Rips Country Inn

I had a wonderful evening at Rip's! Excellent food, great service, chill atmosphere. Ashley was our server, and gave excellent service and was very sweet! I love the old country music playing. I had the chicken pecan salad which was 12/10!! Will definitely be back!

I have been coming here for years. Whereas previously quality was always consistent at a 3 to 3.5 level, now sometimes it is good and sometimes it is decidedly not. Most recently had a very bad experience, both with the service and my food. Yet, on my last visit in June, everything was fine.This most recent time was enough to put me off ever returning. We were in a large group and they mixed up all of our orders. Three servers (none the person who took our order!) came out with handfuls of plates and started shouting out the names of dishes and placing the food down in front of people who said "I didn't order that!" They didn't care! They just wanted to get rid of the plates!My mother had ordered a bowl of soup and they tried to serve her meatloaf with mashed potatoes instead! This despite another server having her soup in their hand and us beckoning *that* server to please bring the soup over to our side of the table. Eventually everyone got their (somewhat) correct order - except me! My order had gotten lost in the shuffle and had either never been made, or was quite possibly served to another table! When my sandwich finally arrived (about 10 minutes later) it had that crusted over look of having sat under a warmer for a while. Not appealing and the sandwich also still was not what I ordered!They took away the sandwich and asked if they could bring me something else instead. I said a bowl of Cream of Crab to choose something that would arrive quickly. The soup did arrive quickly but it was not to my liking at all. It was very thick and gloppy and seemed to have been cooked a few days before. I tried but I simply could not get the soup down - my body was rejecting it.I ended up in the restroom feeling queasy and could not wait to get out of there. In summary, it was too hectic. The service was disorganized, and my food was not good.Two stars instead of one because of past meals I have enjoyed there.I used to go a few times before the Bowie Baysox, but you can get much better food at the Baysox if you go to the restaurant upstairs. Otherwise, if you're in the area, there are other options. I ended up going later on that day to a really good pit beef place near the water.There is a Chick-fil-A right next to this place and a new Canes Fried Chicken across the street. As well as a McDonald's close by. I would choose all of those over Rips, sad to say.

Grabbed a bite to eat at Rips the other day. We started out with a cup of cream of crab soup. The soup was creamy with pieces of lump crab meat on top. It was pretty good. The we had the fish and chips and their version of a French dip. The fish and chips were a little costly, but you got two nices pieces of fish(need more seasoning) fries and coleslaw. The dish was nice and hot. The French dip was basic beef(need more seasoning) and cheese on a sub roll. It came with au jus for dipping, fries.The service was good, but then again the restaurant was not busy. The menu seems a little pricey, but I think Rips is worth a try.

Locals recommend we must dine here when we're in town. Very cool place inside. Liked the little bar area. No problem with service I'm sure at least five different people attended to our needs. The soups were just ok. The Maryland crab was more vegetables than crab. The cream of crab was tasty and full of crab. Just too thick for me. The sandwiches were just ok. The turkey was good and enjoyed the green beans and the stuffing. It's an ok place

Attentive bartender and great drinks! I wouldn't get the fried fish. It was too chewy and not fresh. Tasted like oil wasn't hot..idk terrible

Used to love this place. Last time we went service was awful. Almost all the food was lukewarm or cold. I will never go back again

Awesome, AWESOME place 5 stars are not enough! From the bar to the setting, food and our very entertaining waiter Sean. Went there with another couple. Everything was just great. Food was perfect and delicious. Went to the attached spirits store/deli (impressive and friendly). This was our third visit and definately not the last. Our new favorite place.

I believe they not consistent. Ordered same items I ordered last visit (6weeks ago). Stuffing wasn't fresh and crusted like it was in a pan for 2 days. Gravy thick and low on flavor. The meal came warm not hot... (HOT Turkey sandwich). Crab soup isn't as good as 6 weeks ago along with sandwich. Asked for a to go box and a little extra gravy (you know hot turkey sandwiches, gravy makes the dish, charged $2 for side gravy... (maybe 5oz in an 8oz container. Service again much better last time, nice young girl but very scarce .... I'm an easy 40% - 50% tipper... I left her just over 20% and hesitated. Oh well next time in town looking for another place, any suggestions for a nice simple good hot meal. Thank You in advance. Ambiance is nice. But I'm about consistency when it comes to restaurants...

Great big servings with homestyle type home cooked comfort food. Service a bit slow, but good was great.

The women in the deli does not speak english. They dGAF about how your sandwich is done.
