Basement space with outdoor seating. Club members only for dinner. Lunch is open to the public. Beautiful setup. Service is excellent. Different prices for members and nonmembers and either is much more reasonable than prices outside the gates. Excellent part of an academy tour.

The restaurant is in a former bowling Alley, hence the name. Lots of dark wood and the first thing you see is the bar. It was lunch time, so we were not quite ready for a cocktail. Booths were comfortable and service by Amelia was definitely getting an A for effort. My wife had the French Dip and it was delicious, as were the accompanying French fries. I had the Chicken BLT with homemade chips. The sandwich was cooked fine, but I was frankly disappointed with the taste. I would not order it again, although the homemade chips were great. The French Dip is highly recommended to try.Our server tempted us with the Chef's special dessert. It was a French pastry filled with fresh blueberries with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious!!

Great place to stop after a tour of the US Naval Academy. Plenty of selections to choose from. Quiet, classy without being pretentious. Situated in the same building as the Officers' Club. The staff takes care of attention to detail. You won't need to ask for water glasses to be refilled. Food is prepared to perfection. They won't keep you waiting; The Alley is a well-oiled machine! Relaxed atmosphere with snappy-quick service.

The Alley is on the campus of the United States Naval Academy, in a building that shares the Officers Club. It used to be a bowling alley (hence the name).I went on a busy Tuesday during lunchtime, and while not terrific as in the best meal ever, it was good.I had their basic big burger. The patty was definitely fresh, the roll was fresh, the fries were hot. Everything was basically good.My dad got the lunch buffet, which is a small salad bar. a variety of simple Mexican food choices and dessert. It was basic, no frills stuff, but he liked it fine. The service was good. Our server was on top of everything with the high level of efficiency and tepid level of friendliness one would expect on a military installation. I mean, I felt like, you want lunch, you've got lunch. Nothing special or extraordinary. But you can say you ate and move on to whatever is next on your agenda for the day.

Named for the Bowling Alley that was originally located in the lower level of the Naval Academy Club, The Alley restaurant offers casual fine dining in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Alley is open M-F for lunch from 1100 - 1400 to all guests (civilian or service member). The environment was warm with outstanding décor consisting of nautical themes and historical images, photographs, art of the US Navy.I arrives and was promptly given the open to have a seat at the bar or a table. Opting for the table I was greeted by Chad who was a wonderful server. After seeking his recommendation, I opted for the Chef's Lunch Buffet for $10.95. Between the 24 point salad bar, two soup options, very fresh bread rolls, and the chef's choice of entrée, starch and vegetable (today featured marinated pork loin, scalloped potatoes and broccoli), it was the best deal in town. I was so impressed that I took several VIPs here the very next day and they were equally impressed with both the setting and the quality of the cuisine.A wonderful place to get a bite on the USNA grounds if you're on official business or receiving a tour as a visitor. Be sure to visit John Paul Jones crypt which is adjacent to the Chapel!

Service and quality are always excellent at The Alley. If you're lucky enough to visit The Yard, I highly recommend it for lunch. I usually treat myself to a cheeseburger and fries and find them to be well worth the calories.

We have been going to the former Officer's Club now the Naval Academy Club for years now, but this was the first time that we had been to The Alley. We were pretty impressed. I liked the ambience there. The food was reasonably priced for lunch. I didn't see the dinner prices, but you get a lot of bang for your buck for lunch especially with the buffet. Our waiter was pleasant and welcoming. My family ordered the burgers, and they really enjoyed them. I actually had one of the best crabcakes of my life, and I grew up in Annapolis, MD. I've had plenty of crabcakes in this area. We will definitely be going back sometime soon!
