A good Indian restaurant walking distance from our airbnb! The portion for the chole batura was MASSIVE. The spicy shrimp dish my husband got was decently spicy. Service is fast and the ambiance is casual but nice.

Sakoon has quickly become my go to spot for Indian food in the area. The staff is always helpful with questions. The food is delicious and they offer an extensive menu for vegetarians and vegans.

This is our go to. My partner (whose dad is from Mumbai) and I love this place. I know I can always rely on Sakoon for comfort food for my honey when they're having a bad day and need a hug in food form. We have never had anything bad from here, from the beloved classics (butter chicken and tikka masala) to the food that he grew up eating and ate in India (fish chili and kheer) we are obsessed. I love everyone at and the vibe of sakoon. It's our little escape. The chefs really are turning out amazing meals here. Couldn't ask for more.

This is a GEM! Randomly stopped at this spot mid afternoon. The food was so flavorful and the chicken was cooked absolutely perfectly! Our server had such a gentle personality, very kind. The whole experience was great, perfect date spot :) 10/10!

I'm obsessed with this place! Some of the best mango lassi that I've found thus far in the Baltimore area. Their buffet, while better (and slightly more expensive) on weekends, is fantastic value at ~$16/person. They offer unlimited mango lassi as part of their buffet, and also had gulab jamun, plain rice, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, goat curry, aloo pakora, plain naan, and much more! A personal favorite that I tried during the buffet was the Sakoon chicken kabob, which I will definitely come back to try again.Their regular dining is also very yummy--I am a huge fan of the garlic naan and vegetable samosa chaat (which is technically an appetizer, but I often get it as a midday snack or meal). They offer almost all their food at spice levels 1-5--5 gets really spicy, but it's a great kick! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for fresh, yummy local Indian food!

This is my favorite restaurant in the Baltimore area. The first time I went, I was still full but went so I could hang out with my best friend and we had the vegetable soup, cheese naan, garlic naan, chow mein, paneer masala and the mango lassi. I knew this restaurant was a winner after chowing down on a full stomach! Also, the mango lassi is such a winner, just the right amount of mango goodness, sweetness and viscosity. The vegetable soup I went back for two days later because I couldn't stop thinking of how lemony sour it was. Today, I went with my friends after volunteering and the food continues to blow my mind and be amazing. My friends all agree they love this place too and will be back for more. Give this place a try!

I ordered the mysore lamb chops and literally received 2 small (tiny!) lamb chops with no meat on it. I wasted my money and feel cheated. This is unfortunate and the business should do better at monitoring what's being send out.

A biryani is typically known for its delicate flavors and use of aromatic spices. The rice was drowning in food coloring and salt. You get the feeling they did not have a biryani or was prepared to make one. They simply slapped together a hodgepodge mixture of salt, food coloring, hot spice and corriander leaves. This was wretched food with the salt and the hot spice dominating the meal to help hide the misery. Even though I emphasized I did not want the food to be spicy. Have been here more than a few times and have been satisfied with the offerings, but this was culinary sadism at it's worst.

I love sakoon! I go here every time I want to treat myself to something tasty. The service is great, and the food is even better! Great portions for the price, my go to is the chicken tikka masala.

One of the finest IndoNepali food service unit in the Charles Village area, and handy to the University campus and the MedStar hospital. The choices are always done well and the variety is really something to enjoy. The service is clean and food tastes could be ordered Mild or Spicy and are tailored to your needs. There is also Buffet style food most weeks and you would not pay a big price tag.
