If you happen to be in Baltimore MD at the harbor, stop at Phillips Seafood for good food, excellent service and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Our meal was delicious. The crab cakes were full of crab meat not breadcrumbs. Dessert was delicious but I had to take it home bc I was so full. Our server, Aaron, was a pleasure. He was quick with service and very funny and personable. We had a great time trading jokes. He was also a wealth of knowledge about the area. Stop in and ask for him. Also, I have give a special mention about Zay. He works diligently and keeps the dining area with great care. Also, Mark, your staff is wonderful!! Keep up the good work.

Absolutely phenomenal meal and dining experience! The restaurant is right in the harbor and the decor is uniquely nautical in a way that gives fine dining vibes. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and I was famished so I splurged a bit and got the steak and crab cake - perfection! Ample portion size, great crab cake and piece of steak, and the mashed potatoes and asparagus were also spot on. After seeing pics of it on Yelp, I also had to get the crab dip to share which I highly recommend. And to top it all off they came around with a dessert tray and I couldn't say no to the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich! It was so good it literally had me happy dancing in my seat!I left very full and very satisfied - definitely recommend visiting Phillips!

Very nice. Sort of a last minute decision for us as we were in the area. Our waitress was wonderful. The food was great, and our portions were really huge. Relatively quiet overall. And the prices, though a bit higher than we'd like, were not overly expensive --- you get what you pay for and everything is more expensive these days.

Just stopped in for some apps and drinks. Got the crab dip and ceviche. Crab dip was good, but not great. The bread served with it was tasty and hot (temperature). Skip the ceviche- unimpressive and only served with two chips. Orange crush was fine but also not the best around. We stopped here more for convenience; I knew going in that food would be average. Service was great in the bar area and restaurant was not crowded, despite it being prime lunchtime.

This is where my cousin wanted to eat for graduation. It was a great choice. Cameron was our server and did a great job of going over specials, drink orders and food orders. He was attentive enough not to be annoying which I appreciate. Only hit was the host who looked angry and bothered that we should be eating there or that anyone was eating there at all. Please remove that kind of employee from the greeting area. When you are expected to pay X-hundreds for dinner the last thing you want is a sour faced host seating you at 5pm. Rant done but that took a star off (Yelp add half stars) cause she would have cost 1.5 stars off. My cousin was ok with it when she and I entered but I was not.Food was awesome! My cousin who has been an Elite for 14 years (she knows I should have been an elite the same amount of time but my elites back then were lame) and I walked the pier as we waited for my family trapped in a parking lot after graduation. We went in early and had some appetizers and drink. The crab dip and poke nachos were yum. Once family came we asked for more bread and were provided it as the portion for appetizers was surprisingly large. Cameron delivered everything on time and in sequence.Entrees were awesome and I ordered surf and turf. The lobster tail was a good size and the steak done to medium rare as asked. It was tasty and delicious. My aunts and dad liked their foods and they ordered seafood as well. The dining experience was superb. Price is fair, maybe high but along the lines of Scott's Seafood and Grill in San Francisco and Oakland, CA but a tad cheaper and not a table cloth experience. Though the Oakland Scott's location has a view of the Bay, Philips did not seem to have a view of Baltimore Harbor however, they do have patio seating outside. No way were we dining out in 40ish degree weather. Food is legit and that was nice considering we were starving. Cameron delivered everything on time and in order. I did have a really good fruity cocktail and a killer local Baltimore beer.Ambiance was nice but unspectacular as well. It is a typical sit down style eating area with open sections. Can't really complain but no wow factor. It was nice to reconnect with an Aunt who remembered me as a little kid so chatting with her was nice. Places where you can chat without screaming is so nice. Overall it was a nice place to celebrate my cousin's graduation and everyone was chatty so it was awesome! Now when I move back east, would I come back here? Yes, but will most definitely eat in the outside dining area.

I used to visit this restaurant at least once a year for years. It's been 20 years since I last visited but the food is still good. Last night, I had the lobster bisque soup and the Hooper Island crab cake. The lobster bisque soup was delicious but it was warm. I like my soups hot. The hooper island crab cake was delicious. Filled with just crab meat. It was seasoned well. The dish came with mashed potatoes and veggies. I usually don't like asparagus but I love how it was prepared. I would give this dish a 9 out of 10. I took off a star for two reasons - 1- the soup was room temperature 2- the waiter took a long time to bring our drink, we had to remind her that we ordered a drink. 3- the restaurant closes early, my friend and I were told that the last seating for dinner was at 8:30 pm and we had to rush to get there. 8:30 pm on a Saturday night is very early (I'm from NYC).

Actually, I think this review would be more of a 3.5-start rating, but mathematics say I gotta round up. We pretty much ended up at Phillips Seafood because Yelp told us to do it. No seriously, we were in the area, and Phillips was one of the places that popped up first on Yelp. I will say that the restaurant is located in a beautiful section of Baltimore right on the harbor. While we sat in the "atrium" area of the restaurant, it looked pretty huge (i.e., great for groups) from my POV. Since the restaurant is right by the aquarium, Phillips seems to be a great place for locals as well as visitors. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted with friendly smiles from the staff. Out waitress was pretty awesome because she constantly checked in with us and made sure everything was going well. Also, she provided great recommendations of what we should try. Based on my past experiences, a waiter/waitress might provide 1-2 recommendations. However, our waitress went above and beyond by recommending (with great detail) about 5-6 dishes. For appetizers, we went with the Chesapeake Crab Dip and raw oysters. While the dip was not bad, I was slightly disappointed because I did not see any crab meat in the dip. Looking back, I was a bit surprised by large size of the dip for the low price of $16 for the dish. So I'm going to assume the "crab" dip probably does not have actual crab meat in it. Aside for the lack of crab, the dip was a cheesy, gooey delight. For my main course, I had the Broiled Seafood Trio ($39) which came with a crab cake, a fillet of barramundi, 4-5 shrimp, asparagus and mashed potatoes. For the price, the jury is still out. Since I do not live in Baltimore, I'm not 100% sure if this is a good price relative to other similar seafood restaurants in the area. I have to say that really enjoyed the fish because the fish was seasoned very well and a decent-sized portion was served. Also, the crab cake had a decent amount of crab mixed in it. After writing the last sentence, I guess the $39 price tag was fine - primarily based on the amount of crab meat in the crab cake. My partner ordered the Lobster Roll ($30), which he found very delicious. Also, the Lobster Roll comes with a HUGE amount of french fries. Final verdict: While I probably would not go out of my way to dine at Phillips Seafood, it is a good option if you happen to be in the Inner Harbor area of Baltimore.

As a private chef, I usually spend Thanksgiving day deep under my covers catching up on sleep after having spent the past few days cooking for clients. But this year, I said hell to the no...I'm spending time with my family. So my daughter and I traversed to Baltimore to be with my brothers, nephews and cousins. The day before Thanksgiving, my sister-in-law planned an outing to the Inner Harbor to visit the Christmas Village. Despite the fact that the website claimed the Christmas Village would be open, when we gleefully arrived, it was actually closed AF. Like, only one booth was open. Huh? The cheerful, optimistic group that we were, decided we were going to make the best of it and just go have a nice lunch. We hadn't done any research on restaurants because we figured we'd be noshing on eats from various Christmas Village food stands, but as we walked the promenade we spotted Phillips in the distance. We all whipped out our phones, looked at the reviews and made our way to this seafood palace . We arrived around 3:55, right before happy hour started, and there was already a nice crowd in the bar. Our party of 10 ( adults, teens and one opinionated and rambunctious five year-old) was seated right away and soon thereafter, the extremely friendly and accommodating Ruslon came over and took great care of our group. Our food arrived in a timely manner and we devoured every tasty morsel...barramundi bites, spring rolls, oyster and crab dip, baked oysters, fish and chips and the bbq chicken sandwich. We were all very pleased with our choice of Phillips and our server, Ruslon. It was a great day and way to spend time with family during the Thanksgiving holiday. Highly recommended!

I was in the area visiting the aquarium and decided to come here for a quick bite. We were seated very quickly. The server was very attentive upon our arrival. We began with the crab dip and clam chowder for appetizers. Both were equally delicious! For a main course I got the Fried Catfish. I didn't enjoy the breading of the catfish but the fish was cooked to perfection! Perfectly flakey. To drink, I got a bloody mary. The drink itself was okay, I wish there was more of a tomato flavor in it.Overall, great experience! Prices are good for the portions. I left stuffed! I will be coming back again to try the other items on their menu.

Fish & Chips was very tasty. The lobster mac & cheese could have used more lobster, but taste was very good. Ayana was a great server!!
