Skyvibe Restaurant and Lounge

It definitely was a vibe at Skyvibe! I had an enjoyable time with some friends at the bar area last night. The place has a very dark aesthetic, the music wasn't overwhelmingly loud, and as it got later, there was live music from a violinist. We first ordered drinks, and the bartender was so kind to bring me a free additional cocktail! I'm not sure what the second drink was but it tasted better than the banana island cocktail I first ordered. I will admit, the drinks are a tad pricey, especially for Laurel, MD, so it was nice to get a free drink. We eventually ordered some food and got a side of jollof and the salmon bites, which came with a really tasty dip. I really loved the salmon bites and they made a great bar snack. It's great to have a bar/lounge with DC vibes in suburban Maryland. Saves time for having to drive all the way down to the city.

Unfortunately, the experience at skyvibe was not what I hoped for. I had heard good things about the spot from a friend of mine who had been a couple of times. We arrived around the 9:30pm on a Friday evening. The main floor (bar area) had a decent size crowd, plenty of tables and bar seats available. After we got seated we were told that they were only serving food from their "late night" menu, which consisted of a variety of small bites and sides. I get that happens after a certain hour, but they were out of at least 3 of their main items available from that menu. We ended up going with the wings and side of jollof rice. When the wings finally came out they were not fresh at all. Hard and cold. When we notified our waitress she said, this unfortunately happens all the time. The manager came over immediately and rectified the situation by bringing us a fresh batch of wings, which were good. The jollof rice was also on point. Overall, not a great experience. In their defense they did have a huge party earlier that day, so I'm guessing that played a part in our not so great experience.

Where do I begin! We were excited to feel the vibes at skyvibe lounge and experience some karaoke however we showed up on game night lmbo.... However the night was amazing! When you walk in you can feel the luxury, the decor, paintings and overall aesthetic is simply beautiful. We were seated immediately as it wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night at around 7:30 ish. Our server was so nice as she had her work cut out for her. I was with a party of 9-10 to celebrate a birthday. And our waitress was the sweetest, took her time , made sure to get everyone's meal correct, and was a pleasure. She explained the meals perfectly to the non- Nigerians in the bunch and gets a A+ from me for pronouncing the names of some items on the menu. She even was invited into our pic and willingly obliged. Nandi absolutely passed the vibe check. If you visit ask for Nandi!!!!! Yes, I say wholeheartedly this place has the most authentic Nigerian food I've had at a restaurant. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. I got ewedu & gbegiri w/ amala and that food was the best and most amazing I've had in this continent my goodness a 10 out of 10. The food was so good my sister wanted to meet the chef but unfortunately she had gone for the day. Many blessings to the establishment. Laurel needs a place like this and I will definitely be back for karaoke on the right night. We ain't get the karaoke but we definitely got the vibes .

I came around 530pm for ladies night on a Wednesday currently they are giving 1 free lemon drop to each lady who comes in. Your choice of flavor from strawberry, mango, passion fruit, watermelon and white peach of course the regular lemon as well. I tried the passion fruit , watermelon and the white peach and wow that white peach has won for me. Ask for Alex he makes great drinks and is an amazing waiter and bartender ! The resturant is beautiful and has ample parking so you won't have to stress about parking when coming here. We had the jollof rice which I personally was nervous about but it is definitely not he best jollof rice I have had from any resturant in the DMV and I have tried at a minimum 10 different places. I'm Nigerian and My sister is a chef and even she raved about how good the rice was. We also got the spring rolls you have the option of beef , shrimp or chicken. You truly will not regret it. They are not your average spring rolls they are massive ! It comes with 2 split in 4 but I promise it is extremely filling. Between the jollof and the spring rolls we were unable to eat our main course. The spring rolls are PACKED they did not skimp on these and they taste even better. It comes with a sauce that is truly not needed because the chicken is seasoned very well and everything else inside the roll adds to it 12/10 for me. The resturant was clean and quiet in the first half of our meal and started to fill up as we sat and ate. All food is made to order so it will be coming out pipping hot for you. Great for a date night , night out with friends, happy hour, solo date, work from home etc. They do offer a variety of drinks as well as hookah for $43 which isn't a bad price for the area. In the summer they do open up their rooftop and I can't wait to come on back.

Met a friend here on a Tuesday evening. Free street parking, Infront and on the side of the building around 7pm. At the very end of the blockBarcode scan menu. Prices on their actual website differed (much cheaper) than the barcodeI only had 1 drink. It was okay. Bartender seemed to be one of those "professional" bartendars. He was the only one working until maybe 9pm, so he was hustling making sure everyone was being taken care ofBathrooms were nice. Although 1 stall did not have toilet paper whatsoever, but the lid was up like it had been previously cleaned (but not restocked)A lady was there for Karaoke if anyone wanted to sing by 9pm!There is Hookah and an Outside patio area

Skyvybe Lounge exceeded my expectations! The service was prompt and the ambiance is absolutely stunning--perfect for a laid-back yet elevated experience. I ordered the wings, which were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the green tea shot was smooth, strong and refreshing. The overall vibe of the lounge made it a great spot to unwind and enjoy delicious food and drinks. BONUS: every Wednesday is ladies night Highly recommend!

Saturday afternoon, I popped into the restaurant to meet up with a girlfriend. We were warmly greeted by the manager, Yaya. We were seated immediately on the main level.It's definitely an international /African vibe. With modern and upscale decor. Our waiter was super nice. We ordered a martini which was great! For entree, I ordered the Skywings in Buffalo flavor. What I loved is that they were able to do all flats and bake my wings hard. For my entree, I ordered the lamb chops which were delicious. For my sides , I had the jollof rice and plantains. I took off a star because it took a while for food to come out. Not just my table, but others . So, much I watched a couple leave. Yaya gave us a great tour of the skylounge! We learned it doesn't open until after 5pm. I definitely plan on checking it out on a busy night like a Thursday , Friday, or Saturday. Street Parking is available on the right of the building or right on Main Street.

This place is extremely well decorated and located right off Main Street on a cute walkable street. When we arrived around 5:30 we were the only guests but soon others started filling in. I had to ask if there was happy hour and was told it's $1 off basic liquors. I would have e preferred a menu to see this for myself but also no direction or clarity was provided if happy hour included any food menu items and whether their cocktails were a part of it. They seem to do a shared waiter model where various waiters help one another so you aren't waiting on one singular person for help. I prefer this method. Our waiters were attentive. My lamb chop dinner was good, however the lamb could have been seasoned more. Also the menus here are paper which can again and get dirty very easily. No prices were on the drink menu which for me I prefer transparency. For two people, with one meal each and 3 drinks total our bill was $150.

I really want to like this place but eh, third time was probably not a charm. Beautiful establishment but OVERLY priced with an underwhelming menu. Nothing I got on the menu was appealing. Communication is non existent. My friends and I bought tickets for a sip n paint that was originally set for a Friday but then changed to a Wednesday. I reached out to both the business SKyVibe and the event planner; we got no response from neither business and no refund issued. Very unprofessional and it's unfortunate because Sky Vibe is so close but cannot be my neighbor hangout spot.

Ambiance: Very nice. The restaurant was beautiful. We arrived at 8PM. Around 9 the restaurant went pitch black and the only lighting came from a strobe lights. We could barely see our food. Rating: Service: Ehhh ok. We arrived on time for a reservation and was asked to wait. The restaurant was maybe 15% full. It was like they were not expecting us. They eventually sat us in the bar area. Our waitress was also the bartender. We had to ask for things twice. Rating: Price: Astronomical. See screenshot. Too many fees involved. The service fee was apart of the cart. Then gratuity added after the subtotal. Because the service fee was added to the cart it made the gratuity more. The service was below average for all those fees. Rating: Drinks: We all the love potion. Not nasty but not good. Waaaaaaay too sweet. We were asking for ice to water it down. Rating: 1/2Food: The lamb chops were cooked perfectly. The veggies were blanched. I would've preferred them steamed. They still had a crunch to it. But good flavoring Rice wasn't too bad but I've def had better. This was spice and smoke. No real flavor. Lamb chops: Veggie: Rice: 1/2Parking: Street parking. Got to area around 6 so it was fairly easy. Later I could see parking being hard and needing to Uber.Would I visit again..... HELL NO!!!
