Southern Blues Soul Food

I had take out, the food was great and very filling. I'd give it 8/10. I also had a coconut cake slice which was amazing.

Soooo I didn't feel like cooking... I know it's horrible lol. But instead of the typical fast food night for my son and I, we tried Southern Blues. It's a carryout so the ambiance isnt really there. The space is clean and spacious. The cashier was fast and my food came out in a good amount time. My son was very pleased with his ribs (he's a picky eater so that's a big deal lol). I also thought the food was well prepared. All in all I had a good experience.

This is my 2nd time here. I did not leave a review my first time. I really enjoyed their lemonades last time I had the blue raspberry. It was on the sweeter side, but I actually appreciate that because it allows me to go home, pour some out and cut it with water, and now I have two lemonades for the price of one.As far as food I got catfish last time and it was season so well. I went to Hip Hop Chicken and got catfish yesterday and it only made me miss southern blue catfish. I was able to see the difference in seasoning versus someone just adding lemon pepper and sugar on top of the catfish. Their catfish at southern blues is actually seasoned well, hence why I came back again today. I don't know how they make their cornbread, but it had me craving more. I can tell there is cinnamon in it, but I don't know what else, but I really do enjoy it. -Their cabbage is good and their sweet potato's is delicious!! -I would definitely recommend this place as a great carryout option for soul food. Next time I come, I'm looking forward to trying their Chicken and I'll be back to leave another review.

Excellent food and service. I went a couple of Sundays ago and ordered the fried pork chop dinner with macaroni and cheese and greens and I ordered the fried catfish with macaroni and cheese and cabbage. I also ordered peach cobbler. The host taking my order was nice and he kept updating me on my wait time. The food was good and the portions were on point. No complaints. It's a carry out place but it's clean. I'll be back. Sorry no pics but trust me it was good.

Southern Blues is hit/miss when it pertains to the consistency of its food. For example I've had chicken wings that are really fresh and I've had chicken wings that are dry and hard. My favorite entrees are the collard greens and the candied yams. I would recommend the chocolate cake. Seafood pasta is more pasta than seafood but the favoring of the sauce is pretty good. Overall this soulfood restaurant carryout is a 5/10!

Let me set the scene.. I'm in town for a sweet 16 party over the weekend, working from my hotel room for the day, it's lunchtime, I'm hungry, and I have no car...You're reading this, so iblnow you know what's next...put Yelp! to work and see what's for lunch, or in my case, lunch and dinner (why pay double the fees when the menu looks so good you don't know what to choose?) Okay, enough chit chat...let's review!Customer service - my order was delivered quickly, sooner than the estimated delivery. I ordered chicken and catfish, but no condiments were included; hot sauce and tarter sauce would have been nice.Chicken wings - I ordered the whole wings. Great choice. They're well-seasoned and had just the right amount of crisp/crunchMac n cheese - just like grandma used to make! Greens - delicious! Tender, but not mushy.Cabbage - pretty darn good!Catfish- same as the wings - well seasoned and perfectly fried. They were a little thinner than I'm used to, but tasty none-the-lessHalf n half - a little on the sweet side, but I just added more iced tea, and it was just fineCornbread - full disclosure: I can never est cornbread another day in my life (exception: my mom's hot water cornbread) and be just fine. That being said, when/if I do eat it again, I hope it tastes like this!

I am completely unsure why I have not completed a review for this place many years ago because I've been eating here for many years! This location is 1 of 3, this one is closest to me and I love it! I love the ease of being able to order online and walk right in and pick up my completed order as well as having the option to go into the store to order or call in. They have a great variety of food, everything is always fresh, hot and good. And your food portions are always plentiful.Customer service always rocks! I've called many times in the past to get pans of chicken wings for events and they're always ready on time.I have the same success when I call for smaller orders, they provide the best customer service and order accuracy.I love that it's not a large turnover rate, so you'll see the same people for many years. There's comfort knowing that this is a good company to work for.Keep doing your thing Southern Blues!!Keep providing quality and fresh soul food to the community to the community. This place is wonderful. Huge portions of food always steaming hot. I always get the salmon and it is perfectly cooked and placed on a bed of rice. The mashed potatoes are fantastic as well as so many items on the menu. The employees are friendly and helpful and the music is good too.

Didn't feel like cooking after church, so off to Southern Blues I go. I should have I cooked. I've had issues here and there in the past, but this week it was not a good decision. Half of the things that I wanted were not available; especially the potato salad. When I got home to eat, the fried chicken tasted old. I even tried making gravy to soften them up...not good. The bbq chicken was not good either. The greens (after I picked a pound of stems out of them) even seemed old. I spent $70 on food and felt like I was robbed. I know you can do better.
