Smokin' Joe's Grill

I was in the Dundalk area by chance and decided to give Smokin' Joes Grill a shot after seeing others' reviews. I think it's worth mentioning that I've never had pit beef before so I am by no means an expert as to what's good or not. I will also say however, that what I ordered, the open face pit beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy was ok. The entire plate was swimming in gravy so that took away from what could've been a better meal. I did ask for gravy on the whole sandwich and the mashed potatoes (because the picture on their website looked like gravy only came on the mashed potatoes and I do like a little extra) but I wasn't expecting a to-go box literally full of gravy, so that's probably my fault. The texture of the beef mixed with all the gravy and mashed potatoes was a bit unpleasant and soupy and I periodically had to pick burnt bits and foil out my mouth so that also took away from the experience. They seem to have a pretty vast menu and I had no idea what I was going to get when I walked in. The young lady that took my order was very friendly and helped me come to my decision so the customer service was good and I appreciated her patience with me. As far as ambiance goes, while I was waiting for my order, there was an older man waiting for his order that was yelling at the tv about how Joe Biden hasn't done anything for this country and that Trump only told the truth. I try not to get caught up in politics with strangers because it really can be off putting but what can you do. I wouldn't do the gravy with a side of open face pit beef sandwich again but there's so many other options I'd like to try in the future should I find myself in the area again. A man that was also waiting for his order said he really like the ribs.

Food was good, especially the Pit beef and Fries and gravy and RibsThe deviled eggs were Not good to me and had big of chunks of green onions or something in itThe service was really good, the girl at the register was really niceAnd the ambience was good, the seating area echos alot though, a little annoying

I road by smoking joes told myself think I will stop by for lunch. I order the steak gravy fries and Ruben I was so impressed the service was dead on great the steak fries was da bomb my Ruben was so good 3 people could have enjoyed this meal large portion price was shocking good I highly recommend you try them like Arnold said. This is a little gem in Dundalk... A small establishment with limited seating inside, and outside seating which is not recommended during this time of the year. Service is friendly and pretty fast. I had the baby back ribs, tender and tasty. Half slab was delicious, but next time I get the full rack, so I can have seconds.It comes with 2 sides, coleslaw and fries in my case. Good combo with the ribs.I'll be back in this part of town to get me some Smokin' Joes

Stopped by because I saw the sign and wanted to try it out. Big parking lot and I guess lots of people eat here. I looked at the menu but I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat. I was thinking brisket sandwich looked good so when I got in and asked the cashier he said they ran out of it. I said ok wow. Must be good them. I ordered a roast beef sandwich minus the roll prepared medium. He said it will take a few minutes and I said ok. I had taken a seat and waited. The front of the house is kinda small but has a few tables for people to eat and it looks clean with a few pictures around. Drink machine on the far wall waiting for some action. I did not order a drink so not going to get any action from me. At the counter they have a cold case with various deserts you can purchase. I was good so I did not order any.Finally, the sandwich arrived. Sorry no pics but trust me it was good.The beef was cut thin and tender. The aroma of the meat was smoke and warm and juicy. The Roast beef was delicious and if I had the roll it would have been even better but for me if the meat is good it should be able to stand on it's own without bbq sauce. The roast beef was seasoned with salt and pepper and spices that reminded me of Texas style bbq. The gave me one small mini cup of bbq sauce. The sauce was delicious and taste. It was thin like ketchup. I like it. Good flavor with a hint of Kansas city flavors. I like Carolina but Kansas city is ok. This is a good spot for roast beast. I will try the other bbq another time so I can give the thumbs up on this spot for good food. Cheers!

It wasn't my choice but I enjoyed my meal. The cashier was new and in training yet very pilot and tried to be thorough. There was a constant flow of customers which was a good sign for me, a first timer. There's a couple tables for eating in, which we did. It was clean and stocked with supplies & condiments. It wasn't "fast food" but it was hot & fresh when it came out. We all loved the fries!! My Smashburger was tall and tasty! I'd go again; saw some things, salads & such, I'd like to try. You should too.

Omg we found this hidden gem while out looking for a quick lunch and it did not disappoint. It's situated in a small neighborhood area so you may pass it but we found it and during the time it was. It busy at all. All the food is cooked fresh and prices are within reason. I ordered wings and my hubby ordered chopped cheese (cheesesteak) and fries. We both had plenty left over so that is always a place. It's a small quaint restaurant but the staff was great and even provided samples of homemade items to try. This is another spot on our list when we return.

Food was amazing!I ordered the Classic Bacon Cheeseburger cooked medium. The temp was closer to medium well, but the flavor was good and the portion is huge! I also had the beef hotdog with chili and cheese added - also really good. The black bottom cupcake was decent, but in my opinion it was a big overpriced. The plain cheesecake was decent as well. I personally wouldn't get dessert from there again, just wasn't worth it. Customer service was phenomenal! The owner was really personable and professional. Interior and exterior was very clean. Seating is limited, but diners have the option to dine inside or outside. With a nearly perfect score of 24.5 out of 25 stars, I give this place an A+ ratingI will definitely return

Nice Portions!!! Great Service and good vibe. Will go back to dine in., so I can try the chicken. Ribs were excellent!!!

Excellent service and the food is delicious. If you are in the Dundalk MD area, you must stop in for some delicious pit beef.
