This place is very good! Was blown away by the amount of food and the quality of the food. The right amount of spice. All I can say is, don't sleep on this place! Give it a try! It's amazing

Although you can smell the flavors cooking soon as you walk up, however the quantity and price is not adding up! Let's talk about the customer service, I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The food selection is pretty cooked and on display. (Makes for easy ordering process). The food seems to be authentic. The beef patty was nice and flaky with a nice ratio of beef. The jerk chicken delicious. But that's about all. The side dishes (cabbage and spinach) were bland and could use some spices (salt, pepper, seasoning). I didn't like the fact you got 2 pieces of chicken for the jerk dinner $13plus . Only a leg and thigh. That's not fulfilling or a good price. I think the dinner portion should be bigger and then maybe you can increase the cost.

Came here because my uncle highly recommended this place and boy was he right! I was visiting family and had the taste for some Jamaican food so was torn between jerk or curry. I ended up ordering curry chicken with rice & peas and plantains. Beverage of choice was Jamaican pineapple & ginger soda. The meat was falling off the bone and flavorful. Sides were great but what made this an even better food experience was my convo with Karen as she was preparing my food. Such a pleasant lady who I can tell puts love in her cooking. Whenever I'm back on that side of town, I'll be sure to be back to Reid's Jerk Shack. One of the best on Eastern Blvd.

I just received my order and the oxtails were so tough and peppery. We couldn't even enjoy the food because how tough they were. The rice and peas & white rice are made with basmati rice. I never had Jamaican food with basmati rice before so this threw me off. The plantains were decent though. I see the reviews differ from mine so maybe I caught them on an off day. I won't be back though to try it again.

The food was fantastic. Wanted some Caribbean and notice this lovely shake while gettin my tires fixed. Such a warm welcome from the tome I walked in. They have an inside dining and an outside dining area. Food was so fresh and absolutely scrumptious. Husband got the oxtails and I got curry chicken. Meat for both dishes fell right off the bone and rice was absolutely to die for. Cabbage was cooked to perfection and plantains were sweet. For the price you pay it wasn't bad. Next time you're there stop bye and say hi you wont regret it! Thank you Reid

I would say 3.5, the was some solid highlights which i would mention first. The beef patty was awesome, the type where the meat oozes out, you wont get that type in many Jamaican spots around the area. The curry chicken was solid, the jerk pork i ordered was interesting, when i ate it fresh it was ok, but a day after i had some pieces left were delectable. My least favorite was the jerk chicken, that was not good. Food is plentiful. I will check them out and get their curry goat, oxtail etc.

The food is amazing. I often find myself coming here every week (it's how I reward myself on Fridays!). Reid's is authentic & tasty. It feels homemade & it is always fresh. I highly recommend the oxtails and brown stew chicken. Good customer service as well. Intimate space with limited seating both indoor and outdoor.

As you can see I eat here often. I'm from nyc where the West Indian/Jamaican food is authentic and of high standard to those who eat it. We don't play out our West Indian cuisine. If it's not like back home I will never return to the establishment. I was recommended to this place after having a conversation about missing some GOOD Jamaican food. This place doesn't miss!! Every meal, every dish is always consistent and well cooked. The jerk chicken is AMAZING and they do not charge extra for oxtail gravy on the rice unlike other establishments. The place recently opened and they seem to be doing VERY well. Food is prepared when you order so you can expect maybe a 5min wait at most unless they are currently making what you're ordering then obviously you'll have to wait a little longer but it'll be FRESH/Hot off the grill. The place isn't that big but they do have 2 tables inside for seating if you wanted to eat in. Summertime they have tables outside with a lot more seating available. I would recommend anyone is the Essex, Dundalk, middle river or Rosedale area to try this. Heck I live in Towson and drive all the way over to Essex just for my food from them lol.O yeah the owner is there most of the time. Says a lot about a business when the owner actually works there and cooks also. He might make your plate or be in the back cooking up that amazing jerk.

The address is not on Yelp so I called and the lady was very helpful giving me the address and telling me landmarks around the restaurant.I will say this Carribean food flavor is different from what I'm used to.Jerk chicken is usually spicy, this jerk chicken has no spice to it. The jerk sauce on the side is sweet I wasn't a huge fan of the rice and peas, it was flavorless. The curry chicken was seasoned very well. This is my first time trying this place but I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu

I found this place by accident. I was in the neighborhood when I spotted it. I couldn't wait till I tried. I got the Jerk Chicken with Rice & Peas and Cabbage. When I got there, the inside was not much, VERY cramped. That's OK, I.m not dining in. The food was on display which is always nice. Ok, that was the good points. I was the second person in line when a woman walked in. I was skipped over so the woman could be waited. The food was still plenty hot when I got home. When I opened it and started to eat it, the chicken was not done. So under-cooked, it was not eatable. The rice & peas was dry as saw dust, the cabbage had hard pieces in it. I enjoy Caribbean cooking, but not this. I do have to say, it was spicy. I was so disappointed. I had to throw it away. Wasted $13. First and last time I will be going there.
