DESPITE the bad reviews me and my fiancé decided to give this place a try, wasted time and money. Love the decor. Went on a Wednesday afternoon, only 3 other people in the restaurant (all at the bar) and had the SLOWEST service ever. Had to get up and flag the waitress down to order. Small menu, food was not even good, and Weak drinks that are more on the expensive side. My fiancé is Guatemalan and was really looking forward to it because they have Guatemalan dishes on the menu, he was definitely disappointed. We really wanted to like this place cause it's a nice looking restaurant but just wasn't worth the $60 at all. 0/10

The Only Review You Need To ReadWe had passed by this place on our many visits to MegaMart across the parking lot; we've heard dance music blasting and good smelling food cooking out on the grill, so we thought we would take a chance on this place. One thing to consider is that this review is based on our experience with this restaurant. The chips were plain and uninteresting, the salsa tasted like nothing, I ordered my go-to meal which is chicken enchiladas ("Pollo" I said, using the limited amount of Spanish I know); our waitress brought out beef taquitos and argued with my girlfriend that she asked for the wrong thing when I was right there when she ordered and I heard enchiladas - pollo. Additionally, her pupusas were not good.I will say this - I always prefer ice water whenever I go out to eat. Not because I'm a cheap ass (though some of my exes might offer a differing opinion which is why they are my exes ), but because I'm not really a soda person. Carbonated beverages make me feel bloated and fill me up faster and I like to enjoy my food. But there's nothing quite like a glass of ice cold water. And typically if you order just water, you get a little glass. With this place, I got a Texas-sized mug of ice water. Just so I'm clear, the ice water was the most positive thing I could say about our experience.

This place needs to be shut down! The food is so low quality meat I gagged taking just 1 bite. My husband had a quesadilla a beef one and it tasted like slim Jim meet or a different type of animal ! The fajitas were a JOKE. Lazy lazy lazy- horrific- i would happily choose McDonald's over this garbage. The corona virus is affecting their supply apparently or they've always been this terrible. Calling the health department on them to shut it DOWN.

My hubby and I came here for a date night. I've always seen this place and was excited to finally get to see the inside and try some fresh authentic Mexican or Salvadorian food. We had 2 drinks each. The bartender was nice, but the drinks were super weak. Apparently weak drinks go for $12 each here, which I didn't realize (or I never would have ordered a second one). We ordered 2 meals. They didn't have my the ingredients for one of them, so we picked something else. 20 minutes later, they brought out ONE dish... the meat was flavorless and dry and the shells were greasy to the point they were soggy. At that time, we were told there weren't ingredients for the other dish (AGAIN) so they were giving us a meal on the house. That would have been nice if the meal was good ... again with the flavorless dry meat. We asked for sour cream to help with the dryness. Didn't know they would be charging us $3 for a spoonful! Ugh! Had I known that, I would have kept the spoonful from the first dish, cause we didn't touch it. We ended up packing up the second dish because I just wanted to go.We left hungry (and with a bad taste in our mouth - LITERALLY) and somehow had $70 less in our pocket. We headed straight for our local watering hole where were ate delicious food and got drunk for $30.I really wish I knew who the owner of this place was. If he experienced what I did last night, I would hope he would be ashamed and make some changes. Horrible.

Well what can I said this is just a drinking joint really don't see this as a family restaurant, the food is ok but the service is very poor I guess that if you don't order beer or shots this girls don't even want to come to serve you. Took almost 10min for a server to come and ask me what I wanted, and the place was empty beside two guys that were in the bar. I guess that's why this is empty.

The DJ plays the music way too loud. I would dance, but the music is not evenly balanced. I would enjoy it more but loud is not always enjoyable.

Would i recommend this place..? Absolute not I would make sure this the last place you visit in laurel. The food is incredibly flavorless i though I had COVID for second when I couldn't taste anything the yuca, chicharrón, fajitas de res, chicken quesadilla everything was the same flavorless.. I think the meat has gone bad and the cheese moldy won't ever eat here again even if they paid me.

This was a decent atmosphere but the service was subpar. The servers blatantly treated us different because they thought we didn't speak Spanish. We were charged for drinks we didn't order. The waitress didn't understand English at all but clearly knew what she was doing. We were up charged and the bartender admitted to the Error of the waitress but the owner refused to correct the situation. After speaking to other patrons it was Clear we were charged more than everyone else. I Don't think it was because of race because the blacks(I'm American Black) of Caribbean decent seemed to have a fine timeinteracting with the staff. Don't recommend going here. The drinks were small and came in the smallest plastic cup but were 15 Dollars.

Tasty, fresh Mexican food at a reasonable price: the best Mexican food that Laurel has to offer.I recently discovered Paraiso while searching in vain for "Los Pinos." Inside, El Paraiso is a dive bar and a dance hall.Considering that atmosphere, the quality of the food is a big surprise. We ordered a steak Paraiso burrito, a Paraiso salad with chicken, a chicken-topped Nachos, and a side of guacamole. Each dish was flavorful, generously-portioned, and fresh. (The three entrees each cost about $9, while the guacamole was $4.) I noticed that the skirt steak and the tomatoes both had just the right texture. For Mexican food in Laurel, I've also tried the Taco Bell, Tampico Grill, and Toucan Taco. This is easily the best: Taco Bell has a very slight advantage just because I love it and it's so cheap. Toucan Taco and Tampico Grill are trash compared to Paraiso (especially Toucan Taco).Paraiso would have earned four stars if it offered something extra: better flavors, a lower price, or a nicer interior. But, all things considered, this place is fine as it is.
