Good sandwiches out of a warehouse. Strictly kosher. Really is just a catering company.

I stopped into the Knish shop desperate for a good sandwich, and they did not disappoint. I ordered a sandwich with pastrami, corned beef, etc., and it was definitely a good sandwich, and good sized. It comes with cookies and a drink for what I thought was a great price. The store is definitely a disorganised mess, though. Its not dirty, and its not the kind of place where I'm uncomfortable eating their food, but it desperately needs to be cleaned - stuff is just randomly scattered around, and what not. It leaves you wondering if they're just moving into the spot, or about to move out, though neither is true. Disconcertingly, some of it appears to be food -- there were some plastic containers with food just tucked here or there. They looked fresh, but ... wowza.Someone pointed out that they don't have a menu -- they do. Its a single printed page, which they have ... only one of. I couldn't find it at first, either. It's near the register, and there was another customer there who had set her stuff on top of it (though, with current situation, not like I was going to stand next to her anyhow). They could definitely do for a board or something over top. Alternatively, maybe they could spend an extra ten cents and photo copy the menu a few times. :P

Home made knishes. Very tasty. If you are looking for the flat knishes that you would find at hot dog vendors in NY or the northeast.... this is not it

I am surprised to see so many positive reviews when my experience was SO mediocre. I picked up a takeout meal before a flight: sandwich (pastrami & corned beef sub), pickle, and chips. It's a knish joint so I had to get a knish. Potato. I'm one of those who "never met a potato I didn't like". So obviously this will be a winner.Ate on the plane. Sandwich: Nothing special. Coulda been a ham sandwich. Knish: terrible, mealy, no flavor. I didn't take more than 2 bites, couldn't bear to eat any more. I doubt I would return

This place is AWESOME! The food is seriously great and very creative. The prices are exactly what you would expect at any kosher meat place on the east coast. I don't get the few reviews from complainers - I don't think they have ever seen prices from kosher restaurants or takeaway in the US!Even better than the in-store food is their catering. Top-notch. I have had their catering at numerous events and it is always a favorite by all the guests. 5 stars, for sure.

Avoid this place at all costs. Calling the food mediocre is kind. Calling the place filthy is accurate.Let's face it - you will get gouged for kosher food. The sandwiches are nothing special but the prices sure are.Above the cases in which the food is kept, there are extension cords running the length of the cases. They are covered with dust, dirt, and debris. When I got my sandwich, I checked inside as I was legitimately fearful if a little surprise had fallen into my food. It's just nasty. There are a lot of kosher food options in Pikesville. Exercise your options and stay away from the this place. To be fair, I visited a month ago this experience. Thinking it was a bad day for them, I refrained from posting. But after visiting yesterday and having the identical experience, it's now more than fair to put them on blast. The Knish Shop has truly earned their one star.

The Knish shop did some catering for me and it was really great! The wraps were delicious and even came on wooden serving trays that I can keep for future events. They were on time and we will definitely order again.thank you!

This place is to good kosher food as Joseph Mengele was to medical care. It is awful. No rye bread, no ice for my soda, and my wife was served the wrong sandwich. The pastrami and the corned beef did not compare to the quality in NY. The food was simply not good. The help mumbles and is barely responsive. The place looks dead and there is a reason for that. The only plus is that the sour pickle is good.
