So much FUN!!! My boyfriend and I went for date night and had so much fun. We went at 8pm and drank multiple beers that were offered on the beer wall and even got the hang of throwing the axe! Anytime a board started to get mangled we asked for a replacement and they got right on it! They also have a really fun arcade area that had skeeball, basketball, and soccer pool! Yes you saw that right. Little soccer balls that are pool balls in stripes and solids! It was fun to continue to enjoy the beer wall even when we finished the axe throwing. Everyone at the establishment was so nice and friendly and we highly recommend this location.

By far this was the most chill axe throwing experience I've ever had, which I think was perfect since our party had so many first timers! I have a friend getting married, and he tasked me with organizing a hangout for the entire wedding party. You can easily go on Stumpy's website to make a reservation, and I did so once everyone who would be in attendance was confirmed.Once completed, a shareable link for signing waivers is provided, and everyone got to it in their own time. As the date drew closer, a few folks ended up cancelling, so I had to adjust the reservation. There's no option (that I saw) to do that online, so I called it and the reservation was updated within a minute. So chill and accommodating!A similar thing occurred the day of when someone cancelled last minute due to getting sick... They were happy to remove them and we carried on as we were supposed to. We went into a training room to get the 101, read rules and ask questions. It was straightforward, though I feel like those further away might've had trouble hearing the dude. We got our two adjacent pits, and I was shocked that the place wasn't full on a Friday night! There were a bunch of pits, a full wall where you could use a drink card to pour beer by the ounce, enough blocks to make a HUGE Jenga stack, bball & skeeball, and pool soccer... where you're using soccer balls and your feet instead of cue balls and pool sticks. I really wanted to play that, but we didn't have time after we finished axe throwing.By the way, that was fun!!! Targets got swapped out as they were worn down, but 2 hours was plenty of time to get a nice arm workout in. Everyone became a pro within the time. The guy occasionally came by to give pointers. The was a big binder with games to spice up the axe throwing gameplay, and a chalkboard with very little chalk (LOL) to keep score. We all enjoyed ourselves and I think we'd return!

Lots of space, clean, and truly a great place to hang out with friends or family! Really quick check-in process with signing a waiver and rules runthrough and then you're off. We had two targets to our group of 3 which was perfect. We stayed for about an hour and it turns out I'm pretty good at axe throwing!!! They had music playing and lots of other games available to play, like lifesized Jenga.Recommend earplugs if you're sensitive like me :)

Got here a few minutes before the group and got the tour from Richard. The sign on the door advised they would be closing early (9pm) because they are short on wood for the targets. Our group time was scheduled for 7pm, so we are starting a bit late.We had about 20 people in our group and 2 'pits' to throw and learn.

Didn't get beheaded by a rouge axe. That was cool! This place is cheaper than therapy and a great time with friends. Noah is the G.O.A.T. As always! I can't speak on the food or drink since I haven't had it yet but I can attest that it's a great time and always a talking point for hours afterward. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is chill and tavern-like! The music is a bit loud at times but along with the chatter and axe-hitting-the-board noises it's not too bothersome as you sort of tune it out :)) I'm also obligated to wish everyone who goes a very safe and fun axe session! Listen to the instructions and you'll do great! Definitely give this place a go if you're thinking of it! Happy axing!

Our second visit, we had a quick check-in process; let they us skip the coaching session, since we've been there before, updated our waivers, and set us up with a throwing pitSince our last visit, they added a game book to each section with a variety of games beyond the traditional scoring system. Loved this addition- Throwing went fine- their boards could use some updates-but the staff was pretty attentive to water & re-bind themWe opted out of the pour it yourself wall, as they didn't have a great selections of IPAsWe admittedly visited to use a gift card, wasn't a bad night out- would probably return if we had another discount or promo

Stumpy's was an experience to rememberGreat stress reliever for my Husband and myself. We are no professionals just a couple looking to have a good time and that we didWe were instructed by Evan and his colleaguesEvan was very professional in his delivery or instructionsHe even checked on us every now and again to make sure we were having fun!I would give 5 stars all around, but what would have been nice is if we knew we had to pay to play the other games in the facility.Definitely would enjoyed paying to play billiards had I known in advance!Other than that some wings and funnel cakes in the premises would be dope! Hint hint!!!!Definitely a great time for couples and people who don't mind a beer or wine beverage while whacking at some wood

My friends and I (group of 4) stopped by Stumpy's today Nov1st and we used a Groupon to get a pretty cool deal on the axe throwing. Josh was the only employee that helped us out today and we was an absolute pleasure. He got us checked in, briefed us on safety rules and gave us a mini tutorial, He also made sure we had everything we needed to have a good night and was rather personable. If Josh is working then I would love to stop by again in the future. On the way out we were stopped by another employee who needed to check if we paid??? That was rather interesting, haven't seen them do this with every other group however we enjoyed ourselves.

11.9.22Came in for an outing with colleagues for an hour of ax throwing. Upon arrival, we were instructed to complete a waiver. Good idea to have waivers so those who are accident-prone like me aren't a liability to them. Once everyone arrived, our coach went over the hatchet throwing rules. Then we were off to show off our skills or lack thereof. I fell into the latter category. Sadly, I was the only one in my group that couldn't get the ax to stay on the board. Merchandise available for purchase include beer, pizza, apparel, and accessories. They have an ATM conveniently located inside. They also have a few arcade games, which you pay separately. Board games, Jenga, and the corn hole are free.It was a bit loud as there was another party there. This venue is located in the back of the building. It's isolated and dark. I'd be afraid of an ax murderer if I were the last one there. Lol.Had a great time, but would have enjoyed myself even more had I not sucked so badly. On a bright note, at least I didn't get injured as I am accident-prone. I still have all my fingers and toes intact. That's an accomplishment in itself, wouldn't you say?

The main website still has a Frederick, MD location on it ( which apparently closed in December) and allows the customer to make a reservation, takes your payment and sends you a confirmation and a working link to fill out a waiver. I can't get in touch with a live person to get my money back!
