I came in to pick up my food and Mike who was at the front was very nice and helpful. He made sure to tell me to come back and visit again. Now, I've heard so many good things about Platta King and wanted to try it for myself. I was slightly disappointed. The sweet potatoes was really good and I would order those all day!! The whiting was seasoned but it also tasted like it was fried in burnt grease. I couldn't even eat them all because I didn't care for that grease taste. I even tried to eat it covered in hot sauce and it didn't work. Very disappointed. I heard so much about the spaghetti and how they don't have it often so I was excited to taste it. Once again, a little disappointed. The meat was very salty which always throws off the taste of the whole spaghetti. I couldn't finish that either! Smh! The Mac and cheese was just okay. I'm not sure which green herb they use in their Mac but it's a little overpowering. Overall, it wasn't bad but I was disappointed with that as well. I didn't really enjoy my meal and I'm sad about that because I really wanted to. I'm definitely going to try them out again because every place has a bad day to someone. I think I'll switch up what I order though. I say try them out for your self!

Customer Service: Our order was placed online through the Toast app, very easy to order from. My husband completed a quality control before we left since our commute is 45min and we had multiple orders. Everything was correct in the bag! Food: Huge Portions!Our Order: Fried Catfish with Collard Greens and Macaroni & Cheese Maple Jerk Salmon (extra sauce) with String Beans w/Smoked Turkey, Candid Yams and Rice. Don't sleep on the extra sauce.Fried Catfish: The food was delicious and the portions I received were HUGEEEEE. My fish was fried hard with that good ole thick batter. The sides aka stars that make a meal I loved the collard greens with smoked turkey and Mac and Cheese tasted like Granny dressed in a frying food moo-moo was back in the kitchen. Whew Lawd! I promise I'm not gassing this up. Maple Jerk Salmon: It was delicious packed with flavor, tender, and a delicious sauce balance and it came over a bed of yellow rice. Extra sauce was ordered this time and whewwwww I don't want it any other way now. Similar to the fish dinner the portions I received were HUGEEEEEEE. Plattaking has Bel Air Rd jumping !! It's always live in this place. I see a lot of people dropping their ratings because of the wait time. Fact; You are going to be waiting for your food. Especially if you walk in & order like I did. They tell you they cook their food fresh when ordered. I don't have a prob waiting. Rather that then having my food sitting around drying up. 8.8 out of 10 for me. True soul food. Everything I ordered was great. The fried fish wasn't too salty. Nice lil crunch on the outside, and is smooth on the inside. If I'm not mistaken, this is the best mac & cheese I've had from a restaurant. The yams were solid too. Not too much sugar or not too much cinnamon. Respectful. The wings were a 6.5 to me. I got the regular buffalo & honey old bay wings. Not big enough for me ( pause) & they were a lil overcooked. Huge portions are served here. Enough for you to crush & save some for tomorrow !!! I surely will be coming back to try other things from their menu. Hope you enjoy it. #TeamDiesel

This place is very SOLID 4/5. I ordered my food online because I read that ordering in person wasn't the best and that would be correct. The inside is tiny and there is no waiting area so order in advance. I got the turkey wing platter with sweet potatoes, greens, and mac and cheese. This food lasted me two days. The only reason this place was a 4 and not a 5 is because I felt as though the gravy on the turkey wings wasn't quite "right." But the actual gravy didn't take away from the quality of the entire plate. The food was very tasty, very good, not overly seasoned, but seasoned just right. Felt like I had a little plate of Thanksgiving.

This place is normally my go to spot for Soulfood. My normal is the the old bay wings, sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese which is normally delicious. Today I tried the garlic mashed potatoes and I wasn't a fan, they didn't taste bad just a tad bit too garlicky for me. I also tried the banana pudding that way way to soupy, like the pudding had been whipped, and it barely had any Nila wafers, they need to go back to the drawing board for that recipe cause that ain't it.

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. It was very much worth the wait and the 25 mins drive. I ordered online and received a text when the order was ready (appreciate that). I really wanted to try the catfish but it was sold out, so I opted for the fried chicken (honey old bay wings). I got the platter which includes 2 sides, I chose mashed potatoes and string beans and It did not disappoint. The wings were good size, very flavorful and crispy. The MASHED POTATOES deserve and encore on their own, buttery and delish. The green beans were tasty butI will try the greens next time. I cant wait to go back for the catfish!!

My first time ordering food from here and they lived up to the hype. Rating I would have to give my experience is a 9.5/10. My friend picked it up for me so I didn't walk inside of the establishment. Also, when I received the food, in the bag the wing sauce was spilled everywhere. Just from me opening the box and looking at the food, I knew that it would be good. It exceeded expectations. Food was AMAZING. Wings were cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. I got the Honey Old Bay Wings and they were exactly that. You get a strong taste of honey and a strong taste of old bay, making the perfect blend. The sauce was also great. Wings 10/10. Not too much to say on the mac and cheese. You can tell by the picture how good they already were. A great balance of cheesiness, consistency, and overall taste. Nothing to complain about but not sure it's a full 10 but close so 9.5/10. Candied yams were really good as well. The sweetness and taste that you're looking for in GOOD candied yams. Only complaints is that the bottom was a little wet and the yams were mushier than to my liking. 9/10. One of my best meals in a while for a reasonable price!!

Babbbbyyy! Now if you are looking for soul food that taste like your Auntie or Mama cooked it right in their kitchen, then you need to get here asap!! . I ordered 12 honey lemon pepper wings and 8 honey old bay wings, 2sides of macaroni and a side of string beans. OMG!!! the Mac & cheese was made perfectly! The string beans were cooked well with just the right amount of seasoning and the wings were absolutely delish!!! The service was cool and my order was correct! I will definitely be visiting again!

Food was 10/10 love this place! Service is quick. Ambiance leaves much to be desired. I wished they opened more than they do so we could enjoy them more.

Oh my! I've been here this whole time and didn't know about this place....this is definitely in the top 5 places to eat in Baltimore...your pockets have to be right but oh it's well worth it....fried whiting...cabbage..Mac n cheese..hot honey shrimp. Now you can't be in a rush for the food ...it's a wait but worth it! Like the slogan says ITS SOUL FOOD NOT FAST FOOD...I'll be back
