Service was fast and friendly, price was appropriate for the food, and the breakfast burrito was up there with the best I've had around the country. 10/10

This spot was hitting on every level. The fish and grits was something new that I had never tasted before with the sweet honey glaze all over the fish. The grits were delicious and had a lot of cheese. The rest of the food looked delicious. Next time I wanna try the pancakes and French toast, which are very large portions. Everything is made fresh to order and comes out hot. The counter is small, so most people took their food to go however, if you would like to eat in, they can serve you on the spot. The service was very friendly and fast.

Ok I don't even like super sweet stuff but when I saw that captain crunch French toast on the menu I was like OK FINE. I'll try it. So glad I did. I got it with turkey bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese. The people here are super friendly. I'd say my food took 10-15minutes max on a busy day. So perfectly reasonable wait time. And I just browsed around Lexington market while waiting. I ate it when I got home and it was SOOOOO yummy. Just the perfect kinda sweet I was craving. No syrup necessary. And it came with a cute little fresh strawberry on top. I would definitely go back. There were lots of other options on the menu that I'd also like to try

I first learned about Sunny Side Cafe from a popular instagram food critic, Mr. Chimetime. He raved about this place, so I had to give them a try. He wasn't lying! The food was amazing! First, the cafe is located in the newly renovated Lexington Market. They truly did an amazing job with this market. It's so clean and fresh, and there are tons of door businesses to patronize. Now, back to the food, Mr. Chimetime told not one lie! This food was GOODT! My husband had the Salmon, sausage egg and cheese sandwich. They sausage was cooked into the salmon, genius idea, very well executed! I gave the No sunshine when she's gone bowl a try.....it was fire! The catfish was super crispy and seasoned perfectly! The grits were creamy and delicious, the perfect consistency. Great experience!

Came here for brunch. Ended up getting the catfish and cheese grits or the "No sunshine." It did not disappoint. The fish was super crispy, slightly sweet and a generous portion. The cheese grits were simply delicious. It was big enough for 2 meals for me. I will say I did end up waiting 25 minutes as the line was long- and rightfully so. So just a tip when you do come here!

OMG! Standing ovation please. My best friend and I were in Baltimore for vacation and came to the Lexington Market. This place had a line of people so we had to check it out. When I tell you it was amazing. It was A-maz-ing! We ordered the shrimp and grits. Then I really wanted a biscuit so we ordered that too. Then we wanted some catfish and ordered that too. Everything was on point. The shrimp was seasoned to perfection. The grits were cheesy and the gravy was delicious. The catfish was so crispy and tender. It had the perfect crunch and again the seasoning was perfect. And that biscuit . My Lawd. My friend said surely this is what manna from heaven tastes like. I'm just gone leave that with you. We sadly found them the day before we had to fly out because I would have come back for lunch the next day. But rest assured when I am back in Baltimore I will come back here.

When I was five minutes away, I got nervous because I don't do that Lexington area. Mainly because my life is in Westminster. Anyway, I walk into the new Lexington market without any expectations and upon walking up to sunnyside, I was immediately greeted. I let my guard down a bit and looked over the menu. I ordered French toast, applewood bacon, eggs, and grits. Everything was delectable. Especially that French toast! The portion is a lot imo but I'm not complaining. The staff was super chill but helpful. The order taker was not pushy or rushing me to decide. Although there was a lot going on, I still felt taken care of. I'll be back.

Like some others, I visited this spot after seeing the review from Mr. Chimetime. Overall, it was a well deserved endorsement. The gentleman who worked the register (and took the orders) was the epitome of great customer service. (Everything starts with great customer service in my opinion!). This said, let's dive into the food. I ordered three items. Two of the infamous salmon sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches and one of the shrimp and spinach turkey burgers. For the record, the SALMON SAUSAGE, egg and cheese sandwich does NOT have any meat in it! It says this on the menu. Chimetime and others have questioned where the sausage was built in. It's not! Just like you have chicken or turkey sausage -- this sandwich comes with a patty made of SALMON. The sandwich appears huge, but it's mostly the egg. Spinach quantity is slight, but it's balanced enough considering the croissant and sausage ratio. My issue was the somewhat blandness of the salmon patty. You can taste maple and some seasoning but it could have used a lot more kick in my opinion. The patty is also overtaken by the egg and cheese. You will have more egg leftover by the time you finish what's provided of the croissant and salmon sausage. Bottomline: The sandwich could have benefited from more seasoning (maybe some old bay) built into the patty and a sauce. Maybe a spicy maple glaze or something....anything! As for the turkey burger...well...the presentation was great. They stamp the bun and it looks delicious. But, I can understand why the guy who took my order suggested the salmon burger. Turkey burgers tend to be either over or under seasoned. This one was under, but the shrimp and fixings (and cheese!) saved the day. I saved it to eat at home and added mustard which helped a bunch. For $12, it wasn't bad. The shrimp were a healthy size so given the cost to eat out these days, I think it was decent. Overall, the menu had so many delicious sounding items, I would not be opposed to visiting again. Portions are on the larger size, so be practical in ordering. I should have ordered one of the breakfast sandwiches and split it so we could have tried something additional. So, I would have given 4.5 stars if possible. Check them out! (Note: We got the food to go and are in the car so apologies the pics aren't more appealing. We were starving so I almost dug in before capturing.)
