Sorrento's West

Sorrento's has been a general staple for the Catonsville area for many years. I've been coming here for quite a long time and generally have had favorable experiences during that time (around 20+ years). While the people who work here are friendly, easy to talk to, quick to smile and laugh at a joke, the food has really gone rapidly downhill in terms of ingredient quality and overall taste. My most recent experience was unusually disappointing. I bought pizza, cheesesteak egg rolls, and a couple subs to go. First thing I noticed on this trip was the change in ingredient quality. Everything tasted like it was made with low grade ingredients and for lack of a better word was off putting. The pizza wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either. It used to be much more solid, flavorful and worth the cost, now, I'd give the pizza roughly a 2/5 stars at best. Cheesesteak eggrolls were average. The cheesesteak sub was the worst part for me, full of gristle and inedible bits all throughout. I'd give it a 0.5/5 stars. The cheesesteak sub, it had a ton of meat, but was very poor tasting and just an overall disaster. I could barely eat half of it due to the poor meat quality and quite frankly awful flavor, and was forced to threw it away. It speaks volumes when you're willing to throw away food during record high inflation across the US, but I just couldn't get through it. And for the record, I'm a chef, but I've also eaten a lot of different foods of varying quality and I understand that not everywhere is going to be fine dining. However, I can't overlook how disappointed I was on my last trip at Sorrento's. So much so I vowed it would be my last. Simply put here are much better places to eat in the area for the same price with far, far better quality ingredients. Sadly, this is no longer a place I can recommend to go.

I've been curious about this place because I pass by it all the time. It's seems like a popular local spot. The pizza was ok. I wold have liked for it to be cooked a little more. I would definitely go back. I want to check out the wings. The staff is great. And they have a mini arcade section which is super cool.

Delicious cheesesteak and fast service. The pizza was delicious as well. Friendly service and it was very clean despite being super busy. Plenty of parking out front and easily accessible

Watched the young man working there fix the doors on a glass case, I'm assuming it stores food...then go back to adding pepperoni to a pizza. No gloves- did not wash his hands. He finished that pizza, started another pizza, walked away and wiped his hands on his pants. Comes back to finish the pizza--touching the toppings. It's quite clear this is normal because they know their customers can look right at the pizza station. Due to this I tossed my pizza to the trash after picking it up, this is so unsanitary.

Employees were polite but the pizza and fries were not good. The pizza dough lacked any degree of crispyness and the sauce tasted like it came straight out of can. We had half cheese and half pepperoni and we were all hungry. My daughter went back inside and tried to season it with their spices but it did little to help. I couldn't eat it but my daughters ate a slice each. My granddaughter didn't like it either. I ordered her some french fries as well but she only ate a few bc they weren't crispy and lacked any salt. Oh well...we tried.

I ordered a slice of cheese pizza, and a house salad--not very complicated, right? It took more than 20 minutes to get my order, while others with order numbers after mine were served. I had to ask for a bag from the young woman who finally filled my order--others had their orders bagged automatically. When she handed me my order, she wasn't even looking at me; she was talking to someone else.So, they might make good pizza, but they have lousy customer service.The only bright spot was the young lady who took my order; she apologized that no one told her it was ready. But that wasn't her job; it was someone else's, who didn't do it very well.

One of my favorite eats is the steak & cheese, and Sorrento's West makes delicious ones!Besides their subs, they also offer pizza (by-the-slice as well as the whole pie), sandwiches, cold subs, kettle-fried chicken, salads, various sides, and even daily specials.I love their steak & cheese deal, which comes with a side of fries and a fountain soda. The steak & cheese is so so so hot and it's filled generously with juicy meat, cheese, grilled onions, and mayo (always ask for extra!) - this will satisfy any of your cheesy meaty craving! The bread is also always soft, fluffy, and fresh! I also love the fact that it's always consistent, consistently yummy, each and every time!The fries are really tasty, too - they're always perfectly cooked and salted perfectly; no need for ketchup!I may try out the rest of their menu one day, like their pizza that I see everyone ordering, but I always get the sub!The staff here are always super friendly, and they're fast and efficient! My orders have always taken about 15-20 minutes or so, which wasn't too bad.There are plenty of booths to dine-in, but I always take my order to-go; lots of phone orders, too, so just be aware!Don't confuse this Sorrento's with the other one in Arbutus! My goodness! This is some good a$$ pizza! No lie! The 3 star rating is undeserving!haven't been to Sorrento's since I was in middle school. I stopped in a week ago on a Saturday just for a single slice of pepperoni pizza and I can say with pride, it's exactly how I remembered. Cheesy, buttery crust, hot! Perfect! I wish I would have gotten 2. I dined in, the phone never stopped ringing. The wait time was 15-20 mins, noted!! The next day, Sunday, I wanted Sorrento's again. This time I just wanted to order take out and come home to enjoy it. I tried ordering by calling the number on Google and Yelp several times. Back to back for at least 30 mins. I received a voicemail recording every single time. Finally, I just went to the place. It was around 8pm on a Sunday. I wanted a half cheesesteak sub and 1 slice of pepperoni pizza. Sadly the lady informed me they stop selling pizza by the slice at nice! HUGE BUMMER. The wait time for my cheesesteak was 15 mins, it took about 30. I should have eaten it in there because by the time I got home (just 10 mins of a drive) the sub was so soggy. Next time I'll get the sub plain with the fixings on the side! Sunday - Thursday you can get a whole cheesesteak, regular cold cut or meatball sub for $9.99. Totally worth it because a half side is about $8.

Came back from a trip up north on a long train ride and wanted something to eat!I've driven past this place a lot and finally decided to stop in. There were no paper menus that I saw, but there is a large lit up menu behind the plastic barrier counter.I opted to only get a single slice of pepperoni pizza ($2.50). This slice was HUGE!!!I was looking for a sub combo (sub/fries/soda) but they only had this available for a Chicken Cheese Steak (and not Italian sub like I wanted). Of course- there is no dine in availablity in MD at this point but good spacing inside for people to wait for food and be socially distant.The young woman cashier was SUPER nice and patient with my questions and long stares at the menu lol.I will likely order from here for delivery!

Very unprofesssional. I called 4 times to place an order and was placed on hold and hung up on multiple times. The fifth time I called we were told they were busy. I will not order from here again.
