The James Joyce Irish Pub & Restaurant

Finding a parking spot on the street outside will be tough but if one likes Irish pub food with live music, coming here will be worth it. When Diane and I entered late at night after driving to Dover, Delaware and back, we were greeted by two men strumming guitars onstage while singing Irish ballads. Both very hungry, we settled into the chairs at the dining table we were assigned; swiftly ordered food; and soon afterward I gobbled down four halves of zesty Irish Deviled Eggs with Red Wine Vinaigrette. Then we both made quick work of our individual orders of Fish & Chips, made with great Hake couched inside a battered crust that held in the heat. The Fries were also excellent. And we received friendly and very competent service from our server, Hilary P.

Food was delicious, as was the beer.I really recommend the Guinness stew. My friend got a Reuben and really enjoyed that.

I stopped by late on a Thursday evening for a bite to eat because I was hungry. Average noise level for a pub with TVs playing sports. The staff are attentive and nice. I ordered the honey Old Bay wings with a side of ranch, along with a black truffle grilled cheese and fries. I couldn't decide on a cocktail, so I stuck with water. The food was so good. The wings were fried to a perfect crisp and evenly coated with honey Old Bay. The grilled cheese had the perfect cheese pull, and the fries were nice and crispy. It was so good that I'll definitely be going back to make sure it wasn't just my hunger talking. Ten out of ten--definitely recommend.

I drive past James Joyce everyday on my way back from work and always see people inside having a great time. After going for the first time, I truly understand why! We got seated quickly into a big booth, good view of many screens to watch the O's game. Our server checked in on us a lot and offered suggestions for drinks. The mule was ok but I want to come back to try some of the other drinks! The grilled cheese was DIVINE, so crispy and chewy at the same time and black truffle gave it a little something extra. The tomato soup was more like a bisque which is what I prefer with grilled cheese on a rainy day! The fries were yummy and perfectly salted. Overall, more and more people trickled in from the game and the service continued with our server checking in multiple times. For how busy it was, I'm surprised by how quick they were! Can't wait to come back!

What a blast from the Emerald Isle! What an experience to come here and enjoy live music every weekday while watching a game on tv and enjoying an amazing selection of spirits and beer. Loved the staff, they were excellent, made great recommendations based on interest and likings really walked away a bit tipsy and very full. Highly recommend to enjoy some amazing decor and excellent atmosphere!

Visited here several times, usually for a late night bite. Today I stopped in for happy hour and tried their burger & fries... pretty good. I'm picky about fries and these were delicious. Bartender Chris was so personable, nice and attentive.

This was a nice find on my recent trip to Baltimore. Scotch Egg was great, have not had that in a while. The double Pattie burger was top tier, juicy great flavor and messy. Service was nice, totally worth stopping in for a drink and some food.

Came in for a quick beer and appetizer. Happy hour had some great options and the staff was very friendly. They messed up our order a bit but were quick to correct it which was cool. Overall the appetizers were delicious and the atmosphere was really cool. I'd go back for sure!!

Food was decent and I'd return for the food if it wasn't for the service. I sat next to someone who knew the bartenders. Whenever they came over, they would just talk with him ignoring my empty glass. I had an appetizer and dinner before finally having to flag a bartender down for a glass of water and my check. I never got my second drink. On the way out, I asked the hostess if she can point me in the direction of the bathroom, but she told me to wait until she seated a customer.

Bar/pub place near inner harbor and hotels. I passed by twice before deciding to walk inside and check it out. Walk inside. You can't really see anything or get a sense for the place from the outside. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Worth a visit. Fairly busy for a Thursday night when I went last week
