This is Lega Tibs and 4 veggie special. The Shiro (chickpea sauce) in the foreground was especially tasty.

Normally, when I go to Ethiopian places I love the vegetables and think the meat is good, but at @Taborbaltimore my taste buds were dancing with delight every time I took a bite of the meat. Run, don't walk, to this place. Obsessed! The Baltimore--9 veggies, 1/2 order each of Special Tibs & Alicha Wot. The flavor of the spices shined and the beef was perfectly cooked. One beef was more of a stew and one reminded me of bbq (it was almost like a dry rub instead of being covered in sauce). I have no idea which I liked better and I would never pick. I guess I will forever order both now. My favorite veggies were the beets and salad, but we enjoyed all of them!Veggie Sambusa--fried pastry with lentils inside. My friend loved these so much that she ordered two more after we ate them as appitizersEthiopian is one of my favorite cuisines to share with a group. Make sure that everyone knows in advance that you eat with your hands (they will provide a fork if you ask, but that's not as fun and doesn't taste as good!). You break a off part of the injera (the rolled bread you see) and scoop up the food with it. The injera is light, porous, and a bit sour. It's incredible.

Stumbled into Tabor for a late evening meal (thankful they took us in because we were so hungry!!) the service was so quick and the food was to die for. This is my favorite injera I've ever had. The veggie combo was delishhhh. The spicy potatoes and the spicy lentils were my favorite. I cannot recommend this place more!

This place has some seriously excellent Ethiopian food! I had the 5-combo vegetarian platter, and my boyfriend went for the special tibs--both were absolutely delicious! Those tibs were some of the best I've ever tasted. My only gripe? You have to pay extra for 100% teff injera. Seriously, why is that even a thing? I'm so over the nickel and diming, especially when 100% teff should be the standard at an Ethiopian spot. But overall, the meal was fantastic!

So this restaurant has a patron for life out of me, because, man, what an amazing visit!I liked everything about this place as soon as I walked in the door. The venue has a nice vibe, chill and relaxed. The wait staff was attentive and very helpful with explaining menu items and making suggestions for entrees.I wanted ALL the things, and was directed to "The Baltimore" which includes 9 veggies (NINE, OMG) and 2 proteins. We went with the Key Wot and got Kitfo for an up-charge (WORTH IT). Also got some honey wine, which was interesting but ultimately not my thing. Perhaps on the next visit I'll explore the world of Ethiopian beer. The platter of food looked absolutely AMAZING when it arrived and I wasn't sure where to start...LOL, that's a lie, I went straight for the kitfo with a piece of injera. And when I say it was delicious...LAWD.I asked for some extra spice and was given a container of what looked like cayenne pepper, but less heat and more salt. It was perfect. With that and plenty of injera, I got to work. And I was thoroughly pleased with all the food on the platter. I ate until I was stuffed and there was still so much food left. Took home a doggy bag.Lo and behold, the next day, I heated up my leftovers and the food was still excellent. It was a little hard to wrangle out from soggy injera, but I happily managed what I could.I WILL BE BACK. A LOT. Not a threat but a promise, lol.

I went w/ my friend for my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine. We split the Baltimore (for 2) and loved it. Veggies were fresh and the meal was tasty and filling. I ordered tea as well and it was pleasantly spiced.

Three of us got some veggie sambusas (and then we ordered more of those because WOW) and the Tabor. The Special Tibbs was so great that we asked for a separate order of it in chicken (lamb, beef, or chicken). We "bothered" our waiter quite a bit and he didn't mind a bit. He was so caring and kind. It was such a neat little spot and with culturally appropriate music playing. Just a while vibe. 1000% will be returning!

Love love love this gem on Park Ave & I can walk to it from UMB. The owner and waitress were super kind and the food was tip-top. I had no idea chickpea sauce (Shiro) could be so good - not a fan of the bean in general. Ethiopian tunes sealed the deal. I'm excited to tell people about it and go back.

Really delicious! My friend and I split the largest vegetarian combo with gluten-free injeera, paired up with some ginger beer. Everything was so flavorful and obviously freshly prepared. We came in late - about 9:30 on a weeknight - but some of our fellow conference-goers were there as well. Service was pleasant and we loved the Ethiopian MTV-style music video playing on TV. Would love to go again next time I'm in Baltimore.

I've been to Ethiopian restaurants in DC as well as other places, and I would not consider myself a connoisseur. However, this restaurant has made me a fan and a disciple. Absolutely delicious. The Ethiopian beers and the Ethiopian YouTube playing on the wall was a nice touch. It's not in a great area and the service was noticeable understaffed. However, their prices reflect it. Why are they selling beers for $3 when everyone else is selling for $7. They need to raise their prices and hire more staff. But if you want a fun, delicious experience and are not in a rush, this place works.

I should have wrote a review a long time ago. I am now a regular at Tabor, and I almost always go by myself. I always get the veggie combo and sometimes a sambusa. And, I get an Ethiopian beer or two. I have tried the veggie sampler at nearly every Ethiopian place, and Tabor is the best to me. The owner is super nice, and Maki, my usual server, is an awesome person.
