In a word disappointed. My neighbor brought me here thinking that it was a good place for sushi. He said it was similar to my favorite sushi restaurant. He was wrong. First, it took much too long for the waitress to come to the table to initiate our order. Second, when I asked what comes with the "Sashimi", one word description, lunch. She replied, chef's choice with no other elaboration. I decided to take a chance, a mistake. I asked to substitute clear soup for the miso since miso doesn't agree with my stomach. They don't substitute. I asked to substitute a seaweed salad for the lettuce salad for an additional charge and still no substitutions allowed. So, I ordered the seaweed salad for $7. I perused the appetizer list for something similar to that found at my favorite sushi place and no luck so I concluded my order. I don't remember the waitress asking about drinks but she brought water to us so I decided to leave well enough alone. I received my seaweed salad and found it unusually sweet. I suspect they may have added sugar. It was edible so I didn't inquire further. My Sashimi lunch arrived at the table and I found a little clump of sashimi pieces in the center of the plate. A couple of notable fails were, one the salmon, it seemed hard on one side as if it was frozen and wasn't quite completely thawed. Still one, the salmon also was missing those distinct white fat lines that are indicative of freshness. Two, they included fake crab meat on the sushi plate. I don't order anything that includes fake crab meat. I questioned the waitress as to what the mystery fish was and she was honest which precipitated a conversation with the "manager". The manager was a world champion excuse maker. I decided then that I couldn't recommend Sushi Hana to others and I would not be returning. I have to give it a Star to post a review but one star is too many.

The service and atmosphere are good, just nothing to blow you away. I absolutely love Philly rolls! This is my second time this year eating here and I'd never get the Philly rolls again. Only because the salmon to cream cheese portion is off. It just too much in a bit. The spicy lobster roll we had before and it was so good but this time they over cooked the lobster and it was horrible. I ordered the fire roll because of the presentation, but when it arrived to the table it wasn't on fire. I asked them to light it again and they did. The taste of the roll is also just average, same for the spicy salmon roll. Nothing spectacular.

Sushi Hana is the only place I come to for sushi in the Towson area because the quality of the food is always on point. It's within Towson town, but off of York Rd. Parking is simple where you can street park, park in an open lot just across the place, or park in a nearby garage, all just a couple dollars. When you come in, you see a little area where they keep koi fish (very cool). The restaurant is a little older and can feel a bit cramped when busy, BUT the quality of the food makes up for it! When you're sat down, before ordering food they provide hot hand towels to freshen up your hands. I enjoy coming here for lunch because of the Pick 2 option which comes with a salad and miso soup. This time around I ordered the shrimp tempura roll and volcano roll. You can also select a roll with a choice of hibachi, or there are also strictly hibachi options. The lunch deals are unbeatable here. The sushi is always good and tastes fresh- this time was no different. I've had their seafood tempura and hibachi items with fried rice and all I can say is *chef's kiss*. If you look at the wall when you come in, you'll see plenty of awards and recognitions for best sushi, food, etc. and these were all well deserved. Service here was impressive. There was ONE server waiting on all the tables in the lower section (not sure if she was also working the upper section) which was probably 9-12 tables.. I can understand if the place is understaffed because many places are these days. As I said, it was impressive how attentive our waitress Grace was and how kind/patient she was the entire time despite how busy it was. Looking for sushi? Come here. If you may not like sushi but your friend does, come here because they have plenty of options outside of sushi.

We started ordering from Sushi Hana because they deliver to our house. We've continued ordering from them because their sushi is so good! What I love about Sushi Hana is the number of vegan/vegetarian rolls they have. We've explored at least a dozen different rolls. Our go to order usually includes the Sweet Potato Tempura, Asparagus Tempura, Bean Curd and Carrot and Ivy Roll. So why not five stars? I've been disappointed by a roll or two here. The biggest is the mushroom. I am a huge fan of mushrooms and had never met a mushroom roll I wasn't a fan of...until Sushi Hana.Sushi Hana offers a number of other options besides sushi. Soup, salad, hibachi, Ramen. We've never tried anything but sushi so I can't vouch for any of the other stuff.Sushi fan? Give this place a try.

I really enjoy this place; however, some of the servers seem to think that a tip is mandatory. I intended to give one in person, but one server asked me for a tip before I even had a chance to write anything down. The food is great, the atmosphere is amazing, but the hospitality is hit or miss.

Grubhub users: be aware there is a 10.50 service fee that I didn't see when checking out. Requested ramen to be spicy - was not spicy or salty. Spicy tuna sushi has no sauce/topping that you might expect. Udon is oily. Will not order again.

I went for an early lunch just after their opening. The 2-roll lunch special was a good deal as it also came with a small salad (love the dressing!) and miso soup (also very good!). I added a seaweed salad, green tea and a dynamite roll. The green tea was a tea bag so compared to places that make their own it wasn't as good. But that is the only real complaint. The New York roll and the shrimp tempura roll was good although I'm used to the tempura roll having avocado and eel sauce on it. The dynamite roll is also different than what I've gotten at other places and while different it was good. I'm not sure I needed that much food but it was fun and will go to try other rolls.
