So glad the pub downstairs has reopened! The Bluebird Cocktail Room is a little fussy for me and doesn't always fit the bill for what I want. But the Pub is definitely more my vibe - casual but cool, cozy but not fussy. No reservations. The pub is a whiskey bar, and the focus is definitely on whiskey and whiskey-based cocktails. They do have wine and beer if you have someone in your group that isn't into or isn't in the mood for whiskey (I had wine when I met some friends there a few weeks ago). The service is great, and it's a just a chill spot for some drinks with friends. I'm sure I'll be back!

Having been to both Bluebird Cocktail Room and now Bluebird Pub, I can say that both are worth a visit. Bluebird Pub is far more intimate with leather couches as opposed to tables, a smaller capacity (and thus less noise), and a loungier feel overall which is just fine by me. Another distinction is that the Pub specializes in whiskey based cocktails. The bartender (I'm kicking myself for forgetting his name) was a jovial fellow and knew what he was doing with the drinks. I would certainly return.

This is downstairs scaled-back lesser version of the Bluebird Cocktail Room. It has a lounge feel and doesn't take itself too seriously. They're only open on the weekend, so when my wife and I wanted to switch it up, we left the Cocktail Room and bounced down here. The menus are definitely more condensed than what you'll find upstairs - there were only 5 signature cocktails and only a couple foods. They had homestyle chips, some fancy peanuts, and everything else is cheese or ham for a fancy board. I was advised to go here for good charcuterie, so my wife and I figured we'd try it out.The cheeses were delightful - some sort of blue and some soft goat cheese and Virgina-raised smoked Ibérico ham was delightful. While nothing tops Spanish Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, this local twist on the ham was very pleasant. The whole board came with onion jam, Dijon mustard, some slices of pickled beets and jalapeños, as well as some toasted bread. We also ordered the peanuts, which weren't as sweet as I thought they'd be, but had a pleasant spice kick. The drinks were fine. I enjoyed my Old Fashioned - I've had better, but this was still up there. My wife got the Seelbach, which we both agreed had a fish-tank kind of funk (but somehow in a good way?!), and she enjoyed its boozy complexity.Unlike upstairs, they will come to your table and take your order and are relatively speedy about it all. It's not the cheapest place and probably not a place to have a substantial filling dinner, but it is a place to have some fancy small plates and some drinks.

Great experience here with family. We tried going up to the cocktail room, but they couldn't seat us and didn't allow customers to stand at tables. The pub was more low key and quiet so we were able to sit down and chat over drinks. The bar tender was very nice and friendly and made us feel welcome. The drinks were good and we had a great time.

This was my first and last visit to this place. My friends live in the area and had been here before so we gave it a try, intending on stopping in for ONE drink after having left the lantern parade at the park. As soon as I walked in I was overwhelmed by the smell, it was SO strong of a cleaning agent, maybe wood cleaner? Smelled like the clean up when you're hiding a body, just saying. All 5 of us noticed it. The beautiful host/waitress told us to pick any seat, so we chose the table in the back corner that would accommodate 5 people. In theory this place is adorable, it's dark and moody and clean, but it's DARK. We had to use the flashlight on our phones to read the menu, as did the tables next to us, and when the food arrived we all laughed because we couldn't see ANYTHING. As soon as we sat down, I picked up the tiny menu, omg the menu is TINY literally. There are 5 food items, and it was explained to me that people typically use this place to grab ONE drink and leave, or use it as a waiting area for the dining room upstairs. So about that.... People came and left 8 times without actually getting food/drink and tables were reset because this is basically a waiting room. I immediately ordered the ham board, and a cheese board, the drinks are only whiskey, so I passed on that while my friends were deciding on drinks the waitress put in our food order. One server and one bartender. Extremely slow kitchen service. We got a round of drinks and 45 minutes later our ham board had not arrived so we asked for the check, and of course ... waitress said wait, here's the food. My friends felt obligated now to order a second round from the bartender who popped over, not only could the servers not see you, but they can't hear you over the music from the speakers above my head. 20 minutes later... Those drinks never arrived. We ate the ham and cheese board and left for a spot at Melanie's down the street.

Yelp FamI just discovered the little brother to one of my favorite spots to get a cocktail. The Bluebird Cocktail room is a Staple in Hampden. Recently I read that they purchased the basement of the current location and made it a pub. I was excited to to try it ,luckily on Sunday my Gf & I ended up in Hampden to try the Bluebird Pub.It's an intimate pub with bar seating and tables. They have a huge whiskey selection, you could say it's their specialty. We were greeted as we entered and our bartender(s) were very nice.I have a few recommendations The old fashioned- this was probably the best one I've ever had. They have mastered this classic, it was extremely smooth. House whiskey hints of vanilla, A huge square shaved ice cube and orange peel. The Pub Burger- the Double Pub Burger was excellent, really hit home for me. Again one of the best burgers I've ever had without question. It's not a question of if I would return it's really when, truly a great experience in a intimate environment with wonderful drinks and great food. Do yourself a favor and check out The Bluebird Pub.

This place is BEAUTIFUL and it passes the vibe check. I felt like I was in a 1920's bar with the low lighting, brick fireplace, and dimly lit lamps. The cocktails were out of this world and so were the fries. Everything here was so well thought out, down to the menu. I'm definitely going back!
