps my food selections need some fine tuning. The rock fish bite appetizer was served on the plate like four decent sized chicken tenders almost similar to a kid's meal. Once bitten into, however, the external breading turned shiny and saturated from internally escaping grease. To add the dipping sauce only added the flavor. I just couldn't continue with them after eating two. Too much grease. A nearby patron inquired about the fish bites. (I arrived as she and her husband had just finished a huge platter of nachos.) My sentiment was validated when she audibly and visibly winced as I showed her the saturation of my breaded fish.I asked my bartender for a medium rare burger instead. I was able to eat my burger (delivered dry, overcooked) and home cooked chips (tasty) nonetheless.The Manager did address and resolve my concerns. I am grateful to Priscilla, the bartender, who was a gracious host, honest with her insight, and for alerting the Manager for a resolution. How else would they know and refine their practices?I hope to return to this long ago favorite in the near future. I cannot stress enough how essential it is for a local bar/restaurant's survival to offer the best quality in menu selections when their target market is a beer drinking crowd. I really hope this new version of an old favorite, The Landing Strip, can hone in on their food quality and keep the air under their wings while moving forward

Was there for a girl date last weekend Server was more concerned with having fun with the bar patrons than taking care of us had to ask for silverware and napkins etcFood was just okThe lemon chicken orzo soup was so much chicken Was good but really, more orzo would be better it was supposed to be soupNot just chicken I feel like they could have a really good thing here but their focus is in the wrong placesLogan should care more about her servingAll the tables in there are empty for a reason

Had lunch here this afternoon. *The* best cheesesteak sub I have ever had. Sister had a turkey something that was delicious as well. Will absolutely be going back!

Tried to enjoy a nice get together on a Saturday night, bar staff seemed more interested in getting more intoxicated than their patrons, was able to witness one disorderly fight between a bartenders friends and another young lady. Should have been the first red flag before the bar staff assaulted one of our friends wife after a 20% tip wasn't good enough for them. Instead of a good buzz our friend left with a black eye and a laceration. Would not recommend unless you bring boxing gloves and headgear.

The kitchen is awesome... my favorite is rockfish bites and a dynamite burgers. Bartenders are fantastic.... and the places is always clean.

Thursdays are two for one drinks and they make a good orange crushNice clean atmosphere Downside is tough to find parking even with the overflowBigger downside is the any band that plays. They are usually ok but they think blasting their music makes them sound better. It does not. Everyone clapped when they finally took a break. The music would have been better at half the volume.

We happened upon this place as a last minute plan to grab a few drinks and some eats. The drinks were decent and the food was as well. The place isn't the largest, but suitable for what we needed. There was a band playing that might've been a bit loud for such a small area IMO. But that could just be my age showing- most others seemed to enjoy them without issue. All in all things were decent and met expectations. I've heard from others they were pricey. I did not find that to be true until I paid our tab and learned that while all other drinks and plates were your average price. 6 shots of Casamigos was $60!! No matter which way you slice that one- it doesn't make sense. I'm not sure where this leaves me on whether I will ever return again. I do know for sure... I'll never buy another shot. Go for the food. Stay for the music. Stick with the beer.

The service was slow and lousy. got seated and no silverware or napkins . thLoegan B was not happy to see anybody! my got her food after awhile sitting there, My crab soup was not good, to much veg. and a lot of garbage. very little meat. my crab cake was suppose to be lump but mostly filler in it. i will post a picture of it and let me know if you see any lump meat!!!! I will not every go back agin anf i will let my friends know. i already did on Facebook. next time i will go to by the dock way better food and customer service.
