This place deserves an award! First, let's start with the hospitality! We were not planning on eating there so we kindly asked if they would be able to pack certain ingredients on the side and without hesitation, she replied yep we can pack for travel! Then the owner came up and asked us where we were from and started chatting with us. He was so kind and even offered some samples of his vodka and Diablo sauce with some bread... and was it DELICIOUS!!! We then chatted for a few more minutes and this alone made the experience amazing! I wish more owners were like this! Next moving onto the real reason why we went there.. the food. We ordered a chopped Italian to eat there and I don't normally eat Italian sandwiches but this was good! The chopped meats blended with the oil and vinegar with the hearty bread tasted too good to stop. For my dinner I ordered the Sonny's cheesesteak and it was packed beautifully! They packed the meat and cheese separately and the bread by itself. The bread required a light toast and the blend of provolone and whiz was phenomenal! My fiancé got the hot Italian and the meat was packed tightly but somehow the bread managed to stay decently.. not mushy one bit! They do have outdoor seating. You will also have to park on the street but this is a must stop destination if you're wanting a solid sub! The service, food and the welcoming ambiance just all tied into one shop makes it a memorable experience! We will be back for sure !

Sonny's Italian market popped up on my feed for Yelp. This spot is located on Main Street in Elkton. I came for cheesesteaks and an Italian hoagie but I only ordered the cheesesteaks. I'll will be back to check out the hot Italian hoagie.The cheesesteak wit is packed with cheese, fried onions and the ribeye steak. I usually get just provolone cheese on my steak so trying it with the cheese wiz was new. Probably one of the best cheesesteaks that I have had in a while.

Stopped here for lunch. Ordered the Italian hoagie. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it came standard with oil, lettuce, tomato (although I don't do tomato), onion, salt, pepper and oregano; as it should. Most places in Maryland you have to tell them exactly what you want. And to top it off, it was built correctly. Best hoagie I've found in Cecil County.

Local? Get here. When, you ask? Yesterday. Not local? Get here anyway. We're always looking for sandwiches like we can get at our favorite Philly/Delco spots, and we finally found one. It was easy to find, the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. It appeared clean and well organized. And, oh my God, the sandwiches were good. We sampled the chopped Italian and could have eaten it all day long. Fresh, perfectly balanced and perfectly prepared. We ordered a Hot Italian Hoagie and a Cheesesteak WIT. They've got the premium ingredients- Liscio's rolls, ribeye steak, Cooper Sharp, - plus the warm welcome we received make this a new favorite that will stay in the regular rotation for us. Can't wait to go back! Tomorrow maybe?

Look, I'm originally from Philadelphia and it's really hard to impress me with a cheesesteak, anywhere outside the city. In places I've lived or visited and have gotten the classic sandwich outside of my hometown, it's been a disappointment, until now!For once the meat was tender and flavorful and not gristley, like some places who try to pass off some subpar steak sandwich as authentic. Sonny's even has Tastykakes which makes the whole experience spot on.They have the toppings for the steaks that you love, including peppers, onions, and so forth, and as soon as I saw that that you could get it "WIT", I knew it was the real deal!My cheesesteak was absolutely delicious and an excellent value, I might add! I'll be back for a taste of Philly the next time I'm in Elkton!

This place is outstanding! Quality food, good prices, and great service is the standard set by this business. Yesterday I stopped by while on the way to NJ to grab a sub and a salad. The staff took the time to talk thru some options and I ended up getting the Hot Italian sub, an antipasta salad, and some cookies. All food was awesome with the sub filling enough to enjoy a half as a meal. One thing that just be said is the amount of community engagement that the owner displays on their social media. It's great to see! From Toys for Tots postings, collection of food for the needy, and to posting meal options for customers who are observing their religious obligations; this is a reflection of the owner and thier true civic mindedness. That being said this is a true destination for great food that warrants support. Great job!!!

I would say this good damn cold cut place highly recommend tiramisu was also very delicious worth the hour drive!!!

Philly-area native and Sonny's is legitimately one of the best places I've been to for real Philly-style hoagies. Menu full of great choices. I had the Hoagie Man and it was off the charts. Just delicious. If that wasn't enough, super-friendly staff. Worth the trip to a lovely part of downtown Elkton!
