In Pigtown, Suspended Brewing Company is a spacious brewery with $11 flights and many beers on tap. They have IPAs, sours, lambic-style ales, etc. Enjoying more sour drinks, I loved their sours.

I like this cozy brewery so much! When I asked them about a beer which is not so bitter, they recommended "Sunrise in Cairo" to me. It was delicious with subtle scent of hibiscus. I was also able to taste the "Blood Orange Kintsugi". It was a bit bitter for me but flavorful. Next time, I would like to try other beers too!

Wow, what an awesome brewery in good ole Pigtown! I had heard great things about this spot from my fellow Yelpers and decided to check it out. The brewery itself is located on the main road of Pigtown right off of MLK Blvd. You can definitely get lucky with street parking depending on the day but I imagine it would be a bit tricky on game days. The brewery is located inside of what used to be a cinema. You can tell by the classic bulb lights on the inside and outside of the entrance. When I walked in, I immediately noticed the crystal chandeliers and that A$AP Rocky was playing - what a great combination. I also loved the beautiful plants by the entrance. I tried a few different beers and finally landed on the Leda. It is a refreshing sour that sort of has a champagne vibe to it. If you like sours, this is definitely the brewery for you. I'm a sucker for a good sour and let's just say that Suspended has tons to choose from. I love the fact that they bottle their beers in glass bottles instead of cans. You can see the contents inside and even the fermentation at the bottom of the bottle (kinda like kombucha). I'd like to come back on a day that they have a food vendor since I've heard great things about the vegan offerings. Suspended Brewing is also an inclusive space with specific signs on restrooms promising safety to folks of all gender identities. They also have a strong passion for the environment. Although they're using disposable cups right now due to Covid-19, the cups are compostable! I love a brewery with solid sours, but I love a brewery that stands for something even more. Cheers to Suspended Brewing!

Suspended Brewing is the hidden brewery-gem of Baltimore, and maybe all of Maryland. Suspended is probably most beloved for their lambic-style ales. Dry, fruity, sometimes tart. Always complex and extremely quality. They are a tiny operation with almost no distribution. So you have to visit to experience their brews. Suspended also makes great Pilsners, Imperial Stouts, and is now dabbling in other Belgian/Abbey-style ales! Again, everything is made is great care and has lovely appearances and vibrant flavors. Never a boring beer here. The only caution I have is that they have limited hours of operation and don't have a dedicated parking lot. So be sure to check their hours and plan your parking before you go.

One of the things I enjoy about Suspended is how the staff is highly knowledgeable about their offerings. They even allow u to taste as many as you'd like b4 ordering. The staff was extremely friendly. There's always a laid back non pretentious atmosphere (when it could really be quite snooty, based on design and layout of the place). Its always giving a very clean feel, which I love as well. This visit, my friend & I opted to each have a flight [of 4] to taste the many varied offerings at Suspended. We basically ordered the same thing w/ the exception of two beers. It was journey we enjoyed taking. Our selections included: 1. 'SUNRISE IN CAIRO' (5 YEAR COLLAB)!Hibiscus Ale 4.6%. A red ale, delicately hopped, and colored with hibiscus. With such a cool name, I expected something memorable. This wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. Nice beer.2. 'TROPHIES': Mexican Lager 4.2%. This is pilsner lager delicately dry-hopped with whole cone Amarillo hops, fermented with Mexican lager yeast. Tastes exactly as expected. Tastes like any basic lite beer. Not bad. Not good. A perfect game day, chugging, pace yourself beer. 3. 'BLOOD ORANGE KINTSUGI': Fruited IPA 6.3%. An American IPA kettle and dry hopped with Simcoe & Citra, then blended with blood orange. Upon initial taste, I'm hit with lovely florals (as if in a field of flowers). Then bitterness sets in and a fermented, mild taste that rounds off to citrusy orange notes finishing w/ a strong orange peel taste. Interesting. 4. And the WINNER, HANDS DOWN IS... 'DOUBLE BLACK PEARL': 11%. Here, we have an Imperial breakfast stout made with dark malts, caramel malts, hont; nalt, oats, cinnamon, vanilla, and a special coffee blend. How do I describe this one?!? Well... As ABBA sang, 'The winner takes it ALL! The loser's standing small...' THIS stout right here, is the REASON I was meant to walk into Suspended that day! This was the ABSOLUTE WINNER! This was a hearty stout (much like a well poured Guinness or Young's) but this had a delicious melange of complex flavors. Starts bitter, as a stout should, then mellows into chocolatey coffee. This coffee has been flavored and you can taste the caramel, cinnamon & vanilla coming thru. Absolute decadence. After I finished my flight, I had to got back and get a draught of this one. YUMMMINESS!!! score Score SCORE!!!! TRIPLE WORD SCORE!!! 5. 'DOUBLE DOSED DOUBLE BLACK PEARL': Double Coffee & Coconut 11%. Double Black Pearl double dosed with coffee and coconut! Now, personally, I don't like coconut ANYTHING so my friend had this one, solo. He enjoyed it highly so my review will mimic the review of DOUBLE BLACK PEARL w/ the perfect addition of coconut. SCORE, by default. *smile*And the 'Cherry on top' was that I mistakenly left my credit card. I guess I was feelin really good or something (lol). The problem was that they were in the process of closing when we left. I realized while driving away. I called and they had it and said they'd wait for me to come back. That was truly appreciated bc I was already on I-95 when I called. So that was AWESOME!!! I always have a great time here.

Love sours? This is the first place you should go in Baltimore. Forget all those wanna-be sours at other breweries or in the store. This place has real sours, like make-you-pucker, filled-with-fruit sours. Sooo good. I could spend all my money on these beers. Pro tip? Don't bother with the other beers here, IPAs aren't what they do. Cute sitting areas, great employees, just all around a must-stop

This is by far my favorite brewery in Baltimore. Admittedly, I haven't gone too many in the area, but all breweries from here on out have big shoes to fill.Suspended is nestled in (what I consider) a residential area of Pigtown. Parking was surprisingly easy for a Saturday afternoon--or maybe I just got lucky. I heard that it's sometimes tricky to find parking so I'd Uber if you don't want to take any chances. We found free parking on the street adjacent to Washington Blvd. Suspended was re-purposed into a brewery, so the outside and inside still have remnants of the old theater--marquee lights, the stage (which is now the brewing area), and other little retro props. It's a beautiful venue for a birthday party, wedding, reception, or get-together.The staff are phenomenal! They are attentive, friendly, and accommodating. We had the pleasure of meeting Josey who shared his immense knowledge of brewing with us. All the staff really know their stuff! Currently, their hours are limited--but understandably so, because for one they are a small brewery and don't produce the same volume as larger breweries. Hey, that's a good thing though. You know your beer is always served fresh.Beer has gluten. So you might wonder, why would someone with Celiac's even bother visiting this place? Let. me. tell. you. They offer more than just beer! They have coffee and kombucha on tap! AHHHMAZZZINGGG. My sister tried all the beers (which she said all were very good--but her favorite was the Strawberry Rhubarb), while I tried the kombucha. They serve kombucha from Hex, a local kombucha company in Baltimore, and the one they had on tap was a ginger kombucha. It was really good! And on top of that, it was only $3. WHAAAAT? Yeah, you heard me. Just $3. The beers are pretty cheap too. The tasting flights I believe are only $3 as well. If you love a beer, you can actually get a bottle to go for only $10. Mind-blowing. I don't think any other brewery can compare to their prices and hospitality. Try out Suspended! I promise you won't regret it!

I lived in Pigtown for 4 years and was extremely excited to get a brewery that was just a block away from my house. My roommate and I have visited this brewery a lot and are very supportive of them. The service here is impeccable, I haven't meet anyone I haven't liked. They are all really helpful. At least one of owners/brewers has always been there when I've gone. The others working there are usually their friends. Everyone has been very knowledgable and honest when it comes to deciding what to drink. There is a great variety of beers. I usually get a flight to start because they are always brewing something new and I am never disappointed. Their flight pours are also a good size so you don't feel like you're only getting a few sips worth. So I highly recommend getting a flight so you can try them all. They not only brew beer, they also have kombucha, cold brew and, newly during COVID, cocktails. I have only tried their kombucha and I have to say, as a picky kombucha drinker and I was impressed. Due to the location, they don't have outdoor seating BUT the interior is very spacious and I have never had trouble finding a spot to stand/sit by the bar or at a table. Their interior is has a cool vibe. They feature local art, have fresh flowers/plants on the tables and lots of wood and metal aspects. They are also pet friendly! They also don't have their own kitchen but they often have pop-up kitchens, that are usually vegetarian or vegan, which is so interesting and whenever I've tried the food, it's been sooo good! Tip: If you don't feel like you want a flight and don't want to risk ordering a full-sized beer you might not like, you can always ask for a taste. They are always willing to let you try before you buy.COVID: The brewery has been closed but they have been offering Saturday pickups; walk-ins and pre-orders. Their beers go fast so I would recommend pre-ordering. Follow them on Instagram, @suspendedbrewing so you can stay up to date with what they are doing.
