Skateland North Point

Everyone knows how I feel about Baltimore, however I will do anything for the kids. This particular Saturday I was attending a birthday party for a 9 year old with my daughter. Upon entry i knew things were going downhill when I witnessed a gentlemen outside with shades on and a lime green blazer with gold teeth. Upon entry I was hit with the smell of smoke. I handed my card over and was not told the prices nor my total. When I asked for a receipt I was told they do not provide receipts. After getting my daughters skates on which I am pretty sure they do not spray ewwwwwwww she proceeded to skate. Now we skate often and am upset I forgot hers and are used to a good Kidz Bop playlist however these people were playing at full speed everything inappropriate including "Pound Town" I was shocked. I wasn't surprised when my daughter and her little friends came over to notify us of a fight in the corner by the bathrooms. I will never return, they run this place like the slum it is located in versus providing some type of kid appropriate quality establishment.

My go to ! Always a blast ! Staff is always friendly as well ! I would recommend bringing your own food or the location having better food ! However, pretty cheap fun and exercise !

Why are kids being told they need to be off the property prior to closing? Friday night skate ends at 11pm and 5 mins prior mine were told they had 5 more mins to stand outside to wait for me to get them or they needed to stand on the other side of north point? By a bar???? Telling my teenage kids to stand by a bar! I arrived at 1057 and was tempted to find whoever feels they have the authority to harass my kids for doing nothing wrong. Another thing, staff better start keeping their eyes open and deterring the sexual harassment/hate speech that is occurring on the property. It's becoming a common theme and if I keep hearing about it, I'm going to escalate my complaint to authorities. It's illegal in case any staff forgot.

Skateland North Point is a diamond in the rough. On one hand, you have a family-friendly rink with off-street parking, nestled in a relatively safe part of town. This facility has large wooden skating surface that is in impeccable shape; quite possibly one of the smoothest and most level surfaces in the region. In fact, the floor is such a dream to skate on that the Charm City Roller Girls use it as their practice arena. However, not everyone goes to a roller rink to skate. For some, atmosphere and sociability are the main concerns, and this is where Skateland North Point suffers. The place is icky. The carpets look like they have never been vacuumed and the bathrooms feel like something out of a federal prison. For this reason, it doesn't strike me as a desirable hangout, even for the younger set. But, if you can look past the grime, Skateland North Point does have a few redeeming qualities besides the rink surface. The snack area is quite large with several rows of tables, a snack bar, and a cleared area where extra tables and chairs can be added. It is perfectly setup for children's birthday parties. Granted, I would suggest that any potential party planners bring their own grub because the kitchen facilities in the snack bar could use some modern updates and a bucket of bleach. Overall though, if you are interested in an affordable night of skating or an inexpensive place to throw a kid's party, Skateland North Point is probably your best bet for safe family fun.

My favorite rink in the greater Baltimore area. Well kept floor, enthusiastic management, and good location. This rink cares about roller skaters of all types, and works to maintain a good, safe facility. Some folks have complained about cleanliness - but honestly, it is still above par than other area rinks in terms of things like carpet off rinks and restrooms. That's not enough to knock off a star from my rating - for me it's all about a maintained floor and enjoyable atmosphere.

this place is garbage it took my dollar it only said one dollar but of course they're gonna charge higher and then they're gonna say no what the hell

not good at all this place needs to close down , the owners just let this place drop to the gutter , everything in there is old old and old , nothing new ... food is horrible no tops for the drinks , condiments, tables was dirty , floors had first marks on them like it was mop with a dirty mop , this is very sad and heart breaking that our kids have to deal with this place as there only option of skating places in east Baltimore , the owners have got to do better my kids not going back , nothing has change in years.

This place needs to replace all of their skates. They have holes in them and the laces all have knots in them and are frayed so you can't even tighten them. And they charge $4 to rent the the broken skates. Also $6 is a rip off to rent the walker. Would not recommend.

This place has a great floor but play some of the most trash music all night long... there is not a night where you can escape the lids bop playlist and it's repetitive every single day and night... Thursday nights are empty and yet the owners complain about not being able to have an adult night even with majority adults and yes kids bop is still the playlist for 3 hours straight! Its sad definitely being a regular and even skipping a closer rink just to skate here. There once was skaters there and they were forced out by the music alone!

This place is fun. Most of the problems come from parents who just drop their kids off like it's a day care center. Your kids are not as well behaved as you think they are. The rink is fantastic and looks like it was recently redone. Plenty of well lit parking. Could use some more renovations inside but that 70's/80's feel is retro now right? Go and have a good time but make sure to watch your kids.
