Date of service; Jan 2024 (late post can't remember exact date in January last year)Ambiance: I love a good food market.This used to be the 6th street farmers market back in the day, if you're a native Washingtonian. It's set up really nice now and they make good use of the space. They have a huge counter here where ppl can order on both ends of the counter.Food: I ordered a salmon cheesesteak and potato wedges! One word, 3 syllables- A-MAZ-ING!! Everything is prepared cooked to order. It was hot in temperature, full of flavor and served with the best customer service one could ask for. The wedges were crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. I recommend trying this!

This place is such a hit when I want a delicious fish sandwich. My only critique is that I wish the buns were more durable. When getting them delivered, they tend to her a little soggy. The salmon burger is the best! And the fries are a hit.

Hey friends! BRB still searching for the rest of my order LOL! I was disappointed to find that the portions were small. Outside of the portion size, my District Fishwife experience was pleasant. I ordered via UberEats. Food arrived in 20 minutes, hot and fresh. My boyfriend ordered the Salmon Cheesesteak and said he would not re-order it. He said the salmon had a weird aftertaste and could use more seasoning. I ordered the fried shrimp basket. The fries were very delicious. Crispy exterior, soft interior; packed with flavor. The shrimp were cut down the middle, which I found pretty cool and different. The shrimp was golden brown, but similar to the salmon, it could use more seasoning. I'll definitely give this restaurant another try just because the fries were that good lol. Bye for now friends, have a great day!

Both dishes were amazing. You walk up and order cafeteria style and then they call your name when your order is ready. I ordered the fishbowl with halibut. I like that you can choose between different fresh fishes when you order. The halibut was tender and fell right apart. Although a bit on the expensive side ($19) The portion sizes were robust. The fish and chips had incredible thick cut fries and it was delicately breaded.

It was a bustling Sunday afternoon and a line started to build as I approached the counter. One of the team members was kind enough to open another register and cut the line down. I waiting about 15 minutes and my salmon burger was ready! The sweet potato fries and salmon burger were not the best I've ever had, I would return because of the customer service and it's once of the spots that gives me several options as a pescatarian.

Came here a while ago and had been craving something with French fries, and the fish and chips seemed like it would hit the spot. The order came out pretty quickly (a bit less than 10 mins) and the fish and fries were nice and hot, clearly freshly made. The fish batter with light and crispy, the fries were really fluffy inside with great surface area for picking up the tartar sauce. I recommend getting two sauces, since the portion of fish and fries is quite generous. The only part that was a bit underwhelming was the slaw, which was nice and crunchy, but not as flavorful as I would have expected to balance the fried elements. But hey, most people don't order fish and chips for the slaw, so no big deal.

Impressed with how fresh! The pickled veggie side was the biggest surprise -- lightly pickled and so fresh tasting, even better with the hint of sesame seeds. Shrimp in the bahn mi is fried but still very light -- enjoyed the pickled veggies & the bread was also nice and light. The full stem cilantro while it looked beautiful made it a little hard to eat daintily, would prefer that to be chopped up. I would eat here again and again and try everything on the menu. Easy to order, plenty of side choices. Plenty of of overall choices (if you love fish). If you're familiar with Union Market, it's first come first serve with the seating, but they have plenty of outdoor seating.

The food is superb. The service is good but there is room for improvement. The salmon and shrimp cheesesteak is fiya! OMGEEE!

Edit: Not consistent. I've had to edit this review down because I went back to this spot to get the shrimp bahn mi for a second time. The sandwich was not very good, the veggies were soggy and disproportionate to the shrimp, and again the cilantro is packed in bunches into the sandwich with the full stem it's almost inedible with it included. Sweet potato fries are still good with a spicy mayo. Has the potential to be good but is not there yet. I've seen mixed reviews of this spot but the shrimp bahn mi was a hit! The fried butterfly shrimp was absolutely delicious and the bread was soft and tasty. The only complaint is that the cilantro was not chopped properly so I was pulling long stems out of the sand which as I ate. But the flavors were all there. Sweet potato fries were cooked well but needed more salt.

This review is for the seafood they sell. It is top notch and worth every penny. She sources locally and you can tell.
