10/10! cam here for a date night and it was phenomenal! I wish we'd taken pictures of the food but we inhaled it as soon as they sat it down in front of us We came during HH and got some bears and the mango shijito. big mango girly so I was v happy! we started with an order of oysters & crunchy rice salmon and it was sooo good. I love crunchy rice and they knocked it out the park.We split the spicy tonkatsu ramen, Salmon lover roll, and pork dumplings. delicious!! everything is so fresh & flavorful even the little side salad that came with the sushi was good and I finished it! and usually I just pick at those at most sushi places. we were too full for dessert but will be sure to grab some next time!

Went here again for lunch and got the shrimp bento box. The food is fresh and delicious. My friends agreed. I love the rice and the California rolls. You can tell the salad was fresh from the crispness. This place will be my go to place for lunch.

I heard they get fresh shipments on Tuesday and Thursday, so I went on a Tuesday evening! It was pretty empty at 7:30 but the service was very friendly and food was very good. The wagyu fried rice was pretty good, could use slightly more flavor, but the roll was great! Very flavorful and fresh. They were out of the Takumi roll, so I'll have to come back to try it. The only thing I'd critique is they should frost their windows so the view isn't of the mall, ambiance would be improved that way.

Great sushi and extensive menu. Takumi sushi is located in the mall right next to main event and the carousel. The windows allow you to see into the mall and outside. I came here for lunch, but the decor vibes would be great for a date night dinner. Although the prices aren't cheap, I'd say it's not too much more than what you'd regularly spend on sushi, and the quality is good. The service was a little below average-- the waiter was slow taking our order and seemed to struggle with the finding the items on the screen and knowing the menu. But the menu is pretty large. Our food also came out at all different times. We almost thought that they forgot one of our appetizers because it came after almost finishing our food. For the lunch menu, the ramen comes with a maki roll. It's a good deal, however it's a bit much imo to charge extra for spicy vs mild. The ramen was really flavorful/umami and spicy, I would recommend. It came with lots of tofu and bean curd sheets as well. The nigiri and sashimi lunch combo comes with a California roll, 6 pieces of sashimi, 3 pieces of nigiri, and miso soup. We also got the tuna melon which was unique, sweet, and savory. It was my favorite part of the meal, but it was a splurge. We also got the chawamushi, which is a silken savory egg custard. It was piping hot, and perfect for a cold day. I liked the mushroom and scallop pieces that accompanied it.

Did a lunch special / to-go from Takumi and it's the best sushi in the area for sure. Fish they use are fresh, and they know how to portion their rice perfectly so it's not 90/10 rice/sushi.I'm not gonna lie, price is pretty high. So this is not your neighborhood, cheap sushi spot. We had a lunch deal, and each dish pictured was $18-$20. That said, if you want GOOD sushi, I recommend you save up, pay the price, and go to Takumi. The place is located right by the mall - the ambiance is nice, service is OK. No complaints! Glad we have Takumi in the neighborhood now

I stopped by Takumi with two others last Saturday around 5 PM before a concert at the Merriweather Pavillion. No reservation needed and the restaurant was on the emptier side. Service was nice and fast. The interior is kind of dark even though there are very large and open windows.SUSHI DINNER - 32This came with 10 pieces of nigiri and a tuna maki (which I substituted for salmon). The salmon maki uses white rice while the nigiri uses brown rice... interesting. Not sure why that is. The fish quality here is quite fresh and I enjoyed the selection I got. This is one of the very few places where I enjoyed the tuna over the salmon. Both were good, but this tuna really did blow me away. Overall, this was a solid option and pricing is affordable. I'd recommend the sushi dinner for sure.WAGYU & IKURA CHAWAMUSHI - 15Nice lil splurge. This did take longer to come out, but it was worth it. The chiwamushi had a smoky flavor from the couple pieces of wagyu that was nicely seared and charred. I love the lightly sweet, dashi flavor of the broth that coated the super soft and delicate steamed egg. The roe was good and I liked the small piece of mushroom and edamame. Yum!Overall, good food. My friends enjoyed the salmon belly here which looked amazing. They also enjoyed the alcoholic beverages.
