A wonderful neighborhood gem!My mom has been raving about the his restaurant for months after visiting a couple of times. From the food to the staff to the ambiance, The Highlands is a much needed neighborhood staple. We went for a Saturday brunch and shared the fried green tomatoes, salmon cakes and shrimp & grits. I loved every single dish so much! They were packed with flavor and had unique presentation. While I don't live in the DC area anymore, I can't wait to visit The Highlands when I'm in town.

Branzino- pescatarians, you'll love love love itI couldn't believe it was on the menu, but after an extremely revealing workout it was the best reward. Branzino is hard to fix but they pair it w greens and red beans & rice. Yummy combo warning- the greens are DIFFERENT. But this dish should be their feature it is that good . Way to go Highlands.
