Smallcakes MD

The cupcakes are pretty good and when I took my family they were raving about the cupcakes as well and were fans of the items they purchased. Now that I'm older its a bit to sugary for me. I took two stars off because they are inconsistent when it comes to the hours and operation of the restaurant. When I looked on Google, it said that the store was opened. I drive up there today and see a store that looks empty on the inside with no cakes displayed and the lights off with a mop bucket in the center of the floor. Then I see a sign that they have closed this location and have moved. That's really unfortunate because the only other location I know of is in White Marsh MD and I'm not driving up that far.

My niece was in town for a quiet weekend with family to celebrate her 30th birthday. It turns out that it was also mine and my twin's birthday a few days before and my bonus son's birthday was the same day as my nieces. I was put in charge of bringing dessert. Knowing that we all have very different tastes I thought it would be good to get a sampling of cupcakes and had heard good things about Smallcakes. The store was clean and tidy and we were greeted as soon as we entered. It was getting closer to closing time so it was quite quiet and some of the stock was gone for the day but we still had wonderful options to choose from. We selected a dozen cupcakes and we're on our way quickly. A little bit pricey but after we sample the cupcakes, totally worth every penny! If you haven't been to Smallcakes, you should go, you're totally missing out! Love supporting small local businesses!!!

This is a cute bakery with wonderful service. Nykia had a really great personality and she was very patient.The cupcakes are very pretty, but they weren't very good to me. I've had box cake taste exactly the same. My husband thought the cookies and cream one was ok. I thought it was ok as well. My daughter thought the birthday cake one was ok. My husband thought the wedding cake one was ok, but my daughter and I hated it. My daughter and husband thought the red velvet was just ok and I didn't like it at all.Overall, the cupcakes weren't good enough to return.

It is the hardest thing to not show up here everyday when they first open to grab cupcakes. My family and I never get tired of them and this sets the standard for what cupcakes should be. The bread is ALWAYS soft and moist. They make all of theirs homemade and you can tell by the flavor. My go to cupcake is the wedding cake, pink vanilla and the amazing hot fudge sundae. I usually grab a variety but those are my top 3. The cake push pops are such a fun treat as my teen just grabs a couple each time he sees them.

There is nothing small about the deliciousness of the desserts at this place. I love ice cream, but then again who doesn't?! A friend recommended that I try the banana pudding ice cream here. A fine recommendation indeed. It was bursting with flavor and banana pudding goodness. The servers were friendly and pleasant, patient and attentive. I also took home 4 of their cupcakes and oh my goodness!!!! The decadence, the moisture, the flavors. Small cakes is a gold medal winner!

I'm always in search of a good cake or cupcake. I stopped here today right before closing time. I was greeted by a bubbly staff member. Options were limited due to the time. I opted for the red velvet cupcake and a lemon cupcake. Talk about moist! I was hesitant and expected a stale cupcake but the red velvet was fresh. They also have ice cream that I need to try. I'll be back in the future at a better time.

I recently placed an order with Smallcakes for a custom birthday cake for my Dad who was turning 80 along with cupcakes. I was familiar with the business because I had purchased cupcakes before and they were delicious. I wasn't sure that would be the case with the cake, but I am happy to say that the cake was equally delicious. Not only was the product fresh and great tasting, the ordering process was easy and efficient. I requested that my order be delivered and they were on time and the cake looked fantastic. I would highly recommend them for your sweet needs.

So appreciative that they were willing to bake me a pound cake birthday cake and it was absolutely delicious and beautiful.So hard to find a bakery that will bake a pound cake birthday so every year, it is a challenge as the ones from previous years did not turn out well. I have been everywhere including the Watergate Bakery with no luck. Smallcakes Annapolis did a wonderful job and their customer service is absolutely great. Highly recommended!

Cupcakes are great, but the heavy-set woman behind the counter was snippy and disrespectful. I waited 10-15 minutes because a customer in front of me was buying a lot of ice cream. No one else can come out and help? Then the woman behind the counter proceeds to tell me I should have called ahead because it took her an extra 15 seconds to add additional cream cheese icing (a request I aways make and with others who worked here without any drama). Then she starts arguing that she told my "partner" (spouse)to call ahead - not true - and really? I wonder where she came up with the term "partner"? Very unpleasant and unnecessary experience.

Smallcakes saved my granddaughter eleventh birthday party. It was a last minute party and the owner was able to accommodate our request graciously. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The cupcakes were amazing. Perfect texture and not too sweet. Our new bakery
