Last night my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Seb-Seb. We had been talking about finding a place that serves Ethiopian cuisine and after doing my research I found that this location came highly recommended. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and sat. Soon after our server arrived with water, and showed us the QR code to pull up the menu. They have a full bar at this location and so we ordered a few drinks while ordering for our food. Now, let's talk about the star of the show, the food. We opted for the veggie deluxe combo, which was a colorful platter the showcased the rich flavors of yellow peas, split lentils, kale, carrots, potatoes, black beans, red beets, cabbage, green beans, and salads. The freshness of the ingredients was immediately evident. We also got the Doro Wot which were chicken legs simmered in flavorful sauce with incised hard boiled eggs. If you've never had Doro Wot...OMG!The Lega Tibs might've been top 5 steak dishes I've ever had. So tender and super flavorful I don't think there's anything I could compare it with to give it proper justice. Just wow!You can tell that the ladies running this restaurant really care about the food they're serving, and want people to have a good experience when they come. They would come and check on us to see how things were going, but they had already won us over after the first couple of bites. One of the ladies suggested the honey wine, and if, actually WHEN you come "GET IT". It was sooo good. They weren't super busy while we were here, but it was Thursday and between rush hour and dinner time but again we had a great time. We rarely venture out to silver springs, but it looks like that's about to change.

Came to meet up with a friend for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! The inside dining area is swanky, but also connected to a pretty bare-bones liquor store which creates a mismatch labyrinth to find the bathroom, snaking past storage crates, etc. It's a little odd, but if you're not particular, it's not big deal. There's a lovely covered outside area to eat, which is what we opted for. For some reason, the plastic clover "growing" on the outside wall really amused me.The food - awesome. I think we made the right choice to get one Vegetarian Sampler and one order of lamb tibs to split. Everything on the vegetarian platter was delicious. My favorite was the lentils with berebere spices. They even had a small salad which was good, but surprising that it was spicy! The lamb tibs were flavorful and came with slices of spicy peppers that were a delight. Not for those sensitive to spicy food! They have plenty of drinks inside, but it's hard to go wrong with a nice glass of Tej (Ethiopian honey wine), which they didn't skimp on when pouring! My only complaint would be that we ran out of injera bread (this is probably the first Ehtiopian place I've been to where they served our food directly on a plate without a large piece of injera underneath) and the waitstaff is pretty hands-off so it took a while to get someone to bring out some more. But if that's my only complaint, it's not a bad experience overall!

I've been on the hunt for an Ethiopian restaurant that serves tasty vegetarian/vegan dishes, most places tend to have delicious meat dishes but the side items including the vegan options are subpar, I discovered Seb-Seb as part of my search. We ordered our food Togo but we went and picked up the food so it gave us a chance to get a feel for the vibe of the place. Parking is tight in that area so I'd recommend parking on the street along Sligo Ave or the intersecting streets. We went on a weekday so it was not as lively as I would have expected it to be but the place is colorful and upbeat. The biggest thing I appreciated about Seb-Seb is their presentation. Most places tend to pack their food in one of those white styrofoam square boxes which sometimes especially for Ethiopian food, takes away the appeal and the beauty and prevents you from appreciating each item separately. Seb-Seb uses a round Togo plastic container which allows for a perfect presentation of all the dishes; they even made a point to use a sticker with their logo on it to close the bag together. They were pretty quick at getting our food ready and they offer drinks while waiting. We ordered lamb tibs, quanta firfir, veggie platter (miser wet, ater kik, gomen, Shiro, tikel gomen) which is an assortment of types of lentil/pea dishes and cabbage/kale dish. We also tried the lentil Sambusa. The sambusa was perfect, most places tend to make the dough thick which makes it chewy to eat, but this dough was thin and flakey with well done and well seasoned lentils, it was delicious. The quanta firfir was so flavorful and perfect spice level (might be a bit spicy for someone not used to the heat). The only reason why I'm giving it a 4 star is because the veggies did not deliver for me, Miser wet is my favorite dish and it was lacking the heat and flavor was not Upto par. The Shiro was not amazing either. I'll probably go there again but my perfect veggie search continues.

Great food and excellent service! We were the only customers in the location so the ambiance might be different at other times but for us, the music was great and made for a wonderful night out!

Took my lady here for an evening dinner date. Walked in and were instantly greeted by the owner. The place was small but cozy. It gives you habesha dc lounge vibe. Great music accompanied by music videos. Ordered the veggie platter with lamb tibs (best lamb tibs I have ever had). The food was slamming! Presentation was on point also. Babe is Eritrean and was impressed by the quality. Everything was so fresh. We stayed for hours conversing sipping on honey wine. The owner checked on us the perfect amount of time and even turned the lights down creating a romantic setting just for us! We left feeling like we have a new Auntie! We will definitely be frequenting this hidden gem!

The first place I tried to order Ethiopian dinner delivery from last Friday when hubs was sick had technical difficulties and cancelled the order, this was the next place on the list that popped up. I'm so glad it did! We loved the food! We got doro wat (which has quickly become our favorite Ethiopian dish), beef tibs ordered medium rare (they weren't medium rare by the time they arrived, but I didn't expect they would be - I ordered them that way so they wouldn't be charcoal briquets when they arrived, and they weren't so it worked out.) and the veggie combo plate which came with all the standard stuff. Oh, and two sambusas. We wanted enough for leftovers and we had it. Everything was so good! We did NOT order extra injera, and I'm glad we didn't, because we still had some left after eating it for dinner twice.Every place we've ordered from has had slightly different flavors of everything but it's always so good. Here, there actually was a little heat to the doro wat and the tibs. Not a ton, but some. The doro wat came with a topping that was either clotted cream or a mild cheese, not sure which but it was delicious with the smokey stew. The tibs came with a smokey red sauce which I also liked a lot. The veggies weren't spicy at all, but had good flavor. I especially liked both the red and black lentil like dishes. The sambusas were good, but I think Meleket's sambusas were a little better IMO. I think the veggies might have been a little better here. Probably a tie for both the tibs and the doro wat, but they weren't identical, just equally good.I really want to try dining in here since it's a little off the main drag in Silver Spring and might be easier to get to and park. But I'd absolutely order takeout again.

Especially recommend their veggie sampler, kik alicha (yellow split peas), shiro, fosolia (string beans and carrot dish), and chicken ribs. So delicious! So so glad this place exists- we go almost every time we are in the DMV.
