If you want what has been hailed the best smashburger in the DMV then heading up to wherever Steezeburger is parked is the way to go.Simply seasoned, no frou frou pattie smashed, and topped with cheese and onions and pickles and a tasty sauce. It really is delicious and hits the spot. And if you happen to have a pupper with you they can make you a pup pattie for a fraction of cost of a regular burger. My dogs certainly enjoyed it. Get the double smash if you're really hungry

I came across Steeze Burger on Instagram during the Summer of 2023. I started following their posts before even trying one of their burgers.A few months after, I attended an event in Damascus, MD and knew their pop-up was going to be at the event. I was determined to try one of their burgers despite a long line at the time. That day I had their Double Burger. Per their pop-up stand, it is described as a 3oz smashed patty, with half steamed onions, American cheese, with pickles on a seeded roll. There is only one sauce: steeze sauce - you will have to ask them what that is.For just a few dollars more I made it a combo which added chips and a drink (water was the other option). Overall, I don't like onions or pickles and requested for them to exclude it. They shared that they could not make any promises but were able to make it with the exclusions. I have learned (moving forward) not to ask for preferences like that when they are really busy.I really enjoyed this juicy burger. The chips were a small bag of Utz potato chips which I have had before and the drink I chose was just a small juice (I can't remember what it was). Overall, I enjoyed the meal. Each week (on Instagram), they post where they will be - it is usually a different location but mostly within Montgomery County, MD. Sundays they are in Gaithersburg, MD unless their schedule shows otherwise.Since the first time I tried their burger, I have been back a few more times, wherever their pop-up takes me. Recently I had one of their burgers with all the fixings, even the onions and pickles - I was missing out.I am always greeted with a friendly face even in times when they are really busy. That is a plus. Check them out sometime.Last enjoyed a Steeze burger - April 2024

About a 1-1.5: I'm sorry, but Steeze Burger is all hype.We were excited to finally check this 'smashburger-style' burger pop-up, so we decided to make the long trek. There was already a line and patrons who have been waiting; our quoted wait time was about 25+ min.We ordered:+the Single - 3 oz patty, topped with steamed onions, Steeze sauce, relish, pickles, and American cheese on a Martin's seeded roll+the Double - two 3 oz patties, topped with steamed onions, Steeze sauce, relish, pickles, and American cheese on a Martin's seeded rollThe burger was not 'smashed', and there was no thinness nor the crispy edges that one looks for. The burger itself was slightly undercooked, and the toppings were a little cheap in the portions.Honestly, we were pretty disappointed, as there are much better burgers out there! Also, we noticed that the whole process was just super inefficient; there were carelessness in terms of dropping food items/ingredients due to too much jibber-jabbering, joking around, and having long conversations; it's like, you know there are people waiting for their food, so being a bit more considerate would be nice!No dice, Steeze - you ain't it.+NOT a smashburger+super inefficient+overpriced

Been looking for this place and hubby finally found it near us. Today they were right in front of Clear Skies Meadery, also near Doggie Zone, off Gude Drive in Derwood. It's literally a tiny pop up tent, two guys and a skillet. I had a double with no pickles, hubby had a regular double. Went at 6:15pm and there was no line, which was great. This location is literally three minutes from our house, which was good since there is no seating. It's a pick up and eat in your car or take home (if you live nearby) kinda place. Paid $26 for two doubles, not really cheap but the burgers were very good. I wish they served fries too! Would eat here again!

Super cheeseburgers from this pop-up stand! I tried Steeze Burger after the Washington Post crowned them as the best burger in the DMV and I've been a fan ever since. I usually get three doubles and two bags of chips when I go. I don't eat red meat very often, so I really want to make it count! I just love the way everything comes together in these burgers. Nothing fancy, just straight-forward carnivore goodness. The staff is always friendly and engaging. They truly seem to love what they're doing and their positivity rubs off on everyone who eats here. A few quick watchouts. Remember that this is a pop-up stand, so seating is pretty much hit-or-miss, depending on where they're setting up that week. I prefer to catch them at microbreweries, so I can snag one of their tables and wash my burgers down with a beer (or two). Also, this is a lean operation, they only have one grill, one cook and LOTS of customers. This means that they're not really built for large orders. Best to visit them with one or two buddies. I wouldn't come here after the swim meet and order burgers for 50 kids -- or even three kids for that matter.Speaking of kids, their shoestring operation does not accommodate special orders -- no pickle, no sauce, extra cheese, etc. That's the tradeoff to get such an exceptional product at a moderate price point. If your group is picky, you might be better served going to a more full-service burger provider-- Shake Shack, Five Guys, and the like.

When someone told me that this was the best burger in the DMV as rated by such and such I got a bit defensive - "Uhhh... have you ever heard of Sunshine Burger" and when that person replied "Oh.. no, I never heard of Sunshine Burger" I immediately felt validated. But this wasn't some arbitrary title given by a passerby, this was Tim Carman and the team at the Washington Post that awarded this honor. So, what did I think of it. I mean... I'm assuming that you can clearly see my 5 stars above the article. If not, take your left thumb on your iphone and remove it from the screen, there you will see 5 red stars. The burger is unadulterated burger bliss. The meat is local, and the freshness is forefront. There are no extravagant toppings or showy aiolis. It is lightly seasoned meat that is cooked quite perfectly on a flattop. The pickles and burger sauce are compliments and not coverups. The bun is engulfed with enough sesame seeds so that the flavor is apparent. It almost tastes as if a michelin chef was told to make their version of a Mcdonald's hamburger without it being obvious that they were a michelin chef. If you're a lover of a thinner pattied burger, there's absolutely no reason you're gonna fault any part of the experience of eating that burger. In fact, it leaves no room for such. So where do I stand on Sunshine Vs. Steeze. Well, they're two completely different products. Sunshine's burger is a thicc boy that is topped with crisp lettuce, tomato and bacon - but the burger itself is still the star of the show owing to it's big girl vibes. Each has a different place in my heart and as a wise Yelper once told me: Your heart can be big enough for two burgers.

Rated the #1 Burger in the DMV! It's a fun hunt to drive to their popup locations across the DMV area. Often setup at local breweries their burgers are the perfect treat to pair with your cold beverage of choice. The staff are attentive and they whip up your burger on the grill at just the right amount of time when the cheese perfectly melts. A+ indeed.

Pop-Up Located outside of Dispensary. First off, amazing idea. Second off, amazing burger.Just some friendly dudes grilling burgers and making people smile. I got the double stack and it was juicy and perfect on a nice spring day like today. Was excited to try this burger out as I heard it was voted best in the DMV not that long ago. Finally got to try them as they did a collab with one of my favorite local BBQ spots - Sloppy Mamas. I will say it is very very Instagramable. It is food porn 100%. It was good but can't say its the best burger I've ever had or even my favorite in the DMV. That honor goes to Duke's grocery/Lucky buns for me. I wouldn't drive an hour to MD for this but if I am nearby, for sure.
