The bar and the stage

My best friend's younger sister had a milestone birthday party here and it was perfect. She rented the space and the layout was wonderful -- with a perfect balance of open standing space, tables, bar seats, and a photo booth. There was a preset menu for cocktails, mocktails, wines, and beer. Some of the mocktails were sweeter than my liking, but it was fine. The staff were awesome. The bartender was solo up until it turned into a cash bar -- she was working really hard! The music was at a great volume, and food was being passed around regularly. It's really a great space for having a private party. And on top of that, while it can fill up quickly, there's free street parking outside.I do wish the bathroom was lockable -- the stall within there is, but otherwise things could get awkward. Pro tip -- it's behind the stage.

If you are looking for an amazing wedding venue in Baltimore look no further than The Green Room. My partner and I got married there last September and from start to finish Ali and Chef Brian were out of this world to work with. My partner and his family are from Pittsburgh so we wanted to incorporate that into our wedding somehow. When we went for our tasting Chef Brian had made pierogies (something western PA is known for) for us to try to see if we wanted to serve them at our wedding. When I tell you I still salivate over just thinking about them it is not an exaggeration. SO FREAKING GOOD! On our actual wedding day Ali and her whole staff did an amazing job! Ali made sure that my husband and I had a plate of food set aside for us so we wouldn't miss out on the food since we were being pulled in every direction. It is that attention to detail that is so amazing. They know what you want even before you know you want it. Your wedding will live up to expectations if you have it at The Green Room at Blue bird.

Wife and I frequently come for the wonderful (and free!) bluegrass jam, as well as decent beer and bar food selection. They have a new system where you scan the QR code at the table. Food selection now seems more limited. After the meal, we were dismayed by a nearly 25% "delivery fee" that was tacked on to the bill (also new). Add to that, the bill defaults to adding an additional 20% tip. A burger with fries, four beers, a $14 plate of lettuce called a "bibb salad" ended up costing nearly $104! I asked the bartender to redo the bill to cancel out the additional 20%, but she couldn't figure out how to do it, so she handed me 14 singles (shorting me $0.50). She had also brought the wrong beer in the first round, then argued about it. My advice? There are lots of great establishments in Hampden. Get food and drink elsewhere, but catch the free jams at the Green Room on Tuesday nights!
