We wanted to support a Black woman-owned business as we planned our wedding! We could not ask for a more professional business owner in Kathy! She facilitated a virtual tasting- we were able to select our flavors, pick up a box for the tasting and login from home as Kathy guided us through the most delicious cake flavors!The price was very reasonable, service was impeccable, and the cake was delectable! We will definitely be looking for another reason to get our desserts from Kathy at Simply Desserts!

I have a long history with Kathy. Over 30 years! One of the smartest, sweetest and talented persons you will ever meet. In 2003 Kathy made my wedding cake! Incredible! She custom-designed a 7 cake display with 7 unique flavors...basket weave design on all seven cakes. Simply gorgeous. Since then, many more. Recently, my nephew celebrated his 12th birthday. He requested a Rolex watch! . He got one! Kathy designed a beautiful Rolex themed lemon cake with lemon buttercream and raspberry preserve. I also ordered a second cake... a traditional Vienna cake found in the Virgin Islands decorated gorgeously for a family gathering. I can't say enough about Kathy's talent and attention to detail. Both cakes were quite amazing.

Kathy is THE BEST. Hands down. She's friendly, sweet, and so easy to work with. The cake was gorgeous. The layers were AMAZING. She was willing to help us tweak the flavor to get exactly what we wanted, and the pricing was so reasonable. We will be getting our first anniversary cake from her as well. Try the Bailey's Irishcream. That was our middle tier, and I could have eaten that for days!!!

Simply Desserts is wonderful! Our cake was delicious, and absolutely beautiful, we got many compliments on it. The flavors we chose were Mudslide (Bailey's & Kahlua filling on yellow cake) and Chocolate Nutella (chocolate hazelnut filling on chocolate cake).We tried several popular bakers in the area before our tasting with Kathy, and after meeting with her it was no contest. Her cakes tasted the best, looked great, she was friendly and very professional, and her prices are amazing!I took her several photos of cakes I liked, we reviewed her book of designs, and then combined elements from all of them. It was so exciting on the big day to see the final product, especially when it was PERFECT and exactly the vision I had in my head!If we ever need a professionally done cake in the future, my first call will be to Simply Desserts!

Ordered a cake for my son's 2nd bday party. There wasn't a crumb left. Even the trees, etc, were edible.We will be getting one for my daughter's bday....

My husband and I are SO proud of our wedding cake. It's honestly the best cake we've ever had, and we love cakes. This is real buttercream icing, not horrible american grainy frosting. And I've had "european buttercream" from some bakeries and they were stiff and flavorless, but this was spectacular and smooth and buttery. The cake and fillings were fabulous too, we got the raspberry tiramisu and the black russian combinations. Guests loved them both!!Kathy was superb from the very first email. I was trying to work within a tight budget, but I had a specific idea of what I wanted. I emailed something like 30 vendors but Kathy's email response stood out, not only because it was in my price range (as quite a few were) but she responded with knowledge about the specific kind of icing and color and design I wanted. I thought I wanted something impossible because every vendor said no, but Kathy took what I wanted and helped me find a way to accomplish my creative goal without sacrificing quality of the product. Kathy knows her stuff!I live in Los Angeles, but she was able to work with me long distance. When John & I were finally able to meet her in person she sketched out the design of the cake for us, which really helped cement in my mind what it would look like and how it would go with the other elements in the wedding. After the wedding we decided to box up the leftovers and take them with us rather than freezing the top per tradition, however if you want to do that Kathy has instructions. Instead, we ate the rest in bed after the wedding. :)And she was always quick to respond to my emails, which was a big deal because I have a hectic work schedule and tight deadlines so I planned most of it on my lunch break.Thank you Kathy! We were so happy to find Kathy and Simply Desserts when we were planning our wedding. She is so personable and lovely to work with. She has a ton of delicious flavor combinations, and our tasting helped us narrow down and then make a final, wonderful choice for our wedding cake. We were married in September 2018, and we froze the top layer of our wedding cake, but when we got back from our honeymoon, we decided to eat the rest! There's not much more to say other than we loved the taste and the look of our beautiful cake, and working with Kathy was wonderful. I am so happy to see the other 5-star reviews, because they are truly deserved. In fact, as we approach our second anniversary, we are asking her to make us a casual version of our wedding cake to celebrate! Despite or perhaps because of COVID, we want to relive the wedding cake memories at home with our family!

At first, I chose Simply Desserts because it was one of the only bakeries around that will deliver on Sunday. I threw a Moroccan themed party for my mom's 65th birthday. Kathy took the time to work with me, through email, to design an amazing cake. I did not feel comfortable with the larger bakeries since I was passed to different people each call. This is one of the reasons small businesses are best. Kathy created a masterpiece that not only looked amazing, but tasted amazing as well. She was so easy to work with and created the perfect cake within my budget. She is very communicative through email. I will definitely use her again and recommend her highly!

Ordered a cake for a baby shower and it was beautiful and delicious. Numerous party goers commented on the wonderful cake and several asked for Kathy's website so they could order cake from her in the future. The butter cream filing and frosting was amazing - light and not overly sweet. Kathy was very responsive and easy to work with. I highly recommend her business.
