Sweet Cascades

I bought a variety of truffles for my friend's birthday. She loved them so much she told me she would give me money to buy more. I consider that as a badge of honor. The shop is small but has so many goodies. I will be back!

one of the best experiences i have had in a long time. the woman in the store was ultra friendly and personable. the chocolate i found out when i got home was excellent. i would highly recomment this chocolate shop to everyone. yum yum yummy.

Sweet Cascades is located on Main Street in historic Ellicott City. It's a small shop, so depending on the size of your group, some may want to wait outside. The range of chocolate is impressive. This is a local business and they concentrate on their confections for sure.On this particular visit, we'd arrived a day or two after the Harry Potter weekend celebration in historic Ellicott City, so they had chocolate frogs and the cutest golden snitches (truffles) with the wings and gold dust!The line up of the familiar and unusual flavors is broad. It takes us no more than a few minutes for the owner to fill a box of our chosen selections. Peanut Butter Buckeyes, bourbon truffles, chocolate covered Oreos, chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate seasoned with Old Bay or cayenne pepper, chocolate covered nut bark, and so much more.If you want a cute hostess gift, a just because gift, or a sweet treat for you and your family, this is a wonderful shop to visit.

Amazing chocolates! I have walked by this shop a couple of times and went inside once but convinced myself to walk away. Fast forward a few months later and my friend gifted me some for my birthday. They are absolutely delicious. They're all amazing. Blood orange and strawberry are so good.

I've been given chocolates here as a gift and they're always delicious and taste freshly made! I was glad to be able to go in person and pick out some tasty treats. The smores were unique and tasty. I also got an assortment of truffles. I love that they had multiple fruit cream flavors to try. The black cherry cream was my favorite. The staff were very sweet and friendly. I'll definitely be back and would highly recommend Sweet Cascades to anyone

A random day exploring Ellicott City led me to this super cute chocolate shop. The two ladies inside greeted us immediately and were super nice and enthusiastic about the chocolates. The store is small but very well put together with plenty of chocolates labeled for your choosing. We decided to purchase the VDay milk chocolate covered pretzels and Oreos. I've always been very curious about truffles and the dessert display behind the glass were filled to plenty of options. I ultimately decided to try (2) which were $3.25 each. The raspberry truffle is enrobed in dark chocolate ganache filled with raspberry fruit paste. The stella rose truffle is enrobed in dark chocolate with a white Belgian chocolate ganache center, infused with essence of rose, and topped with dried rose petals. Each bite was rich and tasty. While delicious, a bit overwhelming in chocolate for me. I however loved the pretzels and Oreos! I'll definitely stop by to try some of the other chocolate covered items.

Came here yesterday to get some chocolate cicadas and ended up leaving with some truffles...a rice krispie treat and some chocolate crabs that were supposed to have old bay on it. I wasn't sure if the old any was supposed to be sprinkled on it or of it is mixed into the chocolate but I guess I will find out when I try it. I hope I didn't need to ask for the old bay separately. The cicadas were interesting...kinda hard in certain points from the crunch and chocolate I think. The truffles were beautiful...if anything will bring me back it will be those. The prices seemed good until I got my fab and ended up being close to $50...I don't even know what could of been worth that much. Overall, sweet Cascades is a cute shop to look at while walking around at Historic Ellicott city but I don't think I would be back...the prices are not worth it.

My wife and I tried the peanut butter cups and turtles on our first visit. Very fresh. Will return for more.Sadly, the outdoor seating mentioned in prior reviews is closed.

This is my favorite chocolate shop for holiday gifts for my co-workers. I got cicadas when they were available and told everyone they were chocolate covered real cicadas and dared them to eat them. Everyone was relieved when they learned they were all chocolate with rice crispies. I order ahead since I get about 15 orders of something fun. The order is ready when I pick it up which is super convenient. Looking forward to ordering again this holiday season. And definitely getting something for myself when I stop in. My fav is chocolate covered pretzels.

SO good! My husband and I bought a variety of treats, such as the Peanut Butter Survival Kit and a box of truffles. Everything was absolutely delicious! The strawberry balsamic truffle was incredible, I could have eaten like twenty of them. We will definitely be back to pick up treats for the holidays!
