Tempo Lounge

Sadly this place has gone downhill. All of the same people work here and patron which is nice but they don't invest much into the establishment. duck tape holds some cracked tiles together in the lady's room. A huge hole in the base board.And the front door is semi shattered but still usable .Prior to noticing these things I ordered lemon pepper wings.They looked freezer burnt.I was told they looked like that because the grease was fresh.NO THANKS!..The crab night use to be my favorite night you would get big juicy crabs sold at $1 each..I paid $3 per crab & these don't even look regulation-sized. This is a no brainer for me it was fun while it lasted

I love this place!!!!!! Literally 10/10. I usually end up here at the end of the night. The bar tenders are amazing. All the employees are so nice. Shout out to Aly

Tempo lounge would be described as a dive. But a friendly and fun dive. This will be my neighborhood spot.

Good food and service. You can't beat their French onion soup! I've never had a bad meal there-everything is cooked perfectly! Bartenders, at least the ones I've dealt with during the day, are super friendly and very efficient!

Wings! Only reason we go. Tuesday night, 25 cents, lots of sauces to choose, I recommend the standard hot wing and the honey mustard wings.Bar setting with tables around it. Pool tables in the back, juke box, looks like they get bands too.Could use a face lift, but hell, it's a bar in Essex, so you know that's not on the radar.

My BFF told me that she heard that the Tempo Lounge has really great food, so we always like trying new places. The Tempo Lounge has been around for years but I had never been there. So when we went inside we were welcomed as if we were friends already. We ordered a cheesesteak sub, which was the best sub I've had in years. The flavor was the best. It was served on a toasted roll which made a big difference. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Can't wait to go back!!

Place changes alot since Ruth passed away. I used to go frequently but have not been back in months. Lots if better places to go that are closer to my home.

Typical neighborhood bar. I only stopped because I was hungry and it was close to the grocery store. Also, I was raised in Essex and the Tempo has been there as long as I can remember so I figured it must be decent. Surprisingly, it was! I had a grilled chicken sandwich and it was well cooked and flavorful (for a bar). Staff was very friendly. I'll definitely visit again when I'm the area.

I was a regular customer of tempo lounge every Friday and some Saturdays for the past 2 years. I went this this past New Yar's Eve. They were offering karokae and a buffet. When wer first arrived, we saw people who were not regulars being denied access to the buffet. There were 3 people in my party, I had a beer with my food, but the other 2 chose not to have drinks until after we ate. The manager camu up to our table and said "are you two going to have drinks and not just drink water all night? The buffet is expensive and we are not going to make any money off of water." Needless to say, we chose not to spend any money there, nor will we ever step foot in there again. If this is how management chooses to treat customers they do not deserve for anyone to spend their money in there.

They do have a craft beer selection which always nakes me happy. The food was pretty good, the crowd is mature and friendly. They no longer have pool tables which is dissapointing if you prefer games like we do. The place itself has good space but I don't think they utilize it well, needs a bit of a facelift for sure. Karaoke, pitbeef and a liquor store. Plenty of parking.
