Tasty, fresh Mexican food at a reasonable price: the best Mexican food that Laurel has to offer.I recently discovered Paraiso while searching in vain for "Los Pinos." Inside, El Paraiso is a dive bar and a dance hall.Considering that atmosphere, the quality of the food is a big surprise. We ordered a steak Paraiso burrito, a Paraiso salad with chicken, a chicken-topped Nachos, and a side of guacamole. Each dish was flavorful, generously-portioned, and fresh. (The three entrees each cost about $9, while the guacamole was $4.) I noticed that the skirt steak and the tomatoes both had just the right texture. For Mexican food in Laurel, I've also tried the Taco Bell, Tampico Grill, and Toucan Taco. This is easily the best: Taco Bell has a very slight advantage just because I love it and it's so cheap. Toucan Taco and Tampico Grill are trash compared to Paraiso (especially Toucan Taco).Paraiso would have earned four stars if it offered something extra: better flavors, a lower price, or a nicer interior. But, all things considered, this place is fine as it is.
