An interesting place clearly inspired by the various cuisines of the Spanish-speaking world. I would not call any of this place traditional Mexican, Salvadoran, Spanish, etc. but a lot of the food is reminiscent of those cuisines. You walk in and there's a counter, a few tables, and a fridge with some to-go desserts. Several folks were standing waiting for a to-go order. We dined in, so we walked down the narrow hallway to the back room full of booths and tables. With lots of art for sale on the walls, it's got a nice cozy vibe going on.We were there on the later end on a random Tuesday, so we were the only people there. Our waiter brought us a basket of chips and salsa and after looking over the menu, I took his suggestion to get the paella. Their paella is not a traditional paella valenciana by any stretch, but it's sort of a cross between that and a jambalaya: rice-based with shrimp, chicken, and sausage, pleasantly spicy with some veggies thrown in too. While I originally balked at the price ($28 as of this writing), it was dinner and then two more meals when I took it home; it's easily 2-3 servings, making that price less daunting. My wife got the Tapas Platter, which was a great way to sample the variety of appetizers. A tasty chicken tamal, some spinach empanada (which had a kind of "meh" dough), a cheesy pupusa, and a salchipapa (potato stuffed with ground sausage and cheese) which my wife went mad for. There is a kids menu and Child #1 opted for a cheese quesadilla which seemed standard and Child #2 opted for a burger and fries which was pretty big for a kids meal, but I'm not complaining!BYOB - they even have a sign encouraging folks to go a few doors down to the liquor store if customers want to bring something in.The service wasn't very fast, but it wasn't bad. The food was decent, but it does seem a bit streamlined, so don't come here for a big variety of street tacos or the whole gamut of pupusas. That said, it was an overall solid dining experience.

Salsa Grill is a food-tastic time! This is a MUST EAT Place!Anytime I'm in Baltimore I ensure to stop in for the Caribbean Paella. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has a mom and pops feel to it and is perfect for any occasion. The authentic flavors of the food provide for a majestic experience and are always spot on. I've tried a few things off the menu and nothing has disappointed me. I started with the Beef Empanadas which are stuffed with meat and wrapped in a perfectly baked flakey crust. These are a great way to start the meal as I am a lover of authentic meat pies. The main course selections are all enticing, however, the Caribbean Paella truly has a place in my heart. I don't eat shrimp so I order mine with No Shrimp, and replace it with Extra Chicken. (I also ask for extra onions) The chicken is always moist, meaty, and grilled to perfection. The flavor blend of the chicken and sausage deliver a happy tastebud focused experience. Furthermore, the portions are more than enough and perfectly aligned with the price point of the menu. This visit was yet another flavorful, stomach pleasing, tastebud awakening experience. Thank you to the Chef(s) for always being spot on and to the Staff for always smiling and providing an engaging and warm experience.

The food and service here is amazing. They are a very small restaurant but they have some of the best shrimp cheesesteaks in the area.

I frequent this restaurant a lot, however this will be my last time. My order was not great at all. I got the crab and shrimp alfredo. The price is 33.99, the amount we use to get was a lot with jumbo lump crab meat. It's not longer jumbo lump crabmeat also there was on 6 small shrimp.

Important DetailsGOOD: Food, ServiceBAD: Price - depends on the customerSalsa Grill was a pleasent surprise. They were the lucky beneficiary that my "go to buffet" was closed tonight. A good turn of fate as my carribean paella was excellent - and heaping! The service was very good, friendly and accomodating. The Paella was fresh, varied, HUGE, and supports all the customer fanfareThe menu is toward the steeper end in price given the genre and atmosphere of the restaurant. Many dishes are 14+ and most appetizers +10 The paella was 27.00. Here is the rub, if you pace yourself and leave with leftovers you feel happy and know you got two/three meals for the price. If you let loose and eat the mountain, you will be reeling from carbish coma and drop a decent amount of money for your meal. Don't do it :) Win win to leave with left overs and enjoy it the next night. Give Salsa Grill a try, the quality in food is worth it.

The service was slow from start to finish. The waitress was very nice but it took a very long time before we could order, food took a while, then the waitress didn't come back to give us the check for a very long time. I ordered a taco salad and they served what looked more like nachos. This was $15. Would not recommend.
