Poor Presentation with a bar taste. Smothered in BBQ.
There were more bones than me
This drink is perfect . Jamaican rum punch. It's 11:00 on a Tuesday and I'm very happy.

The food was pretty good. I ordered jerk chicken plate with rice & peas and cabbage and oxtail gravy. The gravy was a bit sweet but it was good, the chicken was flavorful but I was expecting a little more spice. Jerk chicken is usually spicier but their jerk chicken chicken was more on the milder side. Nonetheless the chicken was still moist and fall of the bone. I also ordered a chicken patty. I was a tad disappointed idk if it was truly chicken or if they gave me beef by accident because it tasted and looked more like a beef patty. I will say that the crust was very soft and flaky. The only real note I have is about the plantains. They were super light which I'm not used to. I wish they were cooked a tad bit longer for more color and crispyness

St Mary's Restaurant and Bar - Disappointing Experience120 W 25th St, Baltimore, MDWe recently visited St Mary's Restaurant and Bar with high hopes, but unfortunately, our experience was very underwhelming. We started with the beef patties, which were quite tasty--spicy beef with a flaky crust. This gave us a glimmer of hope for the rest of the meal, but it was all downhill from there. For entrees, we ordered the curry chicken with rice and cabbage, and the jerk chicken with rice and cabbage. The meal was supposed to come with plantain, but we never received it. The jerk chicken was a major disappointment--it was slathered in BBQ sauce, not the traditional marinade. I even asked specifically if it was BBQ sauce and was assured it wasn't, but that assurance was clearly false. To make matters worse, most of the meat we received--both the curry chicken and the jerk chicken--was bones. Picking through rice and having to constantly watch for bones made the meal feel more like a chore than a treat. The cabbage was completely bland with no seasoning whatsoever. Then came the Mac and cheese, which was an absolute disaster. It was burnt, extremely dry, and honestly one of the worst Mac and cheeses I've ever had. They would've been better off serving boxed Kraft Mac and cheese because at least that's edible. As for drinks, the tequila and ginger ale were downright awful. Not sure what went wrong, but they didn't even manage to get a basic cocktail right. The only saving grace was the service, which was good. However, great service can't make up for food that's this subpar. I hope the restaurant takes feedback seriously because the potential is there, but the execution was beyond disappointing.Would I return? Not unless significant improvements are made.

Went to a pop up business event to support local entrepreneurs and was hungry after. Decided to try this spot. It was pretty crowded so I was very optimistic about the food. I ordered brown stew chicken and my daughter ordered curry chicken. The flavor was outstanding for both. Brown stew sauce was rich and chicken was tender. I loved that it was all white meat. Cabbage and rice and peas are standard as a side. We also asked for a small mac and cheese. My daughter really enjoyed the curry chicken. We ordered size large for both entrees. The portions were disappointing as we had more rice than anything and although we waited 15 minutes for cabbage to cook we only got about a spoon or two full. Mac and cheese was mainly noodles no cheese. The location is easy to find and there is metered street parking. You can eat inside the restaurant and there is also an upstairs. They have a full bar selection and bar seating. You can see the food being prepared and the kitchen looks very clean and the cooks wore gloves and hair coverings.

I have been coming here for years now. The food has always been great, however the reason for the 4 stars is the ordering system and wait time. I called to order and was told they dont do over the phone anymore. They now have an app you have to download or walk in to order which I feel is a big inconvenience for customers. The jerk chicken is always nice and spicy ,cabbage is seasoned well ,rice and peas moist and plantains fried perfectly. I also get the oxtails and they are pretty good. Everyone cant make oxtails. The flavor is great. Their lemonade is sweet and refreshing too. I think next time I come I will try a roti.

I ordered some food over the weekend since I was staying near the downtown area. The food came highly recommended in taste, quality and quantity. When the order was placed, I was told that the food would be ready in twenty minutes. When I arrived, the food had not been prepared. Additionally, there was some confusion about the order in general. Other than the confusion about the order, the food was good. The restaurant looked pretty nice inside. There is a downstairs bar area that I saw, as well as dining area on the main level. I believe there was an upstairs bar, but I didn't see it. If I am not just stopping through during another visit, I might even dine-in. The curry was good but it was missing the requested roti. The rice and peas were good, but macaroni and cheese and cabbage were requested during the initial order. The plantains were good. I would probably eat here again if I was in the area, but I would never place an order over the phone. It just didn't simplify the process for me. Food-wise, I would recommend it.

This place is a solid staple for large cheap strong drinks and spicy food. Opens early and does the internet ordering thing. Free wifi. Friendly people. No mandate requirements.

Second time I've gone to the restaurant m first experience good. My second visit yesterday around 4 was not as satisfactory. Food was delicious but the portion was less than the last time and cost more than the first time. The menu sizes were not explained well by the 'waitress'. We dined in and the waitress never checked on us. She was busy watching something on TV. Don't know if I'll be coming back.

Roti is not wrapped as their menu advertised. The oxtails were rubbery and hard. The rice and plantains were unseasoned. Not a great experience. Will not buy again.
