The Beacon

I'm staying at the Hampton In & was yelping to look for a place to eat. I asked the front desk about a restaurant near the hotel- but she & the General Manager asked if I had eaten at The Beacon? They raved about the menu and asked if I would try it & report back to them, good or bad. I ordered the appetizer Cesar salad which was fantastic! As you can see pictures the lettuce was crisp & green with the appropriate amount of dressing- you can add a protein- I chose not to as this was an appetizer. I also ordered the pulled pork sliders. The meat was cooked to perfection, the slaw was delicious on the slider, and the bun was fantastic- this was THE best pulled pork slider I've had. I can recommend The Beacon is a place I will revisit when I am back in this area.

I bought a voucher that was advertised on yelp for the establishment. I did not ask the establishment before buying if they accepted the voucher to my surprise, they do not accept any vouchers. I am currently trying to get a refund from Yelp, currently I am unsuccessful.

Gross. Gross gross. Felt sick for 4 days after eating there. Wish I never went to eat there. And even stay in the hotel. It was gross as well.

I've been here a couple of times only for a drink in between appointments, and it keeps getting worse. The bartenders have all been very nice, however the beer prices are at a PREMIUM! Purchased a regular sized beer and was charged $8.99. I might expect this at FedEx Field, but not at a hotel bar...

Under new management, their website isn't correct and they have no deals or specials anymore. I LOVED the beacon before so hopefully I can update this review to better when they bring back some deals again. Very disappointed it was not what was on the website.

Tryed this place on a whim ...actually forgot that it had re-opened. So atmosphere is cool ...round bar. Could be a nice view if they filled the pond behind it. Service was excellent..however our server /bartender had to keep leaving to run inside to the kitchen to get food. It's behind the Hampton Inn so you had to walk all the way inside the hotel to use the restroom. Not a good attribute for a bar. Next and unfortunately...the food was just OK. Edible, but nothing to come back for :/ Heard they have good karaoke night ..might come back to see that ..but eat elsewhere first. Need to have a bar back/ food runner and definitely need to step up the food

Decent sports bar with very average bar food. If you are looking for a quick meal close to the Hampton Inn or a spot to grab a couple drinks this fits the bill. Otherwise, there are other places to grab a bite.

I'd hoped that previous reviews might have been taken under advisement by management and that a May 2018 experience would mark a leaf turned over. Alas, alack, not so. This is still just one man designated to man bar, busing, serving, and cashier. A one man operation for a 60+ capacity restaurant. Insane. AND, that singular jack of all trades needs to retrieve food from a kitchen outside the building, down a hallway. This is an impossible system with predictable results: orders not taken, food not served, satisfaction not monitored, bills not provided. Even at the 50% off offered by the Yelp coupon this is poor value and a frustrating evening. C'mon, management, make the obvious fix: hire more staff!

Staying at the Hampton Inn Frederick Buckeystown Pike who would have thought it had so much to offer. This is a large property suited for business conferences, out door spacious pool with outdoor patio and firepit while enjoying the fresh air with my drink from the Beacon restaurant. Yes this Hampton Inn even has a full restaurant and bar on site open on Friday and Saturday's until 12am. Food and service was wonderful. I will be coming back to visit on business to see the great staff. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Keep up the great work!
