The Drinkery

This place is very unique to say the least. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I will give kudos to the ambiance of a normal old school bar that caters to mainly the black gay community and everyone seems to know each other very well. I believe this is the only one in town. It looks really outdated and just dirty behind the bar. The drinks are cheap and strong which is why people probably come back. Also, there is no food, don't come hungry like I did.The owner is super sweet though. Looks like he has definitely experienced life. Everyone really loves him.

A local dive bar in the Mount Vernon - Baltimore area catered to the LGBTQ+ community and thier straight allys! Juke box available and reasonable priced drinks! Everyone welcomed type of vibe! Every hour is happy hour! Gayborhood friendly bar! Leave the pretentious at home!

The guy at bar charged me for extra. I had 2 drinks for 8.50=4.25, i got 3 drinks an he charged me 25 dollars, don't put tab at this bar they will charge you whatever if they think you drunk enough

Oh dear. Even 2 weeks later I can feel the effects of the Long Island Iced Tea I ordered. Wow.This is your typical neighborhood fun bar but with a twist. While they don't serve food, the bar was packed and the customers around the bar were all in great spirits. We walked here from Grand Central, and felt safe doing so (FYI to other out-of-towners). The crowd was mixed; old, young, etc., but everyone was happy, though I felt somewhat like an outsider for some reason. So happy we came here, and even happier that Uber picked us up and brought us back to our hotel safely after a super strong LIT to end our bar-hopping night.

Had a great time at the Drinkery! Good happy hour specials and we were very welcome. Great service from the bartender.

Love this place. Most welcoming, kind, engaging bartenders ever. It's a big safe space for me. Love the crowd. Karaoke on Friday and Saturday's is a hit every time!!! They actually have the songs you wanna do. Good drink specials and the bartenders know how to make any drink you'd like. Highly recommend this place. Check it out

I'd say this is the worst experience I have ever had. Initially the guy at the door told me I couldn't go in because my I.D. is horizontal and not vertical. I told him the I.D. was valid and clearly displayed I was over 21...he said it was the "law" (I had been to 8 other bars in the area that weekend before this incident and had zero problems) and told me I could get in if I gave him $20...I obliged only because I was meeting a friend, also from out of town. Once inside the place was very dirty and stunk of marijuana. I ordered a Lager and the glass tasted like dish soap. The bathroom had broken glass on the floor and the sinks didn't work. Needless to say my friend and I left shortly after meeting up.

Went there last night after Artscape and really wanted to stay and hang out but I could not get past the face that it smelt like shit in there. LITERALLY.... Weird thing was no one seemed bothered by it lol smh....

I used to frequent The Drinkery regularly with my little brother when I lived in the area. It's usually a little cramped but always a good time.I stopped in again last weekend with my bro for a few drinks. We found a spot at the far end the bar and chatted with the owner, bartender and a couple of other patrons. My bro is a regular so he knows a lot of people. OZ, the bartender, was super cool. He chatted with us for quite awhile and made some pretty good drinks too. The drinks are STRONG and well worth the money because they're pretty cheap.It was pretty late so there wasn't any karaoke but that's usually a pretty good time too. I've had some of the best laughs drinking and watching people sing karaoke there.The bar is normally crowded and last weekend was no exception. But the crowd is low key and friendly. There's never any drama or off the wall behavior. The bar clearly caters to the LGBT community but everyone is welcome. Being a straight female, i have always felt welcome and included.

Small am isn't dive bar in a good neighborhood. Great service at the back bar. Strong drinks!
