I really love the food here and the service NORMALLY. However, lately there's a short lady at the register that has a bad attitude. I said thank you and she looked at me and I purposefully said have a nice day and she waved her hand away at me. I don't know if she's just having a bad day but I don't like her throwing that negative energy at me. Don't order the pad Thai. My friend who is with me who is from Thailand said they don't use the authentic noodles, they use the cheap stuff.Other than that, they're quick with their lines and the men and some of the ladies there are always so friendly and helpful so I'll keep them at a 3/5 for now.

Their food is always great. The people that serve me are polite and always give me multiple samples if I request them. It's right in between the great cookie and Popeyes Louisiana kitchen, I don't go to those. I only go here every time I go to Towson mall.

Ruby Thai Kitchen is one of several franchise names that are owned and managed by IRG (Innovated Restaurant Group) based in Tampa Florida. You might also recognize Nori Japan, Bourbon Street Grill, Shanghai 360, Stir Fry 88, and a few that are in beta. However, most of their locations in the USA are under the franchise of Ruby Thai Kitchen. As a franchise operation, your experience will depend greatly on the owner of the franchise that you visit. The owner of the franchise in Towson Town Center Mall does not value its customers, so I'm recommending that you do not visit this location, and by extension you should seriously consider whether you want to patronize any of their franchises.I sent an email today (3/1/21) to IRG headquarters in Tampa, FL, requesting a call from the District Manager for the Towson Town Center Mall location. I will relate my experience in Towson:1) I was served burned, dried out, tough, burned tasting chicken. (see photo)2) When I showed the Manager the burned chicken, and requested a replacement for the chicken, my request was denied.3) I was informed by the Manager that burned, dried out, tough chicken was exactly what they serve everyday.4) My request for the District Manager's name and number was denied. I may upgrade my rating, depending if the District Manager responds, and responds in an appropriate way. In the meantime, I'm giving this location a 1 star rating for providing the worst food, worst customer service, and worst managerial oversight of any restaurant that I've ever visited.

Mall food is either a hit or miss. There never seems to be a middle ground.I got the bourbon chicken special with vegetables. The chicken amazing. Tender, flavorful, and they weren't stingy on it. The only downside to this meal is the Lo Mein was extremely salty. Almost inedible. I couldn't finish it because of it. So I just ate the veggies and chicken.I would come back here. There was only one fault, but I see the potential.I didn't see that they offered Pad Thai until I was about to leave, so I will definitely come back to try it.

So...my impression of Mall Food Court inspired Asian food is that...they use essentially all the same menu items...right there with the BBQ place.I did my lap around the court and sure enough...Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Bourbon Street BBQ all had very similar items. Roasted chicken, overly breaded and glazed chicken labeled General Tso, Gau, Orange Flavored Chicken, Sweet and Tangy BBQ Chicken. Now, don't misunderstand my message, this is not a criticism. I like these items to some extent and the samples that get passed out are tasty, but I would never write a review on them.ButAlthough Ruby Thai Kitchen has those same items...they also have noodle soup and it was delicious. You can get the soup with a clear soup base or Tom Yum Soup base. Then a choice of grilled chicken, Thai won ton, seafood or beef. My wife and I chose grilled chicken and seafood. To my very pleasant surprise it was delicious. Not just compared to mall court food but compared to other versions of Tom Yum Soup I have had at Thai RestaurantsThe broth was mildly spiced which was first hidden with sour and finished off with a right touch of sweet. The shrimp was NOT over cooked instead perfectly done.My wife's chicken was NOT dried out, instead nicely grilled. The one knock, is they were missing some basil, or cilantro and maybe a lime.I would come here again without question, just to get the soup which was $17 for 2 bowls. The picture below has the two soups. The sushi was from Lasaka, which was pretty solid.

I understand why the score is low. It's because everything in the combo is tooooooo sweet. If you order a combo and Thai iced tea, you might consume more than 20g suger. However, if you order any noodle soup here, you will find a different world. Definitely try the beef noodle soup.

It was ok. I mean for mall food...it was OK. The shrimp was fresh, the veggies crunchy and the curry rice noodles were good. It just did not TASTE like Thai food, (if that makes sense). It kind of tasted like Americanized Chinese. The portions were HUGE, but it just did not have the unique taste of Thai food.

Customer service was non-existent. Thai chicken was filled with fat. I know I won't get white meat at the mall but come on guys. Trim the fat. Wouldn't eat it again.
